Ballarinas naturally look taller than they are. People often think I’m taller than people who are actually taller than me. It’s our good posture, and the fact a majority have very long legs that add to that taller effect
Yes! I was always a curvier dancer, and I don’t dance regularly anymore so I’m definitely plus sized, but people still think I’m taller than I am. It’s the way you carry yourself and your limb proportions.
Yea its nuts! Somehow I get way more height recognition than my cousin 😆 at 5’10 she’s one of the shorter girls on her volleyball team, but at 5’8 doing ballet, everyone’s always like “WHOAAA”
Exactly! I’m 5’3 and everyone has always thought I was so much taller, 5’5 or so and are floored when they see how vertically challenged I actually am and that I’m only 5’3!! (I’m actually not 5’3, I’m just shy of it - but I round up bc I need that extra oomf! lol).
the extensions of ballet, the lines, the control and YEARS of dedication and training are what make most relatively short ballerinas look so much taller than they are, im 5’4 but i’ve had people say i look 6’ on stage when i actively danced with a company 🤭🥲 never felt shorter than when i had a football team come train with us tho, that was fun 🤣
I also trained in the school division, then pre-pro, then danced w the company and it was a company that worked w the local NFL team! When I was in pre-pro and then w the company I even assisted w the classes. I’m vertically challenged as it is, but man did I feel like a little church mouse next to those football players! lol. Ppl always thought I was so much taller than I am, I’m only 5’3……and that’s barely, I’m actually rounding up a bit bc I’m not actually 5’3! Even though I’m retired now, my good posture, long extension and lines, the way I carry myself, etc still make me look taller than I really am!
God her body and hand movements are so incredibly perfect. She’s clearly spent a lot of time perfecting every single movement of her body, it’s really incredible.
HOW does she make it look SO easy and effortless??? I know that ballet is very difficult, especially dancing en pointe! But Maya just looks like she’s taking a casual stroll in the park…. Just amazing
Mayas attention to detail is so good! I love how she brings her own vibe/tone to her art while maintaining such beautiful technique ❤ i love your channel eva and all of the dancers you show are amazing
YES!! I was thinking 5'4"-5'5". She has a very slight, tiny, lean frame. Thankfully, I don't think dancers share weights much anymore. But, her frame and legs make her appear model tall and thin. Legs for days. Such gorgeous technique!!
Most people dont stand at their maximum posture height naturally, and then her point shoes add to that, plus her beautiful long movements in addition to keeping that posture give her incredible length ❤❤
Actually for ballet the attire is ment to make ur legs look long and ur torso look short so that and the fact shes in pointe is why everyone is suprised shes only 5'5
Yall are to funny!😋 She soo gorgeous and beautiful with her dancing and carries herself so well!! I'm always blown away with all those amazing thinngs she does! Keep up the amazing work!
Damn im as tall as Maya i though she was like over 170cm. Impressive though i really like the elegance and the amount of pain u have to go through in ballet and i have a lot of respect for ballerina's.
5'5" is quite tall for a ballerina compared to decades past where 5'2" to 5'4" was more the rule. I think most ballet schools and companies are accepting taller dancers, as long as they have male dancers who are also taller "to match"
Its practically impossible to find a male partner to dance with when you’re taller than 5’8. I’m 5’11” and had to stop ballet when I got to that height 😢
@@Spiritualpanda2 yep, people often believe ballerinas are super tall, but historically it is the opposite, and even in modern times, ballerinas at higher levels are rarely over 5'8". I think that's the limit at the two main russian ballet schools. It has to do with going on pointe too. It adds 4" to 6" to a dancer's height when she goes on pointe, so a dancer who is 5'8" will be as tall as 6'2" on pointe, and it would be difficult to find a male partner taller than that. A lot of people seem to want the male dancer to be taller than his partner, not that I think it should be a requirement.
I actually think I prefer to watch ballerinas in their work out leotards as opposed to the costumes with tutus and long skirts. You can see more of the beautiful lines and smooth, graceful movements. And to be so close! 🥰🥰
She may be 5'5", but her stage presence, dedication, and talent make her seem like a giant. Maya is 10 feet tall.
When she goes on pointe that adds an additional about 4 inches to her height (length of her foot).
YUUUUUUUP
Wow she looks SO much taller than 5' 5"!
It’s because of the leotard! Leotards are built to make dancers look taller and more lengthy
@@Ur_Fav_Preppy1She is skinny has long legs and she wears point shoes
@@keti.rg.editzzz yea ik
Idk why but I was the opposite, I was shocked she was as tall as 5'5", I'd have guessed more like 5'2"
@@00hl4l4same, for me she looks shorter than that
Maya is such a beautiful dancer aaahhhh her technique is AMAZING!!! I could watch her for hours and never get bored 🩷
Supppppper true

@@twinkletoes62905’3 isn’t short. Average height for an adult women is 5’4.
i'm 5'6 which i feel like is average and the doctor says im average too but people be acting like im 6'4 😭 i am skinnier though so thats prob why

