Another important thing to mention is that Kobayashi demonstrated a masterclass at fuel saving as well. In the last 7-10 minutes of the race Ferrari told their drivers they still believed Toyota would have to pit for fuel, but Kobayashi made it work. Imola was an absolute pleasure to watch.
Like you said at the end, you're telling a narrative and that makes it infinitely more engaging than some half assed montage from the WEC channel. Keep it up, man!
Yessss babyyyyyy new Grooved Slick video!!!! Jokes aside fantastic content once again. These onboards are very cool to see and we don't see them that much in the normal coverage in the race, only replays. You can really see how much they struggle with the tires when they're cold. It must take you hours and hours to look through every onboard and commentate with so much passion so thank you for doing it with every endurance race. This weekend is 6 hours of Spa, I'll be trackside and cannot wait to see all these cars driving around the legendary circuit :) Also the battle at the end of the video between the Ferraris was so scary to watch hahahaha, 1 mistake from either driver and they would score no points. Thanks for including it!
Definitely enjoy your recaps more than any other source. Like most of the rest of the comments, you keep us on the edge of the seat and the onboards make it more immersive. Keep it up. Looking forward to the next video, and the next and the next.....!
I was here in Imola, first race in my life and I took mi reflex with me for taking some photos. I’m Italian and obviously i’m a Ferrari fan but also a cadillac fan. All the Ferrari fans goes angry for the strategies, but we appreciated the Toyota’s performance. I really love this Championship, also your videos 😎
I cant even describe how much i love your vids, watching your vids brings more joy to my heart than watching the actual wec/imsa highlight. keep up the good work champ!
Lets go!! Man, I absolutely LOVE your content. Nobody comes close in my opinion. I'm constantly binging your documentary type videos. Keep up the amazing work!
I definitely enjoyed your vids very much!!I understand making such detailed narration takes hours of work but it would be fantastic if u make more wec races! once again thank u for your work
I completely enjoyed this race, I like the Porsche Team, but Toyota did a great Job to win again. The rain moment was excellent seeing how the GT3 had more grip than Hypercars Thanks for the video and the bonus part ❤
I think you should have included a bit of Fuoco's final stint because he was absolutely flying, and if Ferrari made the right strategy call he would had just been pulling out the gap to Toyota so much.
This race to me personally leaves me with a few conclusions 1-Toyota was the team that best adapted to the drizzle and devised a strategy that allowed them to win the race, but it doesn't mean that they were the fastest car in the dry, clearly they are still a step behind Porsche and Ferrari both in one lap in qualifying and in race pace. 2- In hypercar for me the big surprise of the race which before the race I did not expect to be where they came to be almost fighting for a poduim and finish sixth bmw if I expected to improve but not something so great.sincerely I have been surprised for good
Porsche and Toyota were basically equal, Toyota were slightly faster on the straights mainly had better exit speed. While the Porsche was better through the corners. You could see at the end, Estre could stay with Kamui but just didn't have the speed to overtake because Kamui would just get those extra few metres off the exit of the final corner and then stayed clean the rest of the lap to stay ahead and win.
@@maxb148 the end is not representative due to toyota pitting early and needing to save a lot of fuel. they were similar yes, but porsche definitely wasn't faster, certainly not in race trim. 1. fer 2. toy 3. por
Idk what to think of de Vries having such success. It kinde shows to me that the best racing series is F1 by such a longshot. If the Worst driver in F1 is winning in WEC just shows how good F1 is, or how mid WEC is. Still a fantastic drive and it was a Fun Race. I think WEC will never really loose that feeling because so many ex F1 drivers are world class drivers in WEC. And Thank u für the Content, this is such a good channel for getting analysies about WEC!! Keep up the good work
Oh my god! A driver in a bop'd series where the car matters less, and is with a top team, is doing better than when he was in the slowest car?? I couldn't imagine that!! This is the same shit people say about Grosjean and Ericcson doing somewhat well in Indycar. When the car matters less, driver skill matters more. It also wasn't just Devries who got the success. It was a combination of everyone on the team, drivers and crew, doing an amazing job. As well as some lucky weather and great strategy. Devries is also an F2 and FE champion. He's not the greatest driver in the world, but his whole situation at AlphaTauri was just unfortunate. Partially on him, but he was also not given much time to improve. F1 just isn't a good show of driver skill.
I gotta say hats off to Toyota Inc for producing incredible cars for massive alike, finding great drivers like Mr k. Kobayashi Conway and D. Vries, Vanthoor and Estre, legend Porsche GT3 driver and Ferrari drivers, many exciting talents at once. All of them are fast, but Ferrari always faster it was destined. Incrediblely exciting times spent. This is very very fast. If only I could sell for Toyota, hahahaha. Impressive Toyota team all involved. Thank you, you continue to inspire us these possibilities.
0:02 cant dominate when you are rhe only car in the class "Battled" they got lucky. Lets be honest, toyota should never lose a race in hypercar cause they had a 3 year head start. The cars are slow, they didnt "battle" anything
Your narration of these races makes them much more suspenseful and interesting, Truly top class.
Pfp noice
I was about to say so
Agree, great narration 👍👍
That massive jump from Nyck de Vries shows why he is a Formula E champion. MEGA!
Move of the race for me, fantastic show of opportunism.
The WEC commentators said it the best: Toyota and #7 was so consistent, did everything right, and they are rewarded with the win

That last battle between Estre and Kobayashi was spectacular! Great video as always 😁
What a race and what a recap! Golden age of endurance racing and golden content from the Slickmaster himself! Bravo!

