I have a lot of sympathy for Fani Willis. As much as I think the relationship with the special prosecutor was bad judgement (for optics, but not legal conflict), she was under unbelievable amount of pressure while facing constant death threats and had to move out of her home. She felt lonely. It is easy for others to pick on her after the fact when you can't even imagine what she had to go through day to day. She is human yet we expect her to be perfect all the time.

Ron is wrong about the issue of AG Fani Willis. She did her job and is doing her job so well that the state legislature and GA Court system are behaving outrageously malevolent. She had a romantic affair that did not affect the case she was prosecuting. That is not a crime, nor is it a reason to remove her from her position Or stop the prosecution of this case.
I think he is wrong too. No conflict of interest so she needs to be left alone to do her job. Trump is scared of her, hence the nit-picking.
Didn’t trump criticize the judge about attending his son’s graduation, but then flip flopped when he was given permission to go saying that the judge shouldn’t show partiality to him. Can’t win either way with him.
The only good news is that he is 78 years old and in lousy condition.

There is something deeply corrupt there in the background that appears to be slowing everything down and I believe Merrick Garland is somehow involved, as if someone very powerful is influencing him!
I'm inclined to agree with Anthony, also not having any law degree, however, I have been following American politics closely now for many years from NZ, especially over the past 10 years and while all the experts may say, "No that will never happen!" but all the signs for us tell us "Yes, it will!" and eventually it does happen and they just shrug and say "Ah, Yeah, These things happen." as if it's of no consequence, not important at all and move right along, same game elsewhere. I've never really trusted Joe Biden always suspecting that he will eventually sell out the "Progressives" when it is expedient to do so. I think there are so many weird and wonderful powerful "Groups" and everyone seems to have one foot in one or other of them and someone always has someone else by the "Balls" and no one can be "Trusted"! Justice is "Not Equal" In The USA for everyone! "That is as I see it!" As George Orwell put it, in Animal Farm, "All animals are equal, but, some animals are more equal than others!"
It is very unnerving to see how low the bar has been set for politicians to conduct themselves. Luckily we have Anthony and Ron to relieve our anxiety.
How did the "documents case" end up in St. Lucie County? The crime was committed in Palm Beach County? That's very odd to me. Also, if we're voting for someone who may have stolen Top Secret shit and done GOD KNOWS WHAT with, don't we, as Voters, deserve to know if he did it???? If she is saying the dog is vicious, attacking people and livestock than relinquish it, but to shoot an untrained puppy (her fault it's untrained) is cruel. She is so full of it. Evidently the puppy was overwhelmed with killing the chickens that it "attacked" her. That pissed her off enough to kill it in a rage of anger, truly disgusting. And it sounds like Cricket was a pet with access to her children and not a vicious beast kept locked up. I am not buying her BS and neither are a lot of my fellow Americans.

I don't think it is plausible, I suppose not impossible, for a puppy to "attack" their owner....please. I come with my receipts in the dog world, and I have to say, I've never seen or heard of a puppy violently attacking their owner. The following interviews, as she made her book rounds, were confirming of the kind of person she is. Omg, she thought she was so cool showing those journalists how tough she is-you're interrupting, you don't do that to Dems; you are asking me more questions than you did.... It was ridiculous. I'm surprised she hasn't already been the VP choice. They'd do so great together. Not for our Democracy, however.
Kristi Noem has plenty of money to hire an experienced & compassionate dog trainer to stop attacking livestock. Besides being unloved, it is possible the dog had some kind of chemical imbalance & if necessary a qualified vet could have given the pet some medication to calm him down.

She does not deserve to be a pet owner. Everytime she has told the story, the dog has become more and more vicious. It is almost crazy to watch the progression of this little monster puppy. I would have gone to get him if I had known he was so vicious~I think that was the last word I heard her use. Imagine a hunting dog hunting. And killing aa goat because it smelled bad. (Although I know it had one more issue too). I guess her kids lived, so that's one thing.

Can our current system of justice hold a criminal with unlimited funding, political clout, and zero morals accountable for their crimes? Not seeing it.
I'm not Ron, but I'll chime in. Last year Trump was found liable for rape and defamation with the outcome of a judgment against him of $5 million. Next he was found liable for defamation and punitive damages for a judgment of $83.3 million. Most recently he was found liable for fraud and conspiracy to commit fraud for a judgment again, this time for what amounted to $464 million. He now sits for a criminal trial with a judge who has iron control over his courtroom. We're anxious to toss him into jail, but we've got to let the justice system work, as cumbersome as it is sometimes.
The honest answer is probably, No! It is all about "the Show", the perception especially where they are able to create and push a convenient culture. The greatest chance you have is at the Ballot Box and you would at least need a "Landslide" and even that is no guarantee of success, but, it will expose yet, another group of "Bad Guys"!
The dark forces of politics must never prevail!

