Grovyle grew up in an apocalyptic world that turned most other pokemon insane. He could have snapped or lost all hope. Not only was he prepared to die but he was prepared to fight the god of time if it meant the future left behind was a good one. The most heroic character in all of pokemon in my opinion
Funny thing is, this song conveys two entirely different emotions based on the two scenes it’s played in. First, it’s a sense of freedom and wonder… …and second, absolute sadness.
I can’t believe how excited I was playing and getting through with this first track playing in the background, then the second time it played I cried so hard.
Does anyone here listen to the ost of this game and just think about how life is going so fast? I remember playing this game as a kid and now i''m an adult still listening to this beautiful soundtrack. When i listen to this game's soundtrack i can't stop crying.. I miss being a kid.
The moment when *Grovyle* we released very touching lyrics, and bid us farewell and asks us to complete the mission. I had tears in my eyes it was a moving and sad moment.
Plottwist if the partner is a Treeko: Treeko is Grovyle in the PAST! How this can be? Well, since time stopped flewing, maybe the Pokémon stopped getting older. I know, its just random shit, but when I came up with that as a kid, I actually tought that made since.
say what you will about Grovyle's sacrifice in the Hidden Land, but when Grovyle, Celebi, Dusknoir and Primal Dialga himself start to disappear is just the worst tear jerker. gets every. single. time.
This song is simply amazing. In less than 2 minutes it’s able to tell us so much, and invoke several emotions without changing into a different tone. Going from a song that leads you to your final quest, to one for your final goodbye to a dear friend and ally. All of this coming out of your DS.
During my second playthrough, I cried just as hard when I met Grovyle as when I watched him sacrifice himself during my first time playing. It really felt like I was being reunited with an old friend... Which I technically was, even though it's your character's "first time" meeting him? Time travel is confusing. I like to think that it's all just one cycle, and that every time I play this game I bring back all of these characters who are so dear to me to the beginning of the cycle again to live it out with me again. Never mind, though, I'm rambling. This game just breaks me.
• Lapras! wh-what is that?! • The edge of the gap in time. That is the portal through which we will go to the Hidden land • OK! > Here we go! (Lapras flies) • Whoah! Lapras! Lapras is flying! • No! That's not it! This...> This isn't flying! We're crossing the sea of time!
I absolutely love how this managed to work well in both the triumphant context it was used in when you reach the Hidden Land and the sadder context during Grovyle's sacrifice absolutely flawlessly
The fact the song is able to simultaneously be a sort of hero’s triumph, while also reminding us of the sacrifices made on this journey, without ever using a second version to separate the two emotions, is simply beautiful.
It was on February 20, 2021, that this video, being exactly 6 years old by mere coincidence, received its first 2 dislikes. Before that, it had achieved about 99,200 views and 1,795 likes-one of the most prestigious RUclips achievements of all time. To have a video standing six years old and amassing 100,000 views and 1,800 likes without any dislikes will be a record we can never witness again. My heart is genuinely broken by how easy it is for someone to just go on the video, leave a dislike for simply no reason, and then leave without a trace or reflection of what they just did. I've been visiting this video over the years to appreciate not just the music but the perfect ratio it has sustained for so long, but now I cannot anymore. By divine chance, the song being called "Through the Sea of Time" has aged so gracefully, proving that Sky is or is close to the best game ever created. Because out of nowhere the video went from 0 to 2 dislikes, I assume that this was done by one person on their main and alternative accounts. If that particular one is reading this, know that you've left an "opinion" that absolutely no one else agrees with: disliking the soundtrack. If you were in an anonymous room with 100,000 other people and you're the first one to step out and dislike the song, it's unnecessary and despicable. Also, for anyone that leaves comments, I suggest that you don't talk about the video's rating as it creates attention for anyone on the Internet to just ruin it. 7 days before this comment, I took a screenshot of the video on my phone when it had 98K views and 1.7K likes without any dislikes. Bro my favorite part of this game is the extra epilogue when you see Grovyle, Dusknoir and Celebi fighting for their lives just to give the duo enough time to subdue Dialga
Grovyle will forever be one of my favorite characters from any video game. IIRC Celebi mentioned he'd gone back in time to try and steal the gears multiple times. He just kept trying, even when everything seemed totally hopeless, even when everyone in the past he was trying to save viewed him as a criminal and a horrible person, even after losing his partner, even knowing he and everyone he knew would never live to see that happy future he wanted. He kept trying over and over again because he knew someone had to.
No other song will ever truly encapsulate the phrase "this is it" for me. As I prepare to say goodbye to my partner for the past five years in real life, I find myself coming back to this song, giving me the resolve to do what I know is right, no matter the cost.
