- Here I am, continuing to enjoy opening these old time capsules. My goal is to have a sealed version of all of the trading cards from the original trilogy... as well as open a box each.

Thanks for having the guts to open these vintage boxes. I've been really enjoying seeing you crack pack fresh cards of this rarity. Would love to see a series one break but I understand how expensive this series box is! I have the complete set and stickers that I collected back in the 70's. Good work, Keep it going!!!

Great opening and attention to detail
E-dub, thanks for making yet another cool video. Enjoyed your Series 5 wax box break here. Good luck with your PSA submission. Look forward to seeing your PSA grades on these. That one pack you opened with the noticeable bend through all the cards - that type of “warping” occasionally happens with some of the packs sitting in these boxes for 45 years. It’s the back and forth exposure to warm and cold temperatures over time. And sometimes the cards become “bowed” or slightly “curved.” I think PSA occasionally knocks down grades if the card isn’t straight and has a bow or curvature to it. Not sure what their grading rules are with it, could come down to being a subjective thing with the grader. And with your Boba Fett PSA 8, good to know that dark spot was just on the sleeve. That card looks more like a PSA 9. Wish PSA would have the grader explain and write down on a sheet what the issues are that determined the grade. Not sure why PSA doesn’t include a return sheet along with the PSA return. Seems like a simple enough thing for them to include for customers.
Yah 😕… no doubt you are correct. Makes sense. Makes me think that some of these boxes that are ballooned out a bit… it might be a sign of what is inside. Ya know? Some of these BBCE certified/sealed boxes are fattened up or expanded a bit. yet some of them are flat as a pancake. It’s totally understandable that some of these things found their way in an attic of these 45 years. I’m pretty happy though. Thanks for the good insight.
I’m really surprised about the yellow bar on some of these cards….I don’t recall that on any of the other series….it looks like they don’t have much tolerance side-to-side….You might send one of these yellow bar cards in to see if how much they will grade down for it….also, I feel like the grading of the stickers with the gum stains might go better than you think….another awesome video….on these, I don’t mind them going a bit longer, because it is more about the knowledge for me….I feel like anybody hanging around past thirty minutes probably feels the same way….
The yellow bars across some of the card edges was common for Series 5. The Topps’ printing defects got worse with this final series - lots of yellow ink print lines and splotches in addition to card mis-cuts and off-centering.

When you get a series 1 box to open you should carefully inspect all the packs and keep the best looking one and send the unopened pack in to be graded.
This would be tough… I might be able to do it if I had already gotten 3 Luke #1s maybe…. but man… that would take serious will power. I see what you mean tough. To me, holding off on these other boxes, is all the will power I have!

In regards to your fingernails and cuticles, I'd say you have mostly PSA 7's and 8's...MAYBE a PSA 9 in there, but don't hold your breath! Another fun rip! Those packs that were warped were probably from moisture or something like someone else said...not sure there's "a new hope" for those ones. The yellow line thing seems to be unique to series 5. Pretty annoying though! Also, I think card #321 with George Lucas and Mark Hamill is one of the more desirable/cool cards. I don't mine the longer videos either. Can't wait to see some grading reveals!!

I would put some of those warped cards in between the pages of a book with heavy weight on top of it for a couple of weeks and see what that does

Ha! Well… nice of you to ask…. I just got back my PSA return for the ESB series 1, and I have opened it. I also opened a box of ROTJ series 1. I just need to put the clips together and fire it out. 😬
