The wings of the dragonkin soldiers reminds me of the ones that the deathbirds have. Also, their affinity to cold is a kind of connection to ghostflame, so it could be that the dragonkin were supposed to achieve wings with this affinity that the Nox had with Deathbirds and Ghostflame
There's alot of theories about the dragons that I think I might cover in a separate video because there's several good ones that one could make a pretty solid case for and it seems like an interesting discussion topic
I have this personal theory that the dragonkin soldiers were made using trolls. The way that they appear ingame and the fact that both are missing their stomach which could of been the result of Marika sealing the fire giant's outer God. I also think that's what cursed Marika with the dual persona of Radagon since it said that he hated his red hair.
I mentioned in the video they looked like they were made from troll corpses. We know the nox had atleast some interactions with trolls by the silver tear that turns into one.
The missing stomach thing might be a matter of morality. If you recall, nothing can really die in the Lands Between until we release Destined Death. So when you eat something… it is still alive as you digest it. Sure, bodies are broken down but the soul is absorbed in a likely unpleasant fashion into the thing that broke the body. Or it writhes around in your body and causes no end of agony. Solution, rip out those organs. Maybe you won’t feel hunger. Even if you do, the inability to satiate hunger is probably easier to handle than digesting a terrified and suffering thing.
People like to shit on the mountaintops but it has some of my favorite things in the game here like the frozen lake fight against borealis, the guardians garrison, castle sol etc. I found the area very memorable especially with the birds and trolls fighting unending battles with eachother
@@TheHonoredMadman Let's not forget the vicious fingercreeper ambushes. There's quite a few side trails/nooks and crannies to be explored in this area. A lot more verticality than you might initially think. Compared to the straight bangers that are the rest of the game, the Snowfields might not be the same level as say Lyndell but they're just as good as Caelid imo.
Concerning the ancient dragons, after defeating Maliketh at the coliseum one finds a statuary depicting a young woman ringed playfully by three wolves. It’s a significant scene, repeated on loading screens in-game. Many have speculated this is Marika and I think the idea sound. Before she became a vessel for the elden ring, Marika was an empyrean, the daughter of a god and lord. The first true Elden Lord was Placidusax and this statuary is located in Farum Azula, the dragonlord’s tower in the sky. Above the statuary is a carved depiction of an elden ring. This is Placidusax’s and it contains more great runes than the one we’re familiar with. Consider for a moment the correlation between great runes and demigods. A female god acts as a vessel for these runes, carrying them inside and for every great rune she births a demi-god. With this in mind, the dragonlord’s extensive elden ring implies Marika had numerous maternal siblings. They needn’t have had the same father. A god can have more lords than one, as Marika did. Most likely, they came in batches, from different consort fathers of which Placidusax was the last. Apart from him, there are three ancient dragons in the game - Gransax, Fortisax and Leansax - and it’s possible they’re his children with Marika’s mother. If so, they’re distantly related to Marika’s children, giving Godrick’s boss fight soliloquy an authentic twist.
this is such a good theory, I would just maybe disagree with the part that each demigod was born with their own great rune, I also don't think that the elden of farum azula has extra runes, if you look closely unlike the other great runes, these extra "runes" do not complete a circle, rather I believe they are part of the "root rune" you can even see that two of these runes down their lines and branch out like roots
I always wondered why Marika sleeps on a bed made of literal stone and when we see her at the end of the game her body is basically made of rock, she could have not inherited her father's draconic characteristics but instead inherited the most important characteristic of dragons, their stone scales?
Really wish there were more ice dragons, lorewise, there really isn't much info about them and I've always wondered how they got to the mountaintops from the very beginning
Flying. But seriously, maybe Borealis is guarding spirit caller cave? Or he really likes big frozen lakes. Speaking of spirits, we could definitely do a video on the spirit jellyfish if there's any lore about them. (Not much I dont think besides the spirit ash and the shield)
Inwqnna cover the jellyfish, I was thinking of including them in a video about spirits since they seem to be the people reincarnated into jellyfish form atleast going by the ash side quest at stargazer ruins

As much as I love your channel, I will say two things. The Dragonlord’s god was akin to what Marika is. We have demigods, gods, outer gods, unknown beings presented as gods, and then the Greater Will. Based upon the whole thing with Gods having Elden Lords. At any rate, the Greater Will does shift gears from the ancient dragons, but the GW was not this god said to have abandoned them. Another thing, I don’t believe it’s ever said Godfrey forced the Dragonlord into hiding. Their conflict with their god seemed more or less self contained, as the Greater Will would set its sights on Marika. Their conflict with the dragons happened after the creation of the Golden Order. Anyway - love the video 🙏🏼 the dragons of this game really shed light on the ancient history of the world
