I played 80 games in the Ch-To, and not 1 game was tier 7/6. I played every game in a tier 7/8 game. I sucked. But the WG outside of Russia, is a total grift anyway, with different owners, game, and all. Of course I am free to play.
0:46 the main thing keeping this thing back from being decent or fun, is the lack of viewrange and 420 HP at tier 5, when there are tier 3 tanks that have more HP, in fact there's a tier 2 tank that has the exact same HP as the Ho-Ni III
I remember when the line came out, and i got a Ace on the Chito SP within the first 5 games. Feels like every line in WoT will have that 1 busted tank in that makes no sense for how good it is.
Meanwhile I struggle to ace it. 6k damage many times, over 1500 base XP and still 1st class. You need nearly 1600 base XP to ace it. Shows how stupidly good it is
I have played with both ho-ri 1 and ho-ri 3 for 2 months now and I was so hyped to try them out. I will make a thorough description of my experience with the tanks and in the end provide my conclusion. Long read incoming. Ho-ri 1 is a very awkward tank to play indeed. It is pretty slow, has a very derpy gun, has very bad armor if not playing hull down even against tier 7 mind you and it is a very tall tank, so good luck hiding and/or finding a tall enough hull down position. If played agaisnt tier 10 or tier 9 with high pen, just don't go with the heavies or you will get steamrolled due to lack of tall enough hull down positions, huge tank profile and especially the derpy gun. Just like AE Phase 1's gun, the shell flies towards the edge of the circle most of the time, so hiting commander's hatches is way harder than it seems. The good part is that if you meet tier 7/8 or not so many tanks with high pen at tier 9, you are a monster in disguise, especially if played from the back (not FV4005 levels of camp). Ho-ri 3, just as Max sais, is very underwhelming until you get the final field mod, which despite giving you only 4 km/h extra, it is a night and day difference. Also, don't get fooled by the "heavy style" field mods from tier 5 and 7. Always go for the concealment options as those turn you into a pretty hard to spot tank. Now, in regards to the tank itself, it is fast enough, tho it lacks a bit of power to weight ratio, armor is far better than ho-ri 1's in front (sides are extremely weak) due to it being tinyer and the lower part is angled well, while the upper part of the tank tends to bounce a lot more shots than the ho-ri 1 despite having the same 300 mm of armor. The gun needs its own part as it is a very coin flippy gun. Sometimes you get Leo levels of precision with it, not missing absolutely anything, other times it is even worse than its predecesor. I have mostly experienced the bad side. For example, in my last game, I fired 15 premium shots before being mauled. Out of those, only 3 went through, while one was bounced by a lucky Objekt 140's Russian tracks. The other 10 shots went in the ground, not reaching the tank and ome of them went to the moon. In regards to playstyle, due to the gun being placed a bit lower than the tier 9's td, it is a bit harder to hit shots over tall obstacles (like fellow dead teammates) and you can also play, if strctly necesary, with the heavies due to your armor being more trollish (in a good way). Moreover, just as Max said, this tank makes you feel like you are out of options sometimes as it feels weird to play it from the edge of the map, even tho you should really play it like that. Idk why but this tank makes me wanna play it like the Jag and sometimes I speedrun my way to the garage by listening to this inner voice telling me to go in the frontline, espdcially that there are games in which you decide to actually play correctly and sit in the back, but either your team destroys the enemies and you do nothing in the end, or your shots literally miss everything. Conclusion 1: Ho-ri 1 (5/10). I hate derpy guns and this tank is obsolete if played from the back with that gun, but you can't play it in front either due to flat armor and insanely tall profile. Very frustrating to play for me. Consclusion 2: Ho-ri 3 (8.5/10). The gun is far less derpy than Ho-ri 1's, but it definitelly has its lows and when those lows hit it becomes really depressing, but when you have great games, holy f*ck does this tank feel satisfying. Also, this tank is extremely fun to play of you accept that there are a few games in which you will be useless and if you are a pacient player that doesn't play with the heavies but FOR the heavies, sitting behind them, supporting them from the bushes.
Noice. I've been grinding this line. To be honest I don't really think about access to field mods when a bigger more relevent gripe is not having access to the top gun.
I personally love the Ho-Ri line. i enjoyed every tank, except the tier 6. And the Ho-Ri 3 really is the best tier 10 i researched so far: in my 5th game i did 9.8k damage. Its just a beast and i love it so much. Nice video!
