    Can you advise on using a headset for mic while also sharing music? Any tips on this would be appreciated. Think guided meditation scenario - need some soothing background music AND a way to share my voice while not necessarily being right on top of my computer.
    Thanks in advance!

    • @loganclements
      @loganclements  2 года назад

      Thanks Natasha! It really varies depending on the mic/set-up you're using and the media player. I'd suggest recording yourself in Zoom and playing around with the different settings for both the music (volume in the music player) and your mic settings in Zoom. I had to do that for just figuring out my microphone and then I made notes on what my mic was set to for future use. That should help! If you want people to talk over your music, I usually have the music at 10% of volume in the music player (like iTunes, Spotify, etc.). It'll sound quiet to you but I promise when sharing it into Zoom, it's much louder but the only way to do it is to test and record yourself or have a friend hop in the meeting too to provide live feedback. Hope that helps!

    If I was an Event Planner or in a business where I was in charge of meetings, then all of what you shared would be very valuable info. I am 'filing' that away for a future possibility.
    I personally teach Spiritual Practices and simply need to have chill music whilst I'm teaching. And I believe I heard what I needed (although I don't remember my share screen being set up like that.)
    Could your content have been streamlined, perhaps. What I would recommend is just changing the title of this vid. That will do it.

      If you're streaming your Zoom meeting to RUclips, Facebook, or another social media platform, you will need to be concerned with copyright music. My suggestion would be to play royalty free music only (RUclips has a great royalty free music library that you can download from). If you're just hosting in Zoom and not posting it publicly anywhere, you don't have to worry about copyright music!

      I had this happen to me on an account that had "Multiple People screensharing at the same time" enabled. This is a setting in the backend from your zoom.com settings. I think Zoom disables it to avoid music overlapping. Click settings on the backend in Zoom.com and then search "Screen share" and the option should pop up!

    hmm I always Do this for my yoga classes. I started recording class lately, I lost music half way through last time on recording . I don't know why? wondering if its because someone came in late recording said recording in progress . it still said sharing but I think it got lost . could it have been the interruption ? I still heard in my AirPods .could not hear on recording.

    • @loganclements
      @loganclements  Год назад

      Hi Lorianna, interesting. Yes, it sounds like when the person came in it could have impacted the music. Did the rest of the class confirm that they could still hear your music for the second half of the class? Another option is that you accidentally stopped screensharing the music. Since you're playing the music through your computer, you would hear it in your headphones but the attendees wouldn't hear it. If your students who attended live say they could hear music the whole time but your recording is missing it halfway through, then I'd reach out to Zoom support since it sounds like a glitch on the Zoom side.

    • @loganclements

      Hi Erin, I would suggest us this video to screen share the audio only from your computer so you'd be playing the Spotify playlist on your computer and screensharing just the audio into Zoom for your attendees to hear. That allows everyone to hear your music but keeps the focus on the live video of yourself and all of your attendees. Let me know if you have any other questions!

(Not through share option) whenever I'm on a zoom call and play music using my phone, the music sound can't be heard by other participants but they can hear my voice. This seems to be more of an issue on HP laptops. Have you or anyone found this to be a problem ?

    • @loganclements
      @loganclements  Год назад

      Zoom is probably suppressing your music audio because it thinks it's background noise. If you go into your Zoom audio settings, you can turn on original sound (which turns off Zoom's auto-suppresion) and that should help balance some of your audio. But the most reliable way would be to share your computer audio only and share the music from your laptop/desktop

      Hi Carrie, unfortunately at this time, you can't screenshare music from your phone into Zoom. One work around would be to try to use the desktop version of your app. If you can only use the app, you can play the music on speaker phone and put that next to your computer speaker, just make sure you go into your audio settings in Zoom and disable "Background noise suppression" so it doesn't auto surpress your music.

    What about am performing on zoom meeting, can use the same way to play background music while performing? And what about am playing music from youtube, and I dont want others to see my music?

    • @loganclements
      @loganclements  2 года назад +1

      Hi Jesse, it depends on what kind of performance you're doing. You can talk over the background music, but I've found some performers like to control that balance of the music and their voice/instrument so I'd practice recording yourself in Zoom to ensure the balance is what you'd like. If you're playing music from RUclips, I would suggest downloading it so that you're not streaming it (and risk it buffering while live) and then play the music through a media player, iTunes, etc. If you're just sharing the background music, the attendees won't see your screen, just hear the audio from your computer.

    Can I play background music only on a mobile device?

      Hi Gus, as of right now, you can't screenshare music from your mobile device into Zoom. You will only see that option if you're using Zoom on your desktop. Hope that helps!

      The free version should have the background music screen share function. I'd double-check that you're using an updated version of Zoom. Feel free to book time with me if you'd like to troubleshoot: www.loganstrategygroup.com/

    If I am teaching a tai chi class and would like some background music - how can I do that without sharing screen which would mean people could not see me

    • @loganclements
      @loganclements  3 года назад

      Hi Bill, you can also share just the music - go to "Share Screen" and then click advanced and you can select "Computer Audio" and that way you could share the music during your class but also spotlight yourself so your students can still see you to follow along. Hope that helps!

      Hi GK, yes, even if you are muted and you are sharing background music, attendees will still hear the music you're sharing. I do recommend testing this first to make sure you're properly sharing the background music into Zoom.

      Hi Nico, yes you should be able to share music from RUclips using this feature. As long as you're playing it from the same device you're using to host the Zoom Meeting, you would be sharing your sound directly into Zoom.

    • @loganclements
      @loganclements  2 года назад

      Hi Dominique, glad to hear it worked but yes, one of the tips is to lower the level of the music in your music app (iTunes, Spotify, etc) to about 10% of the volume. It'll sound low to you but I promise it'll be bumping in Zoom. If you'd like to test this, either invite someone to a test session in Zoom to find the right volume for your event or if you just have yourself, you can test this by recording yourself in Zoom and then watching the replay

    Great video but your recap is redundant and not as important as... What would be more helpful is to see an example...of a background picture with music.

    • @FairytalePalace
      @FairytalePalace 3 года назад

      You started to talk about adding a background picture and showed us how to click the bottom 'add sound' button but then you unclicked it. I got confused and had to go back. just fyi. I realize it's because you were not showing a picture but I'm just curious about sharing a background picture and then going into the sound option. Will my share screen show the participants what I am doing and take the picture away while I am adding the music and show that instead. ?

    • @loganclements
      @loganclements  3 года назад

      Hi Pat, great question and I can see how that could be confusing. You want to start playing music on your computer and have your background image up, before you hit share screen. You need to check share computer sound when you select which program you'd like to also share. If you start sharing a slide or image first, you'll have to stop sharing and restart to add in the music, which would be noticeable for your participants. Does that help?

    what about an mp3 file if you don't subscribe to these music things?

    • @loganclements
      @loganclements  2 года назад

      Hi Becky, you definitely can play an mp3 file, you'll just need to open a program on your computer that will play those files. When I've had music sent to me by a client, I can use mp3 files but my computer will still open them in iTunes for playing purposes. I do recommend having the mp3 files instead of streaming if music is an important part of your presentation/event

    but can i share just someone else’s computer audio?

    • @loganclements
      @loganclements  3 года назад

      Hi Ringo, you can't share someone else's computer audio for them but you can enable participants to share and someone else can share background music while you're speaking. The hard part is that you can't share from two different computers at once, ie. you share slides and another person shares music. But I often share the music/slides while my client/speaker is the one talking. That helps take pressure off the speaker!

    It was an informative presentation…I think! You need to slow down and take a breath once in awhile. You talk at 450 words per second with gusts up to 800 words per second.
