I have a older (2005) Current Designs Kestrel 140 with sliding rudder controls that will be upgraded to these. I appreciate the video. (and the heavy sigh at the beginning) :D Thank you!
What should the position of the rudder be when terminating rudder cable on rudder? What should the postion of the foot pedal be when terminating cable on rudder?
HI Eugenia, Start by tying a knot in one end of the cord. Feed the cord through the hole in the base of the pedal from the inside end closest to the bow. The inside is the part closest to the track. The route the cord through the tab on the top of the pedal. The pedal should be vertical or 90 degrees to the track in what would be the normal brace position. Tie another knot in the cord with a little bit of slack. The purpose of the cord is to keep the pedal from falling back towards you (to the stern) so it is always vertical and ready for your foot. If you have more questions please give us a call.
If you are using our footbrace but it does not use the micro adjuster you will find a small hole in the track just above the adjuster rod clamp that you can route the cable through.
Hello Connor ... yes, you are correct, it is a 1/16" stainless steel cable. Most every paddlesports shop stocks it (or, you can probably find some at you local hardware store as well). www.sealectdesigns.com/groups/1436-rudder-cable Thanks again, and please let us know fi you have any other questions! Have a great afternoon!

How do you attach the wire without the micro adjuster?

Can i use spectra cord instead of steel cable ?
that is certainly an option.
Could you add the diameter of the cable used? Is it 1/16th inch?
