Use the line tool bro. Or if the drawing program doesn't have that tell me the program name and I will tell you how to make a perfect line

Dude I am right there with you. I’ve been doing traditional for almost 20 years and I knew I’d have to make the jump to digital… and it is like learning everything all over again. A lot of tutorials skip the basics and assume the viewer has some grasp of digital. So I was just trying to figure it out myself and turns out I was doing a lot wrong. Who knew?! Lol. Anyway, best of luck in your digital art journey!
@@SwedePotato314 honestly so true. There's a lot of videos about what to draw, but not actually _how_ to do it. Like what all the tools do and stuff.
You're back!! and great timing too! I recently picked up digital art (and drawing in general) and was getting a little overwhelmed with all the different tools in the apps on top of practicing the foundations on how to draw. I've tried following other art videos and as great as they were, i find yours the easiest to understand and the most beginner friendly.

Hi Brad, I feel what you described: I'm a beginner, and drawing is a hobby for me. I wanted to learn more, so I got a drawing course that started with figure drawing. The course is great, but it is so ahead of my current abilities that it has been more frustrating than enjoyable. It resonates with me the idea of having small wins while learning the concepts and skills, I love that! I just got your course, and I'll complete it now and leave my other course for later. I just bought an extremely cheap drawing tablet and even tho I did not buy it for drawing specifically, digital art is something that has interested me for a long time, I just did not had the funds for even a cheap drawing tablet. I tried drawing on gimp (lol) but it wasn't fun and I felt lost, but this video and the one about hardware and software have really opened my eyes to the possibilities, so thank you for posting great content. Whenever my budget for non necessities increases, I'd like to purchase your course!

I picked up hipaint on my tab. Got humbled reeeal quick. This video is gold tho, explaining the basis for beginner beginners you know. Most ppl talk about the basics as if we all know what it is about.

You forgot to explain how to con your parents into buying you a $5000 tablet and another $500 art program. And also, you forgot to mention a warning that any art they put on the internet WILL be stolen and either used by someone else or sold.

Ive been thinking of learningbto draw. Im 36 years old can barely draw a stickfigure. My biological father was an artist, (a painter, among other things) and a comercial artist. He was brilliant. He did some artwork for some well known companies. He had a kind of photographic memory. When i saw some of his artwork my mothers friend showed me, i thought it was a photograph at first glance untill she told me what it was and i was completely astonished. Thats why i dont understand why i never had the interest or the natural skill. Maybe my inner artist is somwhere hiding inside of me waiting for the creativity to be expressed, who knows. Maybe ill never be good at anything

Tip for gross edges on fill tools.
On some apps, every click you make with the fill tool after the initial one expands the color all the way around by a pixel.
I know this works on Ibis paint and Photoshop, not sure about others though

What if I have no Apple Pencil and just my finger?

Thanks for making this, I've been looking for years for someone who would actually teach digital art in a way that was beginner-friendly. So many people just say you have to draw traditionally first, but with all the amazing art programs available I don't want to spend 2 years and a lot of paper learning the basics with pencils.

Good thing of digital art is you can change anything if you make a mistake, not start over. Bad thing is most of the so called digital artists learn some effects, like skin brush, realistic hair, sparking eyes, and completely forget about the base - body anatomy, proportions, perspective. Drawing is not a simple thing and one expensive tablet, some tricks and few online lessons can't make you an artist.

Digital drawing is amazing, but I'm a traditional artist trying to bring my skills to the digital world! I'm trying to replicate traditional techniques in Photoshop on my channel - any feedback or guidance would be fantastic!
I have 2 questions.
1. For beginners, would you even recommend someone to buy tablet/wacom or just start with basic pencil paper drawing?
2. For beginners, which one is e better choice? tablet or a wacom?
So I draw anime characters. I’ve always drawn physical, I have almost never created and actual drawing digitally. The only reason I have never drawn digitally is because I need a pen, and I dont have a tablet or ipad. I suck with drawing with my fingers.

if you really want a tablet i prefer the smaller and cheaper ones its not the best but its at the very least better than a standard phone

I need advice. For my genres of art, I need to create artwork that is realistic. What software do you recommend for me? I can't afford a subscription, need a one and done. What I need the software to do is for me to draw yes but, also, sample colors from photos that are in the public domain so I don't have to work so hard at mixing RGB colors. What do you think of Rebelle real paint software? Thanks for any help you can provide.

if youre really struggling like i was, remember that not all airbrushes are created equal. i tried to do this with csp's airbrush and i couldn't get it to work the way his does at all

I have a mate who’s just using open source AI to help him make his pictures and books. It’s so lazy! I would in no way call it his work. I wouldn’t even want to pay someone for it! i ryly... ryly dont know where to go with this ,so as my last resort ill try to reach for help here... maybe it gets noticed. i dont have a dedicated drawing tablet. i have a lenovo laptop with a touch screen and im trying to learn how to draw on it... but the problem is the screen keeps detecting my palm and it keeps drawing stuff under my hand without me knowing it and when i move my hand after iv done some work i see half of my work destoyed by some random lines my palm created and a lot of the time i need to go back multiple minutes of work back to find the moment when it was created. DOES some one know how to counter act it? i have the drawing glove, i have set in my lenovo pen an option to ignore hand touches when im using the pen... but the second i raise the pen to use color selector or to undo stuff it starts detecting my hand and creating randome lines everywhere... can some one help me with this one?

I bought your how to draw the zombie course thing in Illustrator on Udemy yesterday, even though I was going about to be hit with a hurricane. I was trying to set up my windows along with the course but the dang illustrator wouldn't let me draw anything with my XP-Pen Star06C drawing tablet thing. It would ding an error sound at me and I had some pencil icon with a NO slash through it. "what the heck is this no pencil icon??? why can't I draw a damn rectangle!??" I couldn't really do anything. It took me a while to figure out the pen had a toggle button for the eraser and I kept toggling it to eraser. I almost gave up. 😅
