Could have been better, but my old computer was chugging to playback at 1/4 resolution... it was getting to the point where i couldn't edit that part anymore :/
I rarely if ever comment but that transition blew me away. I wish Fromsoft could have put that specifically into the game if they weren't so crunched during development.
just found your chanel, this is incredible, not just the effort to collect EVERY DAMMED ITEM in the game, but the fact it's animated. You sir have gotten yoursef a new sub.
Man the effort put into this is INSANE. And yeah, it's nostalgic in a good way. Playing games that are familiar always feels like visiting home, in a way. For all it's grime and whatnot, dark souls can be a surprisingly cozy game when you're familiar with it. Thanks for the memories (did something similar on ps3 for the platinum trophy back in the day, hahah. Good times.)
I feel this way about all of Fromsoft’s recent titles. Replaying them is like visiting an old friend. The Witcher 3 also gives me that “Aaah… I’m back!” feeling when I start a new play through.
The music, the video length, the subject matter. The constant animation tricks you use to integrate your character (Especially the lighting). This is a good one.
Havent even started the video and liked it. You the only content-creator I genuinely love to watch and even comment on. I know I am in for a treat now.
Absolutely FANTASTIC video! As someone who's collected all the items as well (Minus Jeremiah's gear. I kept forgetting that guy and I haven't gone back to do him yet.) this was very relatable. I'm so glad to see another complete it, and the way you incorporated your character into the gameplay was so well done. I'm looking forward to seeing the other games as well, should you do the same thing.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it! Yes I'll be doing more videos like these, planning on working through the other Dark Souls games if things go to plan :)
After i watched this i thought "Holy shit, this was so good, i should subscribe to this guy" and turns out i was already subscribed, haha. This deserves so many more views... Some frame compositions were really cool.
La forma en cómo contaste tu historia de forma cómica en dark souls, mas la animacion mientras lo haces, es sin duda divertido en su originalidad. Buen video Freddie Twenty.
I did this challenge earlier this year. Completed my "Living Dex" in Dark Souls. Glad to see I'm not the only madman so obsessed. Beautiful animations, to boot!
About to play Dark Souls 2 for the first time, I've only ever watched lore videos and Happy Souls, never a playthrough... I'm gonna be like an ecstatic tourist going around taking pictures :P
This video is incredible. It is a love letter to one of the greatest games of all time and a cinematic experience with expert shot composition, excellent writing and pacing, stupidly good animation and relatable humour. It is also a challenge run video with detailed explanations of problems faced and solutions found! After having watched it I am amazed that it is both a great emotional tribute for veteran players and an exciting hook for someone who never played Souls before. Video of the year for me, mate.
That's the plan! Might be a two-parter for Dark Souls 2, one will be the first playthrough experience (never played or watched someone play it), and the other will be getting all the bits and bobs :)
This is really amazing. Way better than watching a quick item grab playthrough. I appreciate the work put into this, and the vaati lore part was hilarious too.
I can't imagine the amount of work all your little animations and lighting must have taken. Absolutely amazing work, I was fully entertained and invested the whole time.
I think I could watch a hundred videos like this. Somehow, animating your own character in place of the player character is such a unique idea, and yet I'm so surprised I haven't seen anything like this before because it makes sense and works so well. Aside from that, the video flows nicely and it's just a really fun watch.
Dude, I am Enthralled with this series you've made!! Super excited for the next one. Also, love the concept of jumping between games via fog-gate. Brilliant!
I freaking LOVE this "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" style of blending your animation with the in-game footage. 😋👍 This is the first video of yours I've seen, but I'm definitely subscribing and checking out the rest!
What a great random video to pop up in the recommendations. Very cinematic and fresh takes on both DS challenge/videos and animation. I love it Excellent job and congrats on the result
Thank you for this video and all the wonderful cinematography. Dark Souls has never looked more beautiful than when looking at it through your eyes. My favorite scenes were of you up on the tree in Firelink and the backlit view of the item in the Catacombs. You have injected a sense of awe into all the places in Dark Souls that I have only ever thought of as dark and dreary. Plus, the combination of 2D and 3D is always wonderful to see.