What a race! Your commentary really do show how awesome these races are and going in-depth with the strategy. Can't wait for the next video.
Really glad you enjoyed! Thank you!
Excellent work! Been waiting for this one!
Great job! Thoroughly enjoyed this video!
Love your videos. Thank you so much! Its amazing to get such a run through if you’re unable to sit and watch these races
Amazing editing work and even more incredible narration! Keep doing what you are doing!
These videos are excellent, please keep making them! Your passion for racing really comes through.
I always get happy when I see there is a new video from you! Can’t wait for the next one! Thank you! 😊
Keep doing these videos, they make getting into the sport so much fun

Why is nobody talking about that edit in 1:47?🔥I wouldn't have noticed it, if the timer didn't change. Keep it up!
haha I was waiting for someone to comment on that!
love your content man keep it up and hats off to the intro of the video
I’ve been at Imola for this race, such a shame to not see the Ferrari win, you helped me understand what happened, great video!
GREAT commentary! Love the video!!’ Please keep these WEC videos coming!
Grooved Slick analyses are like watching the race in 4D. Wonderful.
I completely enjoyed this race, I like the Porsche Team, but Toyota did a great Job to win again. The rain moment was excellent seeing how the GT3 had more grip than Hypercars

Getting lucky is a great job now??
@@km6832 ferrari screwed up, toyota took advantage of that, simple as
or is it? no idea, but that's the way i see it
Always always, great video! Thank you! Looking forward to the next
Love it please do more if possible, thank you
As a Toyota fan, this is exactly what I wanted out of this year. Not domination, but great races that show the strength of the team and drivers!
9:48 Seeing the Ferrari in the rear-view was incredible. Also Lotterer flipping off the mustang was great.
This is awesome subbed!
Damn man, you really making me relive this race as a Ferrari fan?😂
AMAZING CONTENT, im gonna watch this more often
I love these. Please keep making this content!
Great video and commentary
Holy crap that first defensive move was tense.
I've said it again and again. How much bop can you add before you're boping a team working incredibly well, rather than FAIRLY boping the car.
I think you should have included a bit of Fuoco's final stint because he was absolutely flying, and if Ferrari made the right strategy call he would had just been pulling out the gap to Toyota so much.
I was in the rivazza tribune when there was the battle between the ferrari , an increbile battle and race
Bro keep doing this stuff is amazing! Cheers
Italian race strategy is pretty infamous at this point!
_"Babe wake up, new Grooved Slick upload just dropped!"_
Love this video. You got a new subs
18:18 anyone notice him calling it a TS010 which was the LMP Toyota use to run 😜
old habits die hard 😂
TS-010 seems so 1999.
Another great video and thank you for the bonus at the end
thanks, glad you enjoyed that!
That ferrari on ferrari battle at the end is so typically ferrari.
Great presentation!
Love your vids man
New GS video!! LET'S GO!
12:54 Did those gt's have wets on? It was amazing seeing them overtake the hypercars in the wet conditions.
I love these videos
Thanks again man!!

Fantastic video. Here's hoping the Mustang relations can recover
Tensions have *never* been higher. 😅
Kudos for the Mustang .
I just found a gem in RUclips
Oh SHOOT this video came out of nowhere. Love it.
baffling pit strategy from Ferrari. taking a page from their F1 team I guess
Andre Lotterer: "I'm going for first!"
How or where can I get the inside view of the drivers racing? 0:35 I hate the new front view that they do for videos such as pole positions etc
simply lovely
Can someone explain to me the practical differences between a FCY and a VSC?
Thank you so much 💪
Thought you'd enjoy this one 💪
@@GroovedSlick legend 👏
Just like their time at Spa last year. Just fucked up their strategy
Porsche is back and hungry 😈
Does somebody know whats the little mini spioler like thing on the dashboard sometimes theres a little Light coming from it
I believe that is the traction control indicator
The Mustang 😂😂😭
18:15 TS010? Mate, Group C car no longer allowed to race in WEC now days 😆 /jk
😂 I noticed that in the edit, old habits die hard 😂😂
@@GroovedSlick Just pulling your leg, I enjoyed your commentary. Definitely waiting for your video for upcoming race at Spa.
Weird that Ferrari has any good drivers in their cars at all
Toyota FTW
