For getting the 16ths nailed, I d suggest start by doing 8ths, all with solid down strokes. Focus on locking in with the clicks. Then start introducing the upstrokes. It lead me to getting a tighter trem pick.

I love surf...crazy how it really only sounds like....surf.the beach. How you do you sound like a forest? And with just one effect? How do you sound like the desert? Phaser? How does antarctic rock become a thing? Surf is such a badass genre

PS. Can you do a tutorial on "Miserlou"??!! You are a good teacher I find it easy to learn with you and really like the camera shot you do of the neck- it makes it a lot easier

Gday Brian, This lesson was invaluable for me I am so grateful and I subbed to you because of this video- thank you SO much!! Is there a link to the "Pipeline" tutorial here? I can't find it on your channel. "pipeline" is in my top 2 surf songs I wanted to learn!!

One thing I've noticed in surf guitar is sustained notes use very little vibrato unless it's done with the bar.

One minute in. Plays Pipeline wrong and appears to not be able to use vibrato correctly on chords. It's no rocket science