Dunno if this is just me riding a bit of a 2D-blended-into-3D-backdrops high after watching Who Framed Roger Rabbit? for the first time but I am SO in love with how this video was presented. Loved how you integrated 2D characters into the actual settings of the game and I think you did a great job of making it look genuinely believable with the lighting and the camera movements and everything. Really causes the atmosphere of the original game to hit different, ngl. Absolutely needs more views. Keep up the good work! ❤
Can't add much that hasn't already been said, this is the first video I see from you, it is amazing and incredibly well done, and the amount of work shows. I hope this video is picked up by the algorithm. Liked and subbed and made this comment cause I couldn't wait until the end of the video, keep up the amazing work but don't burn yourself out, we wish for more ✨
I can only imagine the hard work that flowed into this video, I love it! A lot of jokes that we will understand as fellow Dark Souls enjoyers and wonderful editing makes this one of my favorite Dark Souls videos of all time. Good job dude, this video was so much fun to watch and the feeling of beeing in this world again really came through
I don’t play dark souls games Elden ring was my first and I’ve played it over 5-6 times all different builds (Except shields I’m sorry but screw shields) The Dedication but more importantly the amount of LOVE you have for these games is paramount to your dedication and I gotta say I respect it 👏👏👏👏👏👏
As it turns out, Seiglinde was in fact, cutting an onion. With violence. Repeatedly. Even though she didn't want to. Because she loved her father too much to let him waste away.
For future playthroughs if you’re trying to farm Humanity in the Tomb of the giants before reaching Nito there’s a pool of water and there’s baby skeletons that spawn fastest way to farm humanity.
Thank you for adding the "LEGITIMATELY" Was on the official DS3 discord asking for help a month or so back and I was ridiculed by everyone for not wanting to cheat in items. It actually flabberghasts me how little those people give a shit about earning what you get, and how unbearably toxic they are. It's an entire game series based around getting better and earning your rewards, cheating something in is pointless and defeats the purpose of playing I'm sure you were referring to a glitch or something, but the end product is the same: A cheated item that you shouldn't be able to obtain at that time.
DS3 from what I've gathered has mostly been a PVP playerbase for a number of years now (might be wrong), and I think a lot of people cheat in items for a PVP profile.. maybe they didn't read what you wrote and just assumed you were going for PVP... either way they shouldn't ridicule you for it :/ Oh! that area where you can see Sif over the wall, I'm not sure if it still works but you could get up there when it's supposed to be blocked off and cheese Sif from there, it is very possible to duplicate items or just spawn them in.. but I like the challenge... and i wanted to Knights Honour achievement >:)
1:34 Don't even remind me, plus you need to be extra careful when choosing what you make sword of Artorias from. If you don't pay attention, you might end up with two regular or two cursed versions of the sword and voila - no achievement for you, go to NG+3 and try again.
45 minute long animated documentary to dive into the reasons why the door is stuck, and if the door is ACTUALLY stuck, how stuck it is and who's fault was it
I just have to know how you track your character so well! Did you recreate the scene and add a 2d image of your drawing into the scene? Or is it classic tracking using a bit of elbow grease and time? Also awesome video, genuinely entertaining, I realy like these somewhat longer videos!
So next is bloodborne right? with all the chalice dungeon weapon variants? and all the random blood gems? Sounds fun, right? Also this video better blow up soon, cause there is too much good shit here. the light moving with your character, the expressions, and by god that painted world transition! glad I found this lol.
@8:44 You don't have to kill Shiva for the Murakumo. Giant skeletons that wield the same weapon have a chance of dropping it. The Iron Round Shield that Shiva has equipped though... So never mind.
yeah i read that in the wiki whilst finding the easiest way to get things short of wasting more time farming, killing Shiva once his no longer useful saves a lot of time and effort, instead of a 2% base change skeleton farm in firelink
Collecting every item is hollow knight involves a lot of random swinging at breakable walls and the final 3 charms you have to get take about as much time as getting 180000 souls
Had a look at that game, I played through Limbo not long ago and I enjoyed the jumping puzzle elements to it... watched the trailer for Hollow Knight.. it looks to be similar... but with a bunch of stuff harassing you as well as the puzzles... is it frustrating?
@FreddieTwenty Depends, in my mind there are two things you’ll be doing throughout the entire game. First you’ll be exploring and filling out a little map. It’s super fun and satisfying to find every secret and completely fill out a map. Secondly you’ll be running into a boss room over and over again until you either tear out your hair or die so many times you’ll eventually beat it without ever taking damage. But the game isn’t completely brutal and the more you explore the more options open up. Without spoiling anymore all I can say is it’s like Mario and Dark Souls had a baby gave it a knife and taught it how to speedrun. Couldn’t recommend the game enough and I’m still amazed only 3 people created it. Ps: Don’t get attached to any of the characters except ElderBug. He is worth it
the transition to the painted world at 19:16 was really well done!
