How do I know if the pellets that I bought are safe for roasting? We can’t get the Solo fuel yet where I am, so I bought some pellets online elsewhere!!

Can anyone confirm 2 hour pellet burn time on Ranger stove?

Not sure on my ranger as I don't have the pellet adapter yet but on my Mesa xl I just got a 1.25 hour burn on a full load (about 8 cups) I'm sure the ranger would go 2.5+ with a full load of 25lbs

What are the advantages? I have a Traeger Pellet Smoker and so I know pellets aren't cheap... Is it convenience?

This would use heating pellets. The advantage is convenience and a 2 hour burn without having to mess with logs or stoke wood.

Heating pellets are generally much cheaper than food grade too.

Just don't plan on roasting marshmallows, hotdogs or any type of food over the fire then. Heating pellets have chemicals in them that you don't want to cook food over. I'll spend a bit more to know my family is safe sitting around the fire making s'mores

@Adam K that's why I stopped using charcoal briquettes for grilling! Now I use lump, hardwood charcoal.
