Very nice. My dad had a Canadian 700 with the 300+ tip turbine motor. Thing would just pull and pull. The long nose R models hold a special place with me for sure. Keep on working the old iron. They’re money makers.
@@JensSchraeder he definitely upgraded in the superliner. They rode much nicer with that air cab set up. That's why I put it under this Western R model.
Thanks for the tour! Finally got a chance to catch up watching vids and this was worth the wait. So much I didnt catch at Union and so cool to see your mods under the hood!
Those LED headlights, I noticed those right off the start. I have a set in my old Swinger, one of the best upgrades I ever did to that car. But, on a daily driven in the winter, I think a guy would have to source something that builds a bit of heat to melt the snow and ice off the lens. My Dad used to run an old Mack with rubber block suspension when he hauled propane. I remember that truck rode so rough it could break your spirit as well as your back, been a fan of Mack trucks ever since he had his.
Hey man, loved the video! Learned a lot and enjoyed looking at a beautiful r700. Well done my friend. I also wanted to ask, what did you paint the steering wheel with?
@Only4Trucks thanks for watching. Love your channel. Been watching for a while now. I had a friend that worked at a body shop spray it. I think it's just automotive paint over a sanded down surface. It was done about 10+ years ago. It's holding up fine.
@@Maddogtrucking absolutely man! I'm about to surf through the rest of your videos lol and wow that's awesome thank you for watching my videos! I have struggled to find an original white Mack wheel, but painting honestly didn't even cross my mind 🤦🤣 but makes total sense and I'm gonna give it a shot!
@Only4Trucks I left it to the pros when I had it painted but it's held up great. If the wheel has cracks in it you can fill it with a special putty made for older steering wheels that doesn't shrink. Search for steering wheel repair. Thanks!!
Very nice, my uncle owns a 1977 Mack R model and he still works with it. Is your truck supercharged as well as turbocharged? I can see two hoses coming from the air intake, the bottom hose feeding the turbocharger and the top one going to this intercooler shape assembly. Is this supercharger?
@MaisonShiraz77 the engine is a 285 tipturbine One tube filters air for the turbo intake. The other tube filters air to the tipturbine. The tipturbine spins under boost pressure and draws ambient air across the charge cooler to lower intake temps.

Love the Tip Turbine Maxidyne. Wonderful sound and excellent driving characteristics. Very nice truck, thank you for sharing.
