      Thank you Walter, I am so in love with these types of virtual instruments that you can indeed perform and add expression, without using key switches. I hope more developers will start doing this approach. =)

    There are contrabass clarinets that go down to Bb, but D is the lowest pitch guaranteed by the contrabass and bass clarinet alike, lower pitches being range extensions that only some models have. I'm a little surprised that they didn't get an instrument that has the maximal extension. I get the impression they aren't super obscure by contrabass clarinet standards.

      Ah thank you for clarifying. I do miss those extra notes to be honest. I guess the range extension you talk about is similar to double basses, which natural range ends at low E, but most modern basses have the low C extension. It's basically a must these days for modern orchestral music.
