Cannabis and hemp farming in South Africa: the good, the bad and the ugly

South Africa is well positioned to become a leader in cannabis and hemp production. SAHPA has already issued 55 cannabis cultivation permits. Yet, limited access to the legal medical market for patients, equity concerns with regard to traditional farms, and the scope of licenses seem to be holding the industry back.
