How to Set Up Hot Keys on ThinkorSwim

Traders interested in placing trades as fast as possible are often drawn to Hot Keys. These Hot Keys will allow you to set a key or combination of keys to allow you quickly place trades or complete various other functions within ThinkorSwim.
Since hot keys can be a bit confusing, today we’ll be going to through the process of setting up new hot keys, some examples of the most popular ones you’ll be using, and cover some of the unfortunate limitations in their use.

one thing you can do after setting up a hotkey like Ctrl+B to buy is plug a USB keypad (aka macro keypad) into your computer and map a single button on the keypad to Ctrl+B. that way you can press one button to buy

Wait, are you using hot keys in the TD paper trading simulator? How did you get that to work? For some reason my paper trading account doesnt allow me to use hot heys. Is it possible to fix that?

just set up the hot keys on tos it looks like they work on the chart page too with the at window closed? maybe because it saturday? i will try monday

do hotkeys work in OnDemand? last time i tried this was 2 years ago. i could not get hotkeys to work and contacted customer service who said hotkeys are disabled in OnDemand but not sure if that is still true? thank you
