I have a pair of Evolve 30Ms and the app is fabulous IMHO.
For those asking about comparison here is what I was able to see and hear. I was able to do a side by side with the PRX One, EV50 and the Bose L1 16 at GC the other day. The PRX in my opinion sounded better than the EV 50 right from the start. I made sure all of the db and eq levels were as close to the same as I could.. I felt it had better lows.. Mids and High were comparable. The Bose low end blew me away but the Mids and Highs were off a little... I also felt the connection point of the Colum on the Bose was in a bad spot and it uses a cheap feeling plastic spacer. I can easily see that snapping. The JBL won the overall test with a good quality sound, nice low end thump with the lowest price point. The EV50 has always looked sexy and it beats the other two in looks. The Bose was the highest price with the cheap feel concern on the Colum connection but boy does it Thump the other two out of the water. I decided to go with the PRX One and will be getting them soon. I look forward to Bens battle of the Speakers!
Did you compare vertical off axis sound? Lke if the audience is seated, or the PA is on a stage? It seems like only the EV has a J curve to deal with that?

All the mobile DJs running RCF and EV column arrays probably are the best comparison. I'm eyeballing these if JBL is right about the volume output.

Great to see PEQ and hopefully useable fx on board, this will be all the mixer that most mobile events need. Looking forward to the day when a 3way (or 4way) column unicorn system comes out, I'm spoiled with compression drivers on wave guides. When is the embargo over on the VERTEC ONE?

I would like to see a sound comparison between JBL PRX and an HK Audio Polar 12
Polar 12 is a Chinese made OEM speaker from SoundKing, it's called Artos 1200 and the sub is made from MDF
@@EnmandsBand1 well, I ran them last night and they sounded awesome. The sound and lighting engineer also commented on how much he liked them as well. I ran them as hard as I run my QSC K12’s and my Bose 812’s. They held up and didn’t clip or anything. That said, everything is made in China and they copy and use other peoples engineered items and sell them on the side.
Don't know if anyone has mentioned it, but would love to see and learn the comparison between Yamaha STAGEPAS and JBL PRX.

What are your true opinions of the jbl prx one's? I put them side by side against my evolve 50m's and the jbl prx one's sounded clearer and louder to me
100% same. I returned my Evo50 and got the PRX One instead.
In Australia, the rrp of the jbl is very competitive at $2599. Both the Evolve 50M and RCF Jmix 8 are at around the $3K mark meaning that the PRX1 is really giving them at) stiff competition and both RCF and EV will probably have to lower their rrp prices to be competitive if the prx really is as good as is) it's claimed to be!

Great video sir and thank you. I’m wondering when putting signal through a mixer into the prx one, which inputs would you use ? Line in or xlr ? Does it make a difference? I’m not as well schooled as you sir but was intrigued to know if there was a difference
EV Evolve 50 please. I'm looking for a speaker for my electronic drum kit, and am looking seriously at the JBL and EV. The problem I've had with conventional speaker boxes is they need to be pointed at me, or I loose too much top end. This makes it hard for the band to hear them, or the audience to get the best sound. I like the wide off-axis dispersion of the column speakers. And your test of the EV Evolve 50 showed how great the off-axis response of this speaker was, with a virtually identical measurement at 60 degrees, to head on. I'd be interested to see how the JBL responds at the same 60 degrees. Thanks for doing meaningful tests, I've had to wade through a bunch of "reviews" from people using their phones to record the sound.

Great review as always! Can you give any insight into the level of "sound bleed" out the back of the column. Perhaps perform the same test with mics 10ft in front and another 10ft directly behind. I purchased the Eon One MKII and was not happy with the amount of wasted sound energy going directly out the back of the speaker. Then having that energy reflect off the wall, adding mud to the sound. :/

