An enjoyable video. Rural South Australia here, and at 23,300 kms on my '23 Transalp (a friend kept calling it a Translap, then went and bought one - five in our mob now with them!) and - like yourself - loving the bike. Completely agree with both your complaints, and praise, of this understated but surprisingly capable bike. Equally excellent on both bitumen and dirt roads, as you say, and fuel economy stellar. Often after dirt stretches doing 80 - 90 kmh it reads 3.1L/100, which is bordering on ridiculous for a 'peppy' 750, and road cruising between 100 - 110 returns 3.9 - 4.1, depending on wind direction. That is staying in 6th most of the time of course. The tank capacity and range are also amazing, and I believe the 16.9L measure is only up to the baffle plate. Another litre fits if you fill it right up, and 400 kms easily achievable with mostly top gear riding. Personally I don't really miss a cruise control, although it would be useful for speed limits, as this bike is very tall geared, and doesn't really let you know the speed has crept up ("honestly officer"...). I would also mention the lack of an ambient temperature and oil window as shortcomings, although the 2025 model at least has the ambient temp now. But mine was $15,740 'ride away', and included some 'trinkets' being the first one sold in SA to my knowledge. I got the overpriced wind deflectors and bear grip footrests 'thrown in'. Thank you Joel... I ran Pirelli STRs after the stockers were worn out (at least the rear) and I think they are the ideal road/dirt compromise. Two rears to one front, and the rears lasted about 6,800 kms. I then fitted a pair of STR Rallys - only because they were out of plain STRs, and although these are a bit better on the dirt, they are a harder carcass, and feel like a firmer compound as well, and therefore not as good on the bitumen, of course. I only got about 5,400 out of the rear Rally, but got another one as the front was still OK. But I will go back to plain STRs as the best compromise after this pair of Rallys wear out. Yes, the Pirellis now made in Indonesia (front) and China (rear) and cost like they came from Italy, but are still decent tyres. My 50 years of Ducatis has made me a 'Pirelli man'. Keep enjoying your Trannie, and keep up the videos. You have an eminently Australian delivery and commonsense, and I find myself in full agreement with your comments. Thanks.
Thanks very much for your honest thoughts on my videos, Love the bike going to drop a video in the next three weeks on all the accessories I’ve added plus I’m gonna take the stock standard suspension and tyres for a ride up in glasshouse so I’ll drop that video
Good review, the 750 is definitely a peppy engine and a nice steer. You certainly don't find yourself needing more power. I'm torn between the Transalp and F900GG enduro. The BMW anoticeably better ride with more features but the user certainly pays for it. Currently on a 300Rally and have wired in a switch that disables the ABS completely. Very easy to do. Honda make fantastic bikes, but their ABS is the worst on the market in offroad applications. Congratulations on your choice and I'm looking forward to your off road review.
Thanks for your comment and watching the video, agreed the BMW was a bit pricey. I did look at it but I think the price you get for F900 and you can get something a lot better. Even Yamaha and Honda beat out the BMW in my opinion, I am considering the dongle which is $157, which turns off the ABS and traction.
The SW Motech GPS holder, has not move one bit, its holds the GPS quite well. i have a install video dropping in 3 week with all the mods I have done on the bike.

How do you like that SW Motech GPS holder over the dash? Is it stable/solid?

Veridian Cruise and LSK Motorcycle Electronics to the rescue.
Spot on there.