So that is to be nerfed. It has way to much good thing in compere to bad. Non other tier 10 Td apart from pre nerfed 268v4 had it. Jp e100 is slow and have no dpm, more troll gun. E3 is slow as well and got nerfed.
The premium AP pen is relatively tame compared to Blitz, it has 380 base AP pen over there. And by base I mean we have a piece of equipment that increases penetration by 8/5/13/8% for AP/APCR/HEAT/HE respectively, so you have 399 AP pen.
Im on 46 top speed finally all field mods. When I win side with Ho - ri 3 sometime Im able snipe grille or any far medium tank from other side. Im worie with P. Ze100 maybe not possible not know but guess...If Pz e 100 win side he's able to farm tanks on a other side? I guess no...whats is one of advantage of Ho Ri3... I absolute love this tank have 200 battles with it.. But a lot modul dmg a more fires than normaly btw in our langue when something fire we say - Hoří xdd Otherwise very fun and powerfull tank when trades go well gun not trolling batlles goes pretty quick... against 8 tier mm is absolute beast. I grinded the line when it first was released and I don't regret it. The Chi-To Sp is certainly my go-to tank after a really bad session. The Ho-Ri 3 is a weird one. I had some of my best and worst Tier 10 games in it. The gun has a mind of its own sometimes, but when it works, oh my! It certainly has the potential to be one of the best TDs on Tier10 .
Just got rid of the Ho Ri 1, cant say I liked it much. Seemed to catch on fire every battle, twice on some occasions! Felt very vulnerable with the lower plate armour being so poor. Accuracy was lacking too. Hopefully the Ho Ri 3 tier 10 will be better! No fires please!
I think the tier 7 is THE BEST tank tier for tier. Comparable to the chieftain pre nerf level of power. Have 3.7dpg in around 15 games. Anyone else shares my opinion?
So in other words the Chi-To SP, already one of the most overpowered TDs in the game tier for tier, gets literally more camo without camo net or exhaust than a Skorpion G with? Huh i didn't know about that quik specifically
Just an opinion but it looks to make sense. They want more people playing tier 7 than they do 8. So they give us a tier 7 that can deal with 9s and 8s better than the tier 8 you must grind to get through the line. Didn't make it easier to get though it at all, that tier 8 was painful. While the Ka ri is perhaps the best tier 8 td much less the best premium tier 8 td.
I broke down and got the Tier 7, which I skipped to get the Tier8, as I found most 7s need to be passed over. NOt minding it so far. My prob is owning TOO many tonks, and then flipping around etc. I'm usually `based on the Tree months or Dailies and such, and I have my faves i.e. the infamous Harry Hopkins, which I use to usually get Dailies done. But I'm a scum with it i.e. nothing but Gold rds 😮😁 Currently I have 81 Aces in the silly thing LOL I'm not a great player, but I guess than most Casuals at the lower tiers. Also, why should all the Clubbers have all the fun. Thanks for sharing, Max! o7
Think I disagree, they are all fine and around 5/10 at least, even if some of them have a bad top speed their engine power to weight more than makes up for it (with the exception of tier VI because of ground resistances but that's the only one in the line), even If they are slow in sense of having to come somewhere they are almost all agile making it tricky to pen as soon as you have 105mm and below and aren't firing gold (which maybe doesn't happen as rarely as i think nowadays but still, think it happens enough to justify the tier VIII being at least a 5/10 if not 6 depending on whether someone likes the base things this tank offer: good alfa, good pen and everything else fine)
Ji-Ro barely reaches 40 km/h if you throw it down a cliff. And pray that you won't have to go up a gentle slope... Oh, and don't forget the 5° gun depression. I'm keeping Chi-To SP though, WG probably snorted the whole glue factory when they designed it.
'Best'? Hardly. Decent... yeah, it's okay. The tier 9 to 10 grind is painful beyond agony. As soon as I complete the grind I am dumping it and use that new conversion mechanic to get an actually useful tier 10. The tier seven is the only place it actually shone. But, that said, they're still VASTLY superior to the joke that is the polish TD line with 'front line necessity and back line armor'
Is this game worth playing as a whole... NO. But if for some unknown reason... you decide to play the game (cough... coughgambling cough coughaddiction cough cough...) You may as well Grind the HO-RI
The tier 7 is comical as if it is hull down and a tier 8 comes to it, it needs premium rounds to pen it. Some tier 8 have such bad premium rounds that even those struggle frontally.
dude if you had this Tier 7 and Prem. KA-Ri....you be having SPLENDID GAMES all the time....i did with the RENTAL Ka-Ri doing 2K HP per games.......lol
Oh man, i thought ji-ro is the only suffering I'd have to go through on this grind. But tier 8 and 9 are similar. Not really fair to have tier 7 broken op and the rest of the tanks pretty much garbage until tier X
