Which Laphroaig do you reach for most. I "found" a stash of quarter cask for a great price and I've been enjoying that now for a couple of years. I wish you did too. Thanks for dropping in DJ. Peat is an odd beast. As you can tell, I love it. However, close friends of mine really don't, so I understand this can put people off. Good idea to try to the 10 year old, or even something with a little less ask/smoke in the peat. I have not tried the Tullibardine 228. How does the burgundy wine come across?

Awesome review John. I love Ugie but I haven’t had a bottle in a while. Time to remedy that shortly🙂. That’s the one negative about doing reviews....sometimes we have to be more calculated with our purchases instead of just getting what sounds good to us at the moment. I do a little bit of both🙂
Thanks Keith! I am with you on the review problem. So often I see a bottle I know I enjoy, but go home with a bottle I have not reviewed yet. It's that tension that might lead me to close or at least suspend the channel. Not yet, but one day.
As always, I enjoyed your wonderful review, Jon. I think Ardbeg Day shouold be moved to October! Shall we start a movement? I find that among Scotch whiskys I do favor the more heavily peated varieties. For me, so far it's been Arbeg 10, Laphroaig 10, Lagavulin 16 and Port Charlotte 10. Now you've got me itching for the Ardbeg Uigiedail. So many choices, so little time!
Thanks my friend! That is a great list of Scotch, one I would happily keep in the shelf at all times! This Uigeadail is a big Scotch, but so, so good. October is a way better time, but we might just need to enjoy in May and then! Cheers!
I have yet to try a peated scotch, but I've very curious. I'm anxious to get my hands on an Ardbeg 10 to see how I like it. If that goes well, then I hope to save enough fun money to grab a bottle of Uigeadail. Thanks for your review, and thanks for your general approach of bottles in the $30 - $50 range. I could use some of that sunshine you had when this video was filmed.
Well, it's freezing right now up here too. I stand behind loving Ardbeg, but I will say it is not for the faint of heart.