I had both, sold the Evolves. Maui 28 G2's all day long.
@@djtravismcguire why do you like the Maui 28G2? I'm also looking at one of these after comparing it side by side with both Evolve 50 and Evolve 30M and much preferring the sound. It wasn't as loud as the 50 but it sounded fuller and warmer IMHO.
@@madness8556 the Max SPL on the Maui 28's is only 1db less than the Evolves. EV won't publish the continuous SPL, but my bet is that it is less than the Maui. The Maui is better constructed, has mid range drivers, and the feedback resistance LD Systems tech into their speakers is second to none. Oh, and is $400 less per unit. The Evolves aren't bad, they are just over-hyped and there are better/less expensive options out there.
@@djtravismcguire thanks so much for your reply. I also found that the Evolve 50 was lacking midrange even after changing settings, whereas the Maui had better mids and had more of a 'hifi' sound about it than the Evolve which was more high quality PA with a lot of high and low end.
Bose L1 pro 16 or 32 vs PRX One please
The EV EVOLVE 50M can be paired to a second 50M via an Ethernet cable to operate as one larger system with double the inputs. Can this also be done with two PRX1s so that their input count is doubled and they operate as a single larger system?
Theres no RJ45 jack on the PRX One to do that with.
@@NLFXpro the Yamaha Stagepass 1K allows you to use 2 XLR cables to connect 2 systems to behave as one larger single mono system with double the inputs.
Looks nice for a wedding etc. I have my doubts for a rock/metal bar band 2-300 people.

I've just got one and it can only manage to blast about 85dB 1 meter away in front. I thought it is able to play at 120dB -130dB. Am I missing something?

Why don't use a pink noise auto eq. First to eq the room. Then do the speaker pink noise test

I have the EV EVolve 30M but I want either another one or a more powerful one like the PRX One or the Evolve 50. It would be cool to see power (dB) and frequency measurements with the two systems next to each other

There is now a JBL EON ONE V2 that seems to be very similar. I saw it on a Canadian pricelist and European online seller. Seems very similar but looks to have half the number or array speakers. Has anyone seen this?
Question: Can you use both the app via bluetooth and also stream audio via bluetooth at the same time from another device? Or is it all from one device only?

Straight into a line or a pair of line ins. The Combo jack sockets automatically detect the signal input type and adjust accordingly.
Can someone help me decide between this and Bose L1 Pro16?
If this compares to Pro32, then from price point I choose Prx.

i think for use in a club setting for a band all the dsp’s. and inputs
are a waste. Most users will control this from a main mixing board which will have all those
effects and eq’s built in. For a band use i would much prefer. to see the 12” speaker
replaced by a 15.
I can see this when no board is being used like a acoustic act in a small venue. As a current
Evolve. user for one of my small systems, I never use the built-in effects or would need
7 inputs.

I couldn't get AFS to work at all. Have you had luck with the PRX ONE's DBX AFS to ring out the feedback?

If you got your PRX One from NLFX please contact our customer service team or your sales rep, we’re happy to provide support for the products we’ve sold. Basically the AFX works similarly to the AFS found on a drive rack.

Hi, I currently use a 8 year old qsc k12 (origional) with the k sub. This sounds great but is harder to transport and lug around for me . I’m looking at this as an alternative. Do you think it could be as loud ? On paper it says it’s the same . Also do you think it has as full a sound as the older qsc pa ?
Ps I use this with an electric guitar mic and backing track .

It has a full sound but probably less low frequency and less overall output, however it’s much more compact and has a much wider dispersion.

Maybe small clubs, we're reluctant to advise putting MUCH kick drum through it.

Can anyone comment on how these sound while guests are at their seats and speeches are being given?
As I understand it - They sound great once you're on the dancefloor (Standing up), however as the speaker alignment in the column are NOT set up in a true J curve, the sound is apparently very muffled (almost unintelligible) while guests are sitting down and speeches are being given. If this is the case I'll have to look at other options.
Would love to hear any feedback from anyone that's heard them while sitting down...

When you put bodies in the room you dull the sound as it bounces and gets absorbed by bodies and reflected by heat.
Indeed, comparison with Evolve 50(M) would we exciting. And also with Yamaha Stagepas 1k (also 12 inch, but half of the price...)
Yamaha Stagepass 1K has lower 119db SPL. Saying that, it's at a cheaper price point than the jbl and it's great that you can run 2 of the Stagepass 1Ks as a bigger mono system with double the inputs.
