      it's a ring with a tongue on it
      the ring has a bolt to tighten it to the hot head and the tongue has two screw holes
      please note that i don't run cans any longer and have switched over to using a mr heater tank adapter hose

      you can buy a base for the torch and C clamp it to the table!

    When your glass rod pops like that (around 6th minute), is there a way to use it at some point at all or will the entire thing pop like this? If so, can that rod be used for some other way safely, like melting it in kiln in small pieces on top of other glass?

      It depends on the rod and how much it’s been rattled around
      You can put them in a kiln for a Low temp soak and try to get some of your moneys worth out of it

      anything steel or stainless steel will work

      no ma'am if you don't want to do borosilicate you don't need it per say

      Has to be soft glass (coe 90+) to work with a hot head

    Are you using map gas or oxygen and propane?

      Propane

      Usually Mapp gas on a hothead but you can use propane. Mapp is hotter.
