I wonder how much our own head defeats us when playing against better players. I feel like Boit is a much more agressive player and I've rarely see him go for Vill Centers, here he went for two, played very defensive and it didn't work. I wonder if an all-in slinger classical would play more to his and his civ's strengths and give a better shot against beating a better macro player (you have to surprise them, it's hard to keep up on macro with mista). Just imo 😅
Same here. As soon I realized he was not gonna pressure a Loki (no matter the player) I knew he was gonna lose the exact same way he ended losing after all. BUT, at the end of the day, Loki is far btter god atm, Mista is the best right know, and I think he spied a Civilian from the food wich switched to gold and was walking around spots, it gave all the info, gona see if i can get the replay or the mistas pov. But yeah, chaces for win were so low because the matchup, and went worse not pressuring.
@@crisshardy that's the worst part, I don't think the matchup is that bad. In theory a Set barracks play can counter whatever Norse has, but he has to pressure early with animals + barrack spam. Giving away map control to Loki when he also is spying on you is just giving it on a platter
I like this opener. I've had some great success verse some other players with this opening which is why I used it here. I needed to be switched on and know he was going for a TC himself and just SS onto it. I also could have been very aggressive at a point before he hit bragi but I missed it.
Hi, imo you could have challenged his flaming weapons with your TC (not sure it's building %, guessing 80) + splitting his army with using your shifting sand offensively. Back in the day eggies build a wall trap for Norse here ;)
Am i missing something? Loki's eyes in the forest is only for units, it doesn't work on buildings. Anyone can build things for map vision, though it is easier in the early game for Norse. He made good use of it for sure. Kinda think he spooked you into letting him have an early 2nd TC. Don't think you would've backed down if he was Thor/Odin

In Retold: Eyes in the Forest can be researched at the Temple and takes 40 seconds to research. It no longer increases infantry unit, Hersir, and Hero of Ragnarok Line of Sight, but allows nearby animals and natural objects within the player's Line of Sight (except walls) to reveal a 30-tile radius around themselves for 6 seconds.
you played to scared because you saw its mista, by going doble village in your town this was meant to end like this, should just do the normal 1 expa you even had a nice gold behind the settlement it's known that loki have the best map visibility you need to secure spots u can't just put 3 centers in one place and prey he doesn't catch your villagers outside
Didn't know the gold mine was there. I would have grabbed it if I knew. The main reason for the 3 VC was cause I didn't like what I saw on the map. That's on me for my bad scouting. That being said, I don't think 3VC is a bad opener at all. I've had some great wins with it lately. Just need to play it better to beat Themis!
The mista became some kind of physicological pressure.. boilt doesnt let his vills be iddle for more than a couple seconds, but with the mista the pressure is big even though he still didnt attack yet, it could happen at anytime, and considering that you cant focus properly... Themista is too op. Lol
Obelisk you just tap and it falls over, plus priests are incredibly slow and takes quite a while to build. I agree they are good but not anywhere near as good as eyes in the forest 😂
naaaah bruh, respectfully, not even close. TheMista is simply unplayable. He's the Aizen of AoM: doesn't matter what you do, he will always know what you're doing and he will always outsmart you.
Then why greeks have the better win rates at all the elo ranks? Greeks also are the most picked gods. The stats on the Ladder for Poseidon are increible, the most picked god is also the most winning god. Norse are powerful because the skill of the players, at the moment they nerf Norse, wich gonna happen for sure because the devs have shown they care too much about the most played gods, you gonna see everyone playing greeks and counter greeks, thats gonna be the meta, and trust me, you gonna regret your complains vs the Norse, when you gonna play games wich will be defined at 8 minutes mark, because thats how gonna be.
@@crisshardy i couldnt say it better. People cry about nerfing civs all the time. They nerf thor and people move on to hades or whatever, then he is the most picked, people cry all over again and he gets nerfed and people move to gaia and so on. The game is finally balanced, every major god is great, just specialize in one and you are good to go, unless the player is skilled enough to be amazing with all gods like the mista for example, he is great with them all but his main is zeus.

maybe if he was Ra and build farms:p he starved himself by wasting resources on VC and failing to secure gold

Yeah this guy is incredible..
He just put some houses down with the Loki tech and spammed units. Not saying he's not incredible, but this is nothing compared to what he can do

It does work on all buildings, and it's a huuuuge amount of line of sight!
