    Hi Mike. Great vid as usual. Thanks. Do you have a vid on setting up the recording resolution so you don’t get the black sides on the Mac screen. So the recording is in proportion with a RUclips vid. Also, request for setting up Screenflow to use a script. I did see someone recently who very quickly alluded to setting up a proportion of your screen for the recording, so you had room on the right or left to add a script, but didn’t show how you can possibly use smaller area for the screen cast? Hope this makes sense.

    Hi there, Mike! I’m wondering if you can help me by explaining in detail what you use to connect your Canon DSLR to screen flow in order to use it as a secondary video input source.

    • @MikeMurphyCo
      @MikeMurphyCo  Месяц назад +1

      Sure thing! I use a Canon M50 II connected to a BlackMagic Atem Mini Pro Switcher into an M1 MacBook Pro. I use ScreenFlow to record screen and the BlackMagic as an Input/Camera source. Let me know what questions you have. 👍

      @@MikeMurphyCo thanks for this. Yesterday before upgrading my OS on my M2 MBP from ventura to sonoma, I was able to see a camera input option for Canon EOS Webcam in the options for Screenflow where it gives you the camera options for what to record. But now, it doesnt pop up as an option. Im not using the HDMI out on my Canon R8, rather - I'm using the USB and connecting it to the computer. Do I need to buy a Atem Mini Pro Switcher for the canon R8 and screenflow to be compatible?

    • @MikeMurphyCo
      @MikeMurphyCo  Месяц назад

      @@SharkPixel ScreenFlow is finicky with cameras and it doesn’t help that they haven’t had a major update in over 3 years so they keep falling behind in compatibility. I’ve never had much luck using direct to computer and using Canon utility app. I also have had issues with CamLink 4K which is small and convenient, but spotty. The Atem Mini is not perfect and i occasionally need to unplug and reconnect, but it’s pretty consistent overall.
      I will say that I never have the connection issues when using eCamm Live (in case you want to try an alternate solution or use multiple apps) that I do with ScreenFlow, but I like the editor in SF and I’m fast using it.
      It’s been awhile since I looked, but you might look into the Rode Switchers as they seem pretty handy, but Atem Mini Pro is pretty good for under $300. 🍀👍

    what if I want to record screen system audio and mic in rodecaster pro 2 as separate audio. When I try multitrack i get a buzz for some reason. Any ideas?

    • @MikeMurphyCo
      @MikeMurphyCo  2 года назад

      Where are you hearing the buzz? In your headphones? Do you hear the buzz when you play back a recording?
      In 'Configure Recording' of Screenflow, you should just be able to select your Microphone from the RCP 2 on one Input and then create a new Input and select 'Computer Audio'
      If you need more help, please provide as many details as you can about your workflow and any settings you have made in Screenflow, so I can better understand. 👍

    How do you record a USB headset on screen flow without audio but also recording an external USB microphone with audio
    And computer audio?

    • @MikeMurphyCo
      @MikeMurphyCo  2 года назад

      I'm not 100% certain what you are trying to do, but if a device is available as an input, you can select it in the Configuration window and record multiple devices. If you are trying to record multiple USB microphones, you may need to create an aggregate device in the 'Audio Midi Setup' on your Mac. If a track records audio in Screenflow, you can always mute it if necessary. 🍀

    Can you record a Zoom meeting with Screenflow 10? with audio from zoom including any comments you make in the meeting as well? Thanks again for the great video!

    • @MikeMurphyCo
      @MikeMurphyCo  2 года назад

      Hey Sam! Yes, you can use Screenflow to record everything you see on your monitor (Zoom meeting + comments, etc) and check 'Record Computer Audio' and you will also record the audio that is playing on your computer (Zoom). For more control over the audio from Zoom, you may look into Loopback or Audio Hijack where you can isolate the audio recording from Zoom.
      Bottom line: Screenflow should handle it, but just do a test run first and make sure you get the results you want before your next Zoom call. 🍀

    Great video tips. I have a question that is unrelated to clips, (I did not see you had video covering audio) so… I am putting this question here: I have experienced the visible audio (sound wave in time line) sometimes flattens out as if there was one volume, or no audio. I can hear the audio play however, the issue is in ver 8/9/10, I have not found a resolution have you found a fix?

    • @MikeMurphyCo
      @MikeMurphyCo  2 года назад

      This is a Screenflow bug that I really do not know how to replicate, but happens from time to time. If you just ignore it, the waveform will usually render eventually or you can Save, force-quit and re-open Screenflow and the waveforms should be visible. 👍🍀

    Is it possible to export these as individual files to edit say in final Cut? I like the recording aspect of screenflow but the edit is not as efficient inside screenflow as final Cut. I want to figure out best way to export each individual file.

    • @MikeMurphyCo
      @MikeMurphyCo  3 года назад

      Just curious why you are needing all of your Screenflow edits as separate clips/files when bringing into another video editor? You could easily split the clips after bringing into Final Cut.What is the desired workflow you want?
      If you want individual exports in Screenflow, you just need to drag out a selection wmd select File,….Export Selected Range.

      @@MikeMurphyCo I would like screen recording and my webcam video separate. There may be many instances that I want to enlarge the webcam video then cut back to the screen recording with the webcam in the corner. I would like for instance the screen recording, webcam and audio to be separate files but same length and not lose quality and be able to bring those in final Cut and edit as needed.

    • @MikeMurphyCo

      @@matthewpateofficial Got it and understood. The ability to export individual tracks as files would be a nice feature to have and hopefully they add it one day.
      The workaround would just be to export multiple versions of your timeline and I would likely select a lossless format (Apple Pro res) so you do not degrade the quality when importing to FCPX. To export multiple versions you can use the keyboard shortcut V to disable tracks you do not want and just repeat the process so each source will have their own export. I may include audio on each export so you do not run into sync issues. Good luck 🍀👍
