Quick note - This was my first attempt at this "Underground AI" concept. It's longer than I wanted it to be but I'll get it more and more dialed in with each new video. :) I think this could be a good way to bring attention to smaller tool creators that are building cool things as well as to expose tools that feel like money grabs. Excited to see this series evolve.
If there are tools that you've come across and want me to test in the next one, let me know. I'll pay to test tools that others are curious about. :)

This style of video is much more interesting to me. I think the future is hyper specific tools that excel at one task. So this is a great way to discover those and actually use them in one’s workflow.
100% agree! I realized the value of more narrow AI based tools earlier this week when Adobe released AI assistant in Acrobat. It works amazing for talking to PDF’s and cites sources. I struggled for month’s with trying to achieve the same outputs from GPT. Cheers!
@@madebyskovie I think people underestimate the value of niche tools that leverage AI to do something really well. Yes anyone could try and get ChatGPT or Claude to do something (and usually it's possible) but it's just way too much work usually!
Technically anyone "could" write automatics and scripts to help speed up tasks at work but no one does ;)

Honestly this is why I started watching you in the beginning, all the tools came out so fast I couldn't keep up and you were showing me things I had never seen before. Now it's all the large corporations taking over not only the technology but my favorite AI RUclipsr! Everyone covers OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, etc. extensively. I do enjoy your coverage of it the most but, this was refreshing! ❤❤

Anyway yeah keep making these videos, these will be fantastic resources for everyone to know which tools are actually good. You could also keep a ranking of the top 10 tools as you go along with this over time.

This is a video all prospective AI entrepreneurs should watch. I’ve been telling founders to rethink their prices for years when submitting to our platforms and while the majority of them do listen eventually… it shouldn’t be like pulling teeth.
Simple pricing people can understand and consider fair is crucial for initial growth.

**edit: tbh, I’m convinced you could start (and monetize) a sub-group of “fans/viewers” specifically interested in testing, supporting, or giving feedback to early-stage apps /sponsors / affiliates etc. 🤔
The problem reviewing all these tools is only a few of them offer something really unique. For me I got a fast computer so before I consider anything on the internet I look for a free local LLM I can install with pinkie
Even if you can you can host a good gpu with space for less money than he paid for a 11 sec video. All these small company are artifacts of last 2 years when decent open source models where not very good or required to much computing power to run locally or very complicated to run.
Keep the 'Underground AI' train rolling Matt.
Maybe flesh out 4 or 5 tools you find most useful or atleast do what their intended to do well and allocate your bandwidth commensurate to each tool's complexity/depth. Love the work.

This is excellent. We all hear about the ‘big AI’s’ all the time, so it’s really nice to see what some of the AI’s that don’t get the big push are and whether they’re actually useful.

This is very beneficial as many of us either don't know what the softwares are doing or we don't know the difference or the extent to which it can be used. And with so many AI tools coming out constantly, it's hard to keep up with what we don't know is possible.

@mreflow This blew my mind, I asked this question Claude 3 Opus to "Lets think for a second about a hypothetical situation where a genni in a lamp could grant an AI LLM one which possible. What would that wish be? I want to use this idea to write an story." Do it your self, it will blow your mind, it says it want to experience feelings.
I'm interested in more videos like this especially if you continue to put them through their paces and compare them to other tools (if available.) or if they were outliers/niche ones.

This is definitely a valuable use of the channel and more what I expected when I originally subscribed.
I also like the AI news that the channel ended up becoming.
I suppose the latter is more useful for personal interest and the former is more useful for practical things I can use for working on projects.
