This is how I've taught my nephew to read tarot. I ask him to tell a story using the cards and it's amazing how well it works in opening up his confidence. He's less inhibited when he feels there's no right or wrong.
Tarot truly is the story of my life. I use it to journal and I really like the cards to be the darker cards and maybe a bit of light at the end of the tunnel. So I love a great tarot read just like I love a good story.
currently reading 78 degrees, getting back into tarot after many years, actually feel "called" to do it now. Using tarot for writing looks like a lot of fun.

I was doing a little search about the idea of story readings or storybook readings as you say and why am I not surprised that it led me here :D This idea fascinates me as a way of using skills I have already, story telling, with doing readings. I'm quite excited to see where this could lead.

I have noticed that some decks are easier to read as far as telling a story, I had a hard time with the RWS deck, but I received the Anna K Tarot deck and actually learned so much easier. Thanks for your great ideas 😊

I can make an educated guess as to what might be a part of the roots of tarot. Maybe at some time people held the belief that many things occur that are unexplained or beyond our grasp. And by opening up a situation to random chance, God or the universe or whatever it is can manifest. So the representative cards can be shuffled randomly, or tossed, or whatever and maybe something will show itself at the end of it. I could be wrong or poorly spoken.

Great video! It's given me some ideas on how to use the Tarot to get through the places where I'm stuck. And I would LOVE a video on how to write a novel with the Tarot! Maybe a series of posts? I have been thinking of creating spreads using the main story beats as postions meanings, and then maybe further breaking down each beat/position into a 3 card spread for more information. Something to play with, anyway. Thanks for your video. :)
Yes, it's definitely a good idea to use the 'set-up, conflict, resolution' idea in readings for querents. Three card readings are always very powerful and you can duplicate depending on how many stages or issues you're working with. When it comes to designing spreads, I like to go way out of the box and introduce ideas from other areas of my life.
Love this video! It's funny because I just started experimenting with doing readings to help inspire and flesh out story plotlines and characters for creative writing this month. So you have impeccable timing. Lots of great and interesting ideas in here that I hadn't considered, though. And I absolutely /love/ the idea of storybook readings. I haven't used spreads much lately, but I tried that one out the other night and loved it. Thanks for sharing! :D

I’ve been diving more into tarot and creative writing but I don’t see much about using it in academic writing. I’m in my final year of grad school and I’d like some tips in using tarot to help me with my thesis
You're not the only one to do this, but, for the life of me, I don't understand why use such a patterned fabric as a background, when the cards themselves are so full of patterns! It is very distracting and takes away from the ability to see the images and focus on them. Besides, it is basic common sense
