Great topic Terry. I know that you have lived and did what you advocate. Had success at Racing 🏁. Nothing like a stick car. Always fun, always real. Thanks for sharing. 👍 Have a good evening.
You beat me to it Terry..... lolololol I used to wear off the "Chuck Taylor Star" on my Converse tennis shoes from that brake pedal slipping back up & bruising my ankle. I used to race a Mazda Rotary that had a Super Sloppy wore out rear end that was on the way out. I ran it until it died. But because I would do EXACTLY what you are saying here, and pre-loading it with the clutch & healing the brake, that rear end that should've exploded on the 1st hit, lasted 3 years. Not only that, but the "you can't out shift and automatic" part in. I did it all the time, as I'm positive you did as well. I can't out shift "all" the automatics out there, but the ones that are stock & in the hands of people that don't know any better..... that's fair game, and the game is good.... lolololol.
Hello barerose I think us older guys have some of the same tricks when it comes to shifting a car we grew up with different transmission such as a top loader which was a hard one to shift , thanks for watching appreciate you 👍
I have always done heel on brake and toe the gas until it spinning then swap my left foot to the brake. It has always worked well for power brake burn outs in a manual.
Yah Terry I’d like you to do a video of these guys bashing the Fords, it would be very entertaining. I have 6 mustangs , 4 fox body’s, 66 mustang and 2013 Boss 302 Mike
Hey Mike, I've done a few videos about this and threw them all away because I spoke the truth and the truth hurts 😆 🤣 but maybe I could discuss this on a low key level and only step on a few toes 😆 keep watching ill try to cover this for you , thanks for watching appreciate the comment
Hello Clayton it's hard for me to answer that due to gear selection and what rpm band the engine has and how heavy the vehicle is determines what rpm we shift the car at , adam maybe could give you a better idea if you want to look him up on RUclips or Facebook thanks for watching
I like having a line lock ... waaaay easier on parts and rear brake pads and shoes...also nice to keep it from rolling when staging.. but yeahbif no line lock , preload the clutch with your foot on both pedals at the same time .. I also think shifting a trans with external linkage is much different than and internal rail like a t5 .. cable , hydraulic and z bar with an actual linkage is different also .. definitely have to find what is comfortable for each person .. shifters also.. I can't shift a short type shifter for shit , I have to sit to far back in a fox body to reach a short shifter
Even when I drive a c4 I always pretend there's a clutch 😂😂 it's very impressive how fast I can speed shift an automatic 😂😂😅 thanks for watching my friend
Question when using nitrous and a manual when shifting do you leave foot all the way on the gas or let off just enough to turn off mirco switch asking because I watch some at the track and they have a nasty backfire a every gear change thank you
My son Adam uses the nitrous he let's off slightly between gears if you look up the car on RUclips the green gangster you can hear him shift , thanks for watching

Hi Terry, where should your shift points be? Just after peak horsepower? Auto and manual the same shift points?
