- For the past 11 months the Marston Vale Line has been rail replacement buses between Bletchley and Bedford but trains have finally come back to the Marston Vale Line!
The trains are from Northern, Class 150 Sprinters which used to run on the Marston Vale Line until the Class 230s took over from Vivarail but when Vivarail went into administration.... they couldn't run any trains!
But this video sees SimOnTrains visiting the Marston Vale Line to ride a Class 150 DMU and visiting a random station on the Marston Vale Line as well.

Great vlog Simon. It’s great to see the Marston Vale Line back in action! I’ve been wanting to do this line for awhile and hopefully I’ll be able to next year.
Brilliant video of the marston vale line Cyber, it's good to see trains back on that line. :)
its amazing to see the line reopened & Stweartby station looks like a lovely station & the 150s look amazing in LNWR livery brilliant vlog
It's brilliant to see the Superior Sprinters backon the Marston Vale Line! It's been too long and it's good to see it reopen!
I am so happy that London Northwestern Railway have once again started using the Class 150.
Such a shame that Vivarail went bankrupt and folded that left the Class 230 D-Train to end their service on the Marston Vale Line. But it’s nice to see the Class 150 Sprinters back in service.
Fantastic video as always, and I loved the "spin to win" feature!! A great way of randomising the location of a visit.
Great video Simon
Great video. Glad to see rail services back underway on the Marston Vale Line. 😀
I’m very excited to see the Class 150 Sprinters now back in service on London Northwestern Railway and on the Marston Vale Line. They do look really nice.
thanks for the amazing content in 2023, Simon. It's been a blast. I can't wait for you to visit Ireland! :)
Great video Simon!
Good to see it open again.
Great video.
Great video Cyber, and it's good to see a passenger service on the Marston Vale line again
If you're planning to visit all the stations on this line, there is a heritage centre and tearoom at Ridgmont station (advance booking advised, as any food orders have to be pre-ordered)
Also, there is still visible evidence of disused trackbeds in the Bedford St. John's area, which could be the topic of a separate video
Great video Simon. Icl those 150s are loud.
Today's the day. Full service returns! £1 train tickets too!
It has, sadly won't be able to get down there to do a video about it, planned a trip up north and will be there for a week
Great video, Simon… but, why couldn’t they keep the 230s on this line? The island line and TfW are still running them?
Maintain by Vivarail staff themselves, when the administration happened they were sadly out of a job but GWR had took them on so they can trail a Class 230 on the Greenford Branch, Also GWR have brought the Class 230s that were in use with LNWR, but all the equipment was Vivarail as well, SWR on the Island Line maintain there own trains and TFW had the same problem but another manufacturer stepped in to help maintain them.
Millbrook would have been a better stop. It has featured on east enders a few times and someone is planting flowers and the benches are picturesque. It's the prettiest station by far on the line.
I am thinking of doing of visiting all the stations between Bletchley and Bedford next Year, if I do them Millbrook will be visited then
@@Sim0nTrains The current St John's at Bedford is located under a road bridge which has 2 arches. The other arch which is now an access to the hospital car park used to be the Bedford Hitchin line. And will in the future be a realignment for the ewr railway to make that section straighter as its in line with the river bridge towards Bedford. I know you love your stats and history. If your in the Bedford area let me know. I met you once at Warrington I said hello across the platform. Was 10 years ago or so.
Nice video mate, looks a nice route. 👍

London Northwestern Railway Class 230
Sad that these aren’t used anymore except to be transferred to GWR for the Greenford line very soon.
London Northwestern Railway Class 350
And only the Class 350/2 to be replaced by the Class 730/2 from next year.
@@Anonymoususer_8823why are the 730s replacing the 350/2 units?