The Ho-Ri 3 shows how good balanced tanks are in this game. Usually you get really bad stats in one area of mobility, firepower or armor. This tank has at least decent stats in every area. I think they will nerf it at some point, but I'm not sure because it takes all the field mods and a decent player with a good amount of experience to unlock its potential.
I free expd this tank and have about 10 games. Still figuring out how to play it, but so far it does feel quite awkward as I'm mostly a med tank player. It does feel good to pen is7 cheeks with gold tho.
Absolutely worth grinding. The only pile of sh*t is tier 6, tier 5 and 8 are playable, tier 9 is good, tier 7 is extremely good and ho ri 3 is very good - the modern day 263 (comparing to back when 263 was tier 10)
Bro, many people view this Tank as THE BEST TD in the game. Sure, the top speed is only 35, but what do you expect? This tank has a beautiful gun, with an beautiful alpha and can bounce here and there. This tank has everything, but doesnt specialize in anything. Hands down, the best, if not one the best TD's in the game. Sure E3 has armor, but you drive like a snail. The Ho-Ri 3 is best when played by a good player.
Can anyone answer this for me: does the crew level add anything to the performance of the tanks, besides the skills you select. So for example, is a lvl 6 crew without any skills selected performing the same as a lvl 1 crew? Or is it that every time the crew gets a level their performance improves automatically?
Only skills will change the tank. If you have no skills selected, and you have 6 available, the tank will perform exactly the same as if it has no skills trained.
Wait you are final judging these tanks based on the stock tracks and engines? Come on man! You got to be kitten me that you expect people to take you seriously when you review a tank and don't even research all the modules? Well no effen wonder you think it is slow. lol It helps the tier 9 way more than the 8, that tank is irredeemable but still worth trying it. The tier 9 super structure is easy to angle back. You have -7 depression so on slight hills you can bait shots into that huge mantlet and the super structure. Also because the hull is so long you can reverse out of danger faster than people think. Also something you aren't mentioning is the new crew skills. Gunner having concentration is huge early game, armorer, quick aiming, snap shot, are huge early in the grind in that order. I have stopped using BIA repairs and camo. Like I know where to sit and deal damage, and late game that much alpha is huge and easy to finish people off. You didn't mention the great HE pen either. 90 HE pen is insane. 80 at tier 8 is insane. Keep in mind all the paper tanks and early load HE and blap them. 515 damage at tier 8 and 840 at tier 9. 149 caliber with the AP means good chances for overmatches as well if you get engine decks. It is like a big Ferdinand and I am a fan of that tank as well. Historically mainly but it is still amazing in game at times too. Tier 10 assessment seems fair but you do have a great crew. Though again not using concentration. Hard to tell from your gameplay with one game as well, but yeah it is a preference thing, aggressive tds aren't for everyone though it often needs played passive and it's gun can still be pretty derpy. Still nice look into these. Thanks!
Unpopular opinion, but hear me out. I don't think the Chi-To SP is overpowered. I think the bulk of T7 tanks are underpowered. I don't remember when it happened/which update it was, but years ago, WG reworked health pools for low tiers. They did this for T1-6, but not for T7. In addition, T8 power creep from 2016-today has been insane. T8 is a wild tier where some tanks could be moved to T7 and others moved to T10 as-is. T7 never received compensatory buffs, so there are still tons of tanks with alpha, health, penetration and armor values that were balanced for 2016, but not today. Those tanks have to balanced enough to fight T5s (and generally are), but also powerful enough to contest T9s (and generally are not). This was true in 2016 and the problem has only worsened now. T7 is effectively in permanent +3 MM as it regularly fights OP T8s that may as well be T10 (Bourrasque, EVEN90, BZ176) and T9s and never sees T5-6 because of how few people play it relative to the 3/5/7 template matchmaker. IMO Chi-To SP is only overpowered against T5, which it doesn't see much anyways. It's one of the few T7s balanced for today's game. T7 remains the least popular "real" tier in the game. WG hardly ever releases T7 premiums anymore and T7 has the fewest tanks in the T5-10 range. There is a reason why. WG knows they've ruined the tier and can't fix it.
Honestly isnt even close to best one of the best X tier or X tier Tds. 2 things what very negative suprise me on it is how extremely delicate it is. Even when im shooting in it.. grille 15 blocking/bouncing more shoots. And second thing how unacurate it is. Doesnt matter how big/small is max dispersion if sheels flies all the time on the circle instead of center. From all line tier 7 is nices, but have minuses as well ofcos.

