308cr Excavator Modifications

We modified this excavator for a hydro electric project in Canada.
The machine will be used for cleaning turbine inlet grates at a power dam.
Custom work includes:
Extend boom 7ft [2.3M]
Fabricate and install guarding for the boom hydraulic lines and arm cylinder.
Extend arm 7ft [2.3M]
Fabricate and install guarding for the arm hydraulic lines and bucket cylinder.
Fabricate and install 1,500 lbs [680 Kg] counterweights on the track frames.
Fabricate and install guide rollers on the sides of the track frames.
Fabricate and install 2,000 lbs [900Kg] counterweight on the back.

I like the couter weights

Thank you! Mounting counterweights was difficult on this machine due to the solid cast factory weight and the lack of mounting points. The track frames are also counterweighted, and equipped with side rollers for curb running.

Thanks for commenting. It was designed for cleaning hydro intake grates. Notice the counterweights on the track frames and the side rollers for running against the concrete curb at the edge of the dam.