The way she travels across the floor in her steps is quite masterful. I find that type of footwork and Grace so impressive.
and im over here towering thinking she's my height *crys in 5"10*
In this case Tessa is 6 foot 3 😂.
I love how she makes everything seem so effortless, I strive to be that good when I am her age
The noise of point shoes hitting the ground is so soothing to me
Maya is such a talented dancer, i will be keeping an eye on her throughout her career.
God her body and hand movements are so incredibly perfect. She’s clearly spent a lot of time perfecting every single movement of her body, it’s really incredible.
she’s so elegant
the way she glides and floats is so beautiful ahh
HOW does she make it look SO easy and effortless??? I know that ballet is very difficult, especially dancing en pointe! But Maya just looks like she’s taking a casual stroll in the park…. Just amazing
Finallyyyyy someone has musicality doing this variation!
Ballerinas move so gracefully. They're so elegant it's fascinating.
She's pure perfection

She's so gorgeous
First! Maya looks so tall! 😅 Can you make this a series?
YES!!
I was thinking 5'4"-5'5". She has a very slight, tiny, lean frame. Thankfully, I don't think dancers share weights much anymore. But, her frame and legs make her appear model tall and thin. Legs for days. Such gorgeous technique!!
Maya is so good she is amazing
Maya is poetry in motion! Just look at her thigh muscles ripple and the grace of her arms and hands. Just beautiful!
She has the beat in her dancing. Perfect timing on those leaps.
Constantly in awe of this young lady 👏👏
She is terrific at dancing !!! 💜
shes got serious talent 💅
Please do this for all these incredible dancers, including the boys
Beautiful Dancer!
You should do this with all of them
I always assumed ballet dancers were tall. They look tall
They shall not be tall, girls above 5"5 have trouble getting roles. The male roles do not do Pointe and still the woman is supposed to look shorter
Woooow! I love how she moved effortlessly yet so efficient!!
Omg😮 her turns are so controlled and breathtaking! Her center is always right where it should be. Beautiful dancer.🩰💗
Замечательная девочка, смотрим ее уже давно!
It looks effortless when she dances 🤩
she so graceful
So wonderful to watch. I get to enjoy all their talent and hard work. Thank you for sharing 😊
Thank you for including the metric! ❤
She looks taller than that though
But we need Tessa’s height next plss🙏🏻
I also wonder how tall Tessa and Melanie are
She’s ethereal.
She’s so beautiful 😍 like a fairy
Can you tell Tessa she is so talented she is my favourite ballerina
She’s so talented !!!
She looks like she is 5'9" with that posture!!!😱😱😱💞💞💞
whenever i see her on pointe, i feel sooo bad and even my toes hurt because of that ancient toe pad lol
Most people dont stand at their maximum posture height naturally, and then her point shoes add to that, plus her beautiful long movements in addition to keeping that posture give her incredible length ❤❤
She is such a beautiful dancer!!!
first one! she's so talented and is so graceful! royal swedish ballet is blessed to have her!
Does she dance with the royal swedish ballet?
I’m Swedish and I wish to one day see her preforming 🤩
@@LordLuciferKråka yes i think its been a year!! maybe a little less im not sure
She looks so tall! 😮
But she isn't as tall as I thought!
I thought she is 175cm
Oh, sooo elegant, precise, and soft (the arms)!
Actually for ballet the attire is ment to make ur legs look long and ur torso look short so that and the fact shes in pointe is why everyone is suprised shes only 5'5
That looks so relaxing!!!
She looks much taller, and I'm sure it's because of her incredible talent on stage
Just beautiful!
I wish ballerinas were taller. I stopped once I couldn’t find a partner tall enough to dance with. I’m 5’11” but taller on pointe shoes.
Yall are to funny!😋 She soo gorgeous and beautiful with her dancing and carries herself so well!! I'm always blown away with all those amazing thinngs she does! Keep up the amazing work!
Small and cute! 😘💕
She make it look easy. Amazing.
Hope you do that for all other dancers
So beautiful to watch
Beautiful and effortless.
Maya is perfect ✨💘
that was so elegant
as a dancer, i’m 5’8, so i always get the taller parts because i’m all legs. i have no waist. just legs.
All the technical steps are there!💯 The character & nuances of Odile are still to be developed and incorporated. Then B💥💥M!!!🔥
She is beautiful
Damn im as tall as Maya i though she was like over 170cm. Impressive though i really like the elegance and the amount of pain u have to go through in ballet and i have a lot of respect for ballerina's.
She is so grateful 😮
Omg me and Maya are the same height! I fr feel like we could be twins 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
She floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee. Absolutely stunning 🩷🩰🦋
Maya slaying this!! Utmost love and respect for her❤️✨

okay, how tall are Tessa and Melanie then?😅 i’m 5’11 and they look pretty tall too
I think I remember somewhere tessa is 5’8”, I could be wrong
I believe Tessa is 5’8” and Mel is 5’6”
Its practically impossible to find a male partner to dance with when you’re taller than 5’8. I’m 5’11” and had to stop ballet when I got to that height 😢
Tessa is 5’9”