What i also find scary about facing the tier 10, is the treatcherously fast traverse speed. It turns deceptively fast

I just got the Ho-Ri 2 and Ho-Ri 1 yesterday
excellent breakdown, I decided to stay at Ch-to SP and have fun. There's a lot of other turretless TDs at higher levels
I use turbo rammer and rotation on the tier 10, and it made my experience 10 times better with hitting the shots

Tier 7 is actually only tier left where you cam have fun.
3 and 5 if you are accepting being called seal clubber
with him I got my top damage, 4.8k, not much compared to the others but when i finished that battle and saw the results table i couldn't believe it

Chi To SP is basically Su-100M1 pre nerfs and with 320 alpha instead of 250, no way it doesn't get nerfed in the future
Tier 7, 9, 10 make this line a pure dream
The armour values for Chi-To SP and Ho-Ri 2 should be switched
Chi-To SP can push hard and bounce even tier X, while Ho Ri-2 gets "lucky bounces" sometimes.
You really came around on the Ho-Ri-III, I remember you saying it was mid at best a while back
Once you have all the field mods and stop playing it up close, it's a completely different tank.

Ho-RI 1 doesn't at all feel slow (I use T1 exp. turbo). It's very nimble, just doesn't gave the top speed for drag racing.

The Chi-To SP should be a premium tank. I think it's the best of the entire line. I don't think the Ho-Ri 3 armor is severely lacking.
Even though the JI-RO is slow at tier 6, your opponents will have to be pretty quick to deal with you or lose another 300hp 7 seconds later

Chi-To SP is enough for me, because it can wind stand any T8 and T9 with ease
The tier 7 is comical as if it is hull down and a tier 8 comes to it, it needs premium rounds to pen it. Some tier 8 have such bad premium rounds that even those struggle frontally.

Oh man, i thought ji-ro is the only suffering I'd have to go through on this grind. But tier 8 and 9 are similar. Not really fair to have tier 7 broken op and the rest of the tanks pretty much garbage until tier X
The Ho-Ri 3 shows how good balanced tanks are in this game. Usually you get really bad stats in one area of mobility, firepower or armor. This tank has at least decent stats in every area.
I think they will nerf it at some point, but I'm not sure because it takes all the field mods and a decent player with a good amount of experience to unlock its potential.
It shouldn't be nerfed. They have no reason to. On the other hand. That didn't stop them touching the Progetto 65...

Is the playstyle similar to the Jagdpanzer 100? When i grind a tank line i like to have diffrent playstyles, and i already got the Jagdpanzer.

I free expd this tank and have about 10 games. Still figuring out how to play it, but so far it does feel quite awkward as I'm mostly a med tank player. It does feel good to pen is7 cheeks with gold tho.

