IMPORTANT! I just noticed there was a mistake in my order that I didn't notice when I made this video.
The EC Teacher Lesson Planner only comes with 7 checklist pages included. In the video I stated that it comes with 20 checklist pages, but it does not unless you add it as an upgrade.
Somehow my order included the $5 add-on for 20 checklist pages. I didn't order this so it didn't occur to me to check.
Please see my community tab for a screenshot of my order details to see what is included in the base price of the teacher planner.
Between this mistake and that teacher record book, someone at Erin Condren REALLY wanted me to have a lot of extra checklist pages that I didn't order 😂😵
I also needed the sticky notes and holder as soon as I saw them! I still want that teacher planner for content. May order it for 2025.
I am not a teacher BUT this planner and new layout speaks to me! I love it! I do wish the column colors would have gone through the weekend tho.
I love how you stated more specifically different ways you could use it if not a teacher. I won't be going for this one as it is too big for me personally but that has to be so helpful to others. Thanks for sharing.
As a teacher, I really appreciated the comprehensive view of this planner. I've owned them in the past, but have never found a way to use it as a high school teacher. That aside, I still love the planner and it can be adapted to fit other planner needs as well. Thanks for sharing! :)
As a teacher, I always preferred the vertical planners, they take up a lot of room on your desk. The vertical could always be folded in half, unlike the horizontal that must be kept fully open to see the whole day. As far as meetings I usually had 2-3 meetings a week. Some were in house others were district wide. The 12 boxes would be used to plan out your curriculum for the year. You need to pace how much time is spent on each unit so you complete the required curriculum by the end of the year.. You also have to keep track of professional development for recertification.
Somewhere I saw/heard a tip for the stencils - use a pencil then outline in your pen. I have done it with some things but it feels like an extra, unneeded step.
I am not a teacher but ordered one of these last year for the first to use as my work planner. However, I'm not sure I'll be ordering one this year as I would like a more neutral option. They do offer it with the old layout in the focused but you can't do any of the add-ons. I also wish I could get it in a 7x9.
I'm not a teacher, but the layout of this vertical planner would be perfect for me. I like to categorize what I'm doing every day, e.g. gardening, house projects, language learning, fitness, personal development, and etc to-do's, as I have goals around each of these categories, so 6 boxes is wonderful! However, I need a planner where I can move pages around, so unfortunately I won't be buying this planner 😞
I've created my own planner using a standard 3-ring binder, and the 8.5x11" size gives me plenty of space, and ease of shifting things around - each of my categories has a section within the binder, where I have my goals, lists, as well as my annual, quarterly, and monthly plan for that category. The weekly plan sits in the front section and incorporates all of the categories onto 1-2 pages (depending on the orientation). So if Erin Condren would like to make a planner like this, I'd be all in!!!
p.s. I love your videos - your approach is very friendly and matter-of-fact. I also like how you're ok with not getting everything done every week that you'd planned to do (that's life). I'm a fan 🙂
EC used to do the teacher planner in an 8.5x11 binder! They must not have been great sellers bc they discontinued it. But I agree, I'd love a great way to move pages around. I also need to be able to flip my book onto itself (so binders are out) and don't like discs in my planner very much. I'm just being picky though haha! Thank you so much for being here!! 🥰
I’m a teacher and really wanted this new vertical layout but…I can’t handle an 8.5 x 11 way too big and I was hoping the softbound would be available in this layout. So it was an easy choice not to purchase anything from this launch. Thank you for your review
Kristan, do you know if they will come with a January 2025 start?
Great question! I have asked my reps at EC and will follow up when I know the answer.
Yes, they will be available in a January start in October!
I'm a teacher and I'm really upset with the vertical option that they put out. I feel like it was only people who (like you) use it in different ways. How is this reasonable for a teacher? We needed one column for the weekend, because goodness knows teachers do NOT have that much school stuff going on in the weekend and there is definitely not enough space to write in for secondary teachers. I dunno, EC just has disappointed me yet again and I got the horizontal planner despite not really wanting it, but knowing it works okay-ish for me for now.
Have you looked at the plum paper teacher planners?
I’m a teacher and this planner is perfect for me.
@@pris9368 good for you, I'm glad. I'm a secondary teacher and this does not work for me
@@faithandplans9952 yeah I don't like the double weeks so I will never get it
@artzyplan2738 what is a secondary teacher. I’m a high school math teacher in Canada so I’m not familiar with secondary teachers
