New Webflow Update: Quirks of the new Custom CSS Properties + Values

The recently released Custom CSS Properties + Values feature is awesome, but it has some quirks. Here is a quick run through of what to look out for.

Interesting. I know a lot of devs have been excited about replacing their Global CSS embeds with Custom CSS Properties, but if you don't clear them from the embed, they'll get overwritten! I knew the embed would overwrite the style panel, but I hadn't considered that it would supersede the Custom CSS as well.

I didn’t think about that. Good to know!
So priority wise:
1. In line
2. Embed
3. Style panel - combo class over utility class
Is that right?
What about the page setting custom code?
