Well… even if we can’t try it I still would say the movement looks way more realistic than this. Don’t get me wrong. This is still better then the movement from DoD
@@harbingerrh Don't get why people complain about DoD movment, It really great. It has a big learning curve, it's probably the most realistic dragon flight we will get, even better (in term of realism) than portalworld or Dragontwins. And it's not to criticize those game, it's the gameplay of portalworld and and dragontwins are different and have different need than DoD.
@@saurus8657I am not complaining. I am just saying that i personally find the movement better in these two games. I my self played a lot of DoD and I like it. It’s just that the movement / flying is way more realistic than it is in DoD and that is just a fact.
The dragon movements on this game is actually really good! I love how slinky the movements are and it’s not so stiff like most dragon games. The only thing that bothers me with this game is the hovering movement. When you first started flying, the dragon was moving really fast in a weird hovering position and it just didn’t look very natural, maybe that’s just me. 1:35
Most other dragon games are indeed too stiff but this has the opposite issue, it's WAY too fluid. Flying animals rely heavily on rigidity, this is way too slinky and breaks any and all suspension of disbelief if you happen to know even surface level of how biological flight works.
I'm not sure if PortalWorldDev has it active or whatevs But the dragon kicks off of surfaces that it flies into!! And the maneuverability is so sick!! No more stiff kite dragons!! :D
Yo, look at that movement. It really looks dope. Thank you so much. It is so nice you also do your own dragon game. Thanks for sharing. Keep up what you! :3
I actually must agree, it does have pretty good movements. The wing anatomy is good (I always like to compare it to bat wings, which is why I like to favor day of dragons with how their dragons fly), the movements are fluid and you can move however which way you want. It's good also RIP wolfy
Pretty sure this is just Irval the Wyvern asset base wing animations/takeoff, with some more fluid/bendy physics allowed in the body. Kinda looks...not great, if i'm being honest. The movement is snappy, as if the creature has no bones, the wings just do whatever they want. There's no account for size and weight, either. Even Dragon Twin isn't a great example of how an animal of this nature would move (their wings are over-flexible/break a lot while turning), but it's a much, much better example than this, since they at least account for the creature's size. Most birds or bats can't do what's shown here. Flight has rules of movement, here we see none. If we're talking about the most true to biology dragons in games right now (at least from a flight standpoint), I'd say the best are things like some of the modded Path of Titans dragons (especially some upcoming), Day of Dragons (as much as I hate to say it, they still have some of the most organic looking flight), and Dragon Game Project. Although, I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what other people make, animators have to be really familiar with weight, physics and animal anatomy/behaviour/locomotion for these things to look good. Flight is hard to animate, especially on a fantasy creature. Even the film industry has barely ever got it right. I also wouldn't trust any of this so far, it looks scammy and directionless. 7 months of posting, and most of what they've shown is the same motion experiments that rely on an asset animation base, so what have they been working on, really?
Yes, this 100% I hate when game creators make dragons' wings move around too much as if they're using flags to fly with no bone structure lol they wouldn't be able to actually fly like that (it's also why I like how DoD makes their dragons too).
Dragons can’t even exist in the first place. If we’re ignoring the rules of nature let’s ignore the rules of flight too. How about actually having fun with a cool flight system instead of shitting on it because it “isn’t accurate”. Also portal world has a direction. It’s trying to be a survival game where you evolve from one thing to another. It definitely doesn’t look scammy either. They had to split the wyvern away from the regular demo since it bugged out.
Dragontwin is far better animations than this, as the dragontwin uses an AI to calculate whats going on instead of making fixed animations. If you are looking to steal animation inspiration from anywhere, I'd defo go toward Dragontwin as long it's not getting too taxing on frame rate and crashes.
Best movement you ever seen?? PS3 dragon game "Lair" had better flying animations lol and that's saying a lot considering how mediocre it was, also that was in 2007... truth is there's such a lack of decent dragon games, that even something like this is considered to be good when it's really not, wings look made of cardboard lol
Considering this person probably learned all of this themselves, we can't just judge them like they know what they're doing. I'm even making my own dragon game for school and I barely know unreal engine. It's very unfair to be like "Well this isn't good because I don't like this wings." I think it's good because it's rarely seen and is in early early development.
@devilchomps3295 I'm not saying no effort went into it, but this just isn't good by 2025 gaming standards, regardless of if they learned by themselves or not. how is it relevant considering people are probably giving money to whoever is making the game already? I'm not buying a school project but potential dozens of hours of entertainment. This is not a "let's just appreciate the effort" situation, it's a product people are supposed to buy. Surely calling it "best deagon movement" is quite the stretch lol
You do realize even AAA devs use market models to save time, yeah? You might as well call them all a scam too. Not defending DOD just pointing out how stupid you sound
tbh im tired of every new creature game being survival themed. Someone needs to be different and actually give us a campaign story mode with quests and choices that change the gameplay, different locations and maps, power ups, etc. So tired of "start from juvie, grow into adult, survive other players." and the entire gameplay is just afk once u find food & water, or hide from clans and basement dwellers that kill you before you can even hit adulthood. A game with graphics on par with Century: Age of Ashes but not entirely focused on repetitive pvp modes....something new and refreshing is needed.
NOT MY GAME
Check description
You should steel the movement 😂
@Salty_Donut god no
how did you change fov? doesnt work for me
Movements are definitely a good source of inspiration, but not perfect. Also I like the way the camera changes with the way it moves
the flying animation in this makes me think the animator has never seen a flying creature in their life
It's still a work in progress.
It looks good bet I think dragon twins movement is a bit better
We don't know about DragonTwin yet since demo isn't out yet

Before more people comment that the flying looks a bit iffy, remember this creators game is also a work in progress.

with camera movement delay this would be perfect, and more noise in the head placement
I love the game. I hope you finish it and able to allow people play it.
There is a demo on the disco.
Omg yessss I’m so glad you finally got to check it out I’m so excited to see what you have to say 😆😆😆😆
11:16 aye! You finally did it 0v0
w make it so you can hold grab for like 5 sec
Is a pretty cool game tho i will be confused with W and S to be up and down for a while but it will work, nice video
GUYS IS THAT LOW TAPER FADE REFERENCE???
Just wait till dragontwin
I anticipate ALL Dragon games for we rarely get games.
GREAT WORK TO ALL DEVS!!
Unless you're a scam. Then you stink.
You should play Savannah life in Roblox
NICE! I loved the skins!
Obviously hasn't seen dragon twin.....it shyts on cgi movements, check it out yourselves
I knew you would find that game
I prefer the dragon twin movements
I hope you could add a dragon like toothless like js have the abilities of toothless but with different design
What is the game called
How did you change the fov? I click on the minus or plus button and nothing happens