Absolutely worth grinding. The only pile of sh*t is tier 6, tier 5 and 8 are playable, tier 9 is good, tier 7 is extremely good and ho ri 3 is very good - the modern day 263 (comparing to back when 263 was tier 10)

Bro, many people view this Tank as THE BEST TD in the game. Sure, the top speed is only 35, but what do you expect? This tank has a beautiful gun, with an beautiful alpha and can bounce here and there. This tank has everything, but doesnt specialize in anything. Hands down, the best, if not one the best TD's in the game. Sure E3 has armor, but you drive like a snail. The Ho-Ri 3 is best when played by a good player.
Maybe its my skill issue but my WR with the chi to sp is abysmal

The tier 6 is one of the worst tanks I've ever played, and I was in the trenches for the M3 lee and the Medium 3
The tier 10 disappoints me the most because in blitz this thing can have up to 410mm prem AP

360 AP is enough, you can shoot a lot of heavies right through the turret

Can anyone answer this for me: does the crew level add anything to the performance of the tanks, besides the skills you select. So for example, is a lvl 6 crew without any skills selected performing the same as a lvl 1 crew? Or is it that every time the crew gets a level their performance improves automatically?
Only skills will change the tank. If you have no skills selected, and you have 6 available, the tank will perform exactly the same as if it has no skills trained.

Wait you are final judging these tanks based on the stock tracks and engines? Come on man! You got to be kitten me that you expect people to take you seriously when you review a tank and don't even research all the modules? Well no effen wonder you think it is slow. lol It helps the tier 9 way more than the 8, that tank is irredeemable but still worth trying it.
The tier 9 super structure is easy to angle back. You have -7 depression so on slight hills you can bait shots into that huge mantlet and the super structure. Also because the hull is so long you can reverse out of danger faster than people think.
Also something you aren't mentioning is the new crew skills. Gunner having concentration is huge early game, armorer, quick aiming, snap shot, are huge early in the grind in that order. I have stopped using BIA repairs and camo. Like I know where to sit and deal damage, and late game that much alpha is huge and easy to finish people off.
You didn't mention the great HE pen either. 90 HE pen is insane. 80 at tier 8 is insane. Keep in mind all the paper tanks and early load HE and blap them. 515 damage at tier 8 and 840 at tier 9. 149 caliber with the AP means good chances for overmatches as well if you get engine decks.
It is like a big Ferdinand and I am a fan of that tank as well. Historically mainly but it is still amazing in game at times too.
Tier 10 assessment seems fair but you do have a great crew. Though again not using concentration.
Hard to tell from your gameplay with one game as well, but yeah it is a preference thing, aggressive tds aren't for everyone though it often needs played passive and it's gun can still be pretty derpy.

Unpopular opinion, but hear me out. I don't think the Chi-To SP is overpowered. I think the bulk of T7 tanks are underpowered.
I don't remember when it happened/which update it was, but years ago, WG reworked health pools for low tiers. They did this for T1-6, but not for T7. In addition, T8 power creep from 2016-today has been insane. T8 is a wild tier where some tanks could be moved to T7 and others moved to T10 as-is. T7 never received compensatory buffs, so there are still tons of tanks with alpha, health, penetration and armor values that were balanced for 2016, but not today. Those tanks have to balanced enough to fight T5s (and generally are), but also powerful enough to contest T9s (and generally are not). This was true in 2016 and the problem has only worsened now. T7 is effectively in permanent +3 MM as it regularly fights OP T8s that may as well be T10 (Bourrasque, EVEN90, BZ176) and T9s and never sees T5-6 because of how few people play it relative to the 3/5/7 template matchmaker.
IMO Chi-To SP is only overpowered against T5, which it doesn't see much anyways. It's one of the few T7s balanced for today's game.
T7 remains the least popular "real" tier in the game. WG hardly ever releases T7 premiums anymore and T7 has the fewest tanks in the T5-10 range. There is a reason why. WG knows they've ruined the tier and can't fix it.

Honestly isnt even close to best one of the best X tier or X tier Tds. 2 things what very negative suprise me on it is how extremely delicate it is. Even when im shooting in it.. grille 15 blocking/bouncing more shoots.
And second thing how unacurate it is. Doesnt matter how big/small is max dispersion if sheels flies all the time on the circle instead of center.
From all line tier 7 is nices, but have minuses as well ofcos.
What do you think about using improved rotation system instead vents?
