ohmygod you are AMAZING you gave *exactly* what i was looking for in just a 1 minute video, without all the garbage youtubers put in their vids. 10/10 best tutorial ever.
Hey, I have my PC and Ubiquity equipment hooked up through the same ethernet going through the same router on the same Wi-Fi network as my my ubiquity switch, cloud key gen 2+, and my two G4 pro cameras. When I go through and do everything you did in the video it works great, but when I put my PC on a different Wi-Fi network, it does not show the ubiquity feed in OBS studio. I have closed and refreshed all of the ubiquity website tabs, deleted the link in OBS Studios and repasted a new link, I have been working on this for days. Is there some kind of setting I need to change to allow Ubiquiti to send the signal to a device on a different network? I need my ubiquity cameras and other ubiquity equipment offsite in a different location and I need the PC to stay at my house that’s why they need to be on different networks.
Ok let me reduce this to its parts to see if I understand correctly: Your camera and ubiq equip is all at Location A. It's filming and recording there and is connected to Location A's wifi which is connected to the internet. Your computer is at Location B connected to Location B's wifi which is also connected to the internet. You want to take the video from Location A and stream it to the internet using OBS studio. OBS studio needs to run on a computer, which is only available at Location B. Ok there's a big missing yet redundant piece here which is sending the video via the internet from location A to location B to then stream it to the internet.... Using the instructions from this video, yes your experiments are correct this will ONLY work if everything is on the same network / wifi, you aren't doing anything wrong in the settings. The problem is trying to stream from your PC on a different network/ wifi than the camera equipment. I had the exact same situation actually and I had to invest in a small computer (laptop) running OBS studio to leave onsite and using Remote Desktop, I connect from my location B computer (miles away) to control that Location A laptop to manage all that and make sure everything is running smoothly. There may some other workaround so if anyone want to chime in please do, I'm assuming you don't want to spend hundreds on dedicated streaming computer right now?
@@Live-DIY yes this is what im trying to do and I really don't have the money to just get another computer, I guess I'll have to figure out a different option. But definitely tag me here in the comments please if someone finds a solution.
SAME. EXACT. PROBLEM. I have a dead g4pro camera. My PoE switch also died the same time, maybe coincidence. I tried opening the G4Pro but there was nothing to fix. I have thrown it all in the trash. I was already pretty upset that you can't download footage in bulk so I was done. I suppose you can call them and complain but I have never returned anything in my life and I wasn't gonna start. Good Luck!

Thank you! That's what I was going for. It takes so long to make just a short video I can't imaging adding garbage on top of that!
Best tutorial video I have ever seen. Thanks for getting right to it!
it worked. I've been searching for hours. Thanks

Nice video, good work.
Perfect! Thanks!
My g4 pro has stopped being detected online. Only the backlight diodes are lit. It does not respond to the reset button. Tell me what can be done?