Perhaps Fani erred, but sleeping with a subordinate is not nearly as egregious as most MAGA maneuvers and it hardly interferes with her ability to do the job. The Trump team trying to disqualify her for such a thing would be funny if it wasn’t so typically hypocritical.
Desperation makes trump team look for any possible distraction to delay the inevitable conviction of their client. Plus, they have to impress trump with the cleverness trump demands or get fired.

Unfortunately, the justifiable anger and revulsion that many feel towards Trump clouds their judgment when they read comments that don't simply condemn Trump, but deal with more nuanced matters. Yes, you are correct: Were these trials to conclude before America's presidential election, every American would have critical information about Trump's criminality, and such information could well sway undecided voters and perhaps even convert some Trump- leaning voters.

Best Friends Animal Society worked with Michael Vick's dogs to rehab them. 2008, 22 of the most traumatized dogs came to Best Friends, where the quest to rehabilitate them began. I was pissed to hear Ron Filipkowski put down Fani Willis, the lady who had ended the relationship before the trial started. He was not her first choice as the Prosector. So they dated, the case is based on the evidence, let the jury decide. It is not about who she is dating or their romance. Damn! Donald will throw anything on the wall to delay a trial.

The number of people needing to be investigated and charged by Garland's office was enormous upon him taking office. Before even getting his feet wet he had to deal with literally thousands of violations and violators re the Jan 6th insurrection. As he claimed at the outset, he started at the bottom and working his way up through the instigators , which of course leads to Trump. Unfortunately the case was far larger than he ever imagined, and the number of people charged and processed was huge. The people near the top was huge as well, and in interviews Garland kept explaining that no one was above the law and that they were working their way through all the evidence. Realizing at last that there was more than he could probably get through during his term in office, he brought Jack Smith on board and Jack could just concentrate on the Trump aspect, which he has done a great job on. I don't think an Attorney General has ever inherited such a monumental task in the history of the US, so I sympathize with Garland, however even being new on the job, or should I say especially being new on the job, he should have recognized sooner the magnitude of the task, and got more help sooner. I can't imagine being Garland coming into a new job and immediately being faced with this when you don't even know where the washrooms or pencil sharpeners are kept. Organizing staff, knowing who does what, and all the procedural organization while trying to negotiate a huge criminal case must have been overwhelming at first.
And that was after Trump gutted his office.
Only after Trump declared his candidacy did Garland appoint a Special Prosecutor.
I believe Garland offered Smith the position long before Smith arrived. Smith probably had to finish his Hague work and move his family first.
@@MonkeyHill1955 Did you think Garland was going to let it go on forever? If Biden didn't get re elected, his job would end at the end of Biden's term. Trump could see the charges coming and made a rush to announce his candidacy, thinking they wouldn't charge a presidential candidate, but like Garland said, "the law is the law, and nobody is above the law." The biggest crime would be if Trump is not held responsible for the election interference crimes and trying to overthrow the government. That has got to be the worst crimes a president of the United States has ever committed. Bringing Smith on board was not a snap decision, it took a lot of planning and scheduling on the part of Garland and Smith. It is not like either was sitting around waiting for something to do, and Smith has an investigative team that moves with him.
Additionally, the Senate Republicans slow-walked confirming him and he was unable to begin the task until March 11, 2021. Jack Smith did have to wrap up some details at Le Hague but he also had a health problem he had to address before starting this job.
She never said they didn’t. She and he admitted they had a brief romance. How did she fall short? She handles more cases than just Trump. Everyone wants her to be a lonely woman. Her dating a regular civilian with a full security detail…. That wouldn’t work. I’m a little disappointed to hear you guys shame DA Willis for being human. Before we knew anything. Their relationship had already ended, no conflict of interest, no mishandling of any funds. GA law makes its plan

Wasn't Jack Smith preparing for another Hague trial and then recoveting from a serious leg injury when Merritt Garland asked him to handle the charges against 45? I feel that should be taken into consideration when blaming Garland for dragging his feet on bringing those charges. In addition, I feel Jack Smith was meticulous in lining up his board pieces for what would be a masterful chess game, and that took some time. Plus, didn't Garland have to clean out the Justice Department when he took it over from the corruption of Barr? Though I am disappointed in the slowness of bringing 45 to justice, I feel it is unfair to blame Garland for inaction.
