Couple of things...Pete is QB3, QB2 Greek was injured in camp. If QB1 Gaballis is in the game it will be a lot closer. Another thing is even though McNeese was 1-10 last year with its only win coming via forfeit, this is a completely new team with a lot of FBS talent, 21 FBS transfers I believe. Basically their entire starting line up minus their QB who was an FCS transfer from Montana (QB1) who took the Griz to the FCS national championship game ( losing to S Dakota St) McNeese will probably only lose to TAMU the rest of the regular season and will finish top 10-15ish. By the same logic as McNeese is a really bad team because they were 1-10 last year, Baylor was a bad team that lost to Texas State by double digits so Tarleton should win this game! Now I think Balor will win this game but depending on who the Tarleton QB is will determine if they beat the spread. Though Tarleton's D will give up a lot of yards, they do not get penalties and are very opputunistic which helps make up for it. Lastly Britten is REALLY good so your going to have to stack the box to stop him, if you do not he will get 100+ yards.
Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuut, did you even watch that game? Tarleton QB1 stood flat footed and hit the dirt quickly when McNeese came with pressure. Decent arm, but NOT an athlete at all. Watching these two teams was a small step above watching paint dry. If BU does not beat them by at least 3-4 TDs, I'll have a hard time attending aother game this year.
So Pete will be the QB and was the second string for game one because Greek is out? Not sure the issue there as it seems likely Pete will start. I am betting McNeese won’t lose just once the rest of the season, we will have to look back on that. Also an FCS team going 1-10 is WAY different than a Power Four program going 3-9. Bringing up the Texas State game doesn’t make sense either as that was a bowl team at the FBS level and is not comparable to Tarleton in any way. Tarleton has players and a good coach but they were not great in week zero just caught lots of turnover and penalty luck. I think Baylor covers the 26.5.
