I'm ashamed asking this, but till today I don't know how to play with Sal. Would you mind if you could create a video like this, showing the tips for our beloved little raid boss?
General rule of thumb: anything that will help you pump out more bullets is good. Being able to gunzerk in FFYL is a must past normal so you don't end up wasting your action skill if you go down in the middle of a fight. Pick complimentary weapons with roughly the same accuracy unless you are abusing red text items. More firepower is good, but a lot of it can be negated if your two weapons have wildly different spreads that don't overlap. You usually only need one slag weapon in the pair, and if you don't want the grog nozzle the rubi at 12% health return applies to your other gun and grenades, too (and good before lvl 30 so you don't even have to go in to Assault on Dragon Keep to get there). While it's not usually the preferred strategy, if you spec in to the brawn skill tree (especially if the community patch is being used) and put adaptive shields and a health relic on Sal, you become unkillable until UVHM.
And here I am still on my Xbox 360 stuck at level 61 cap enjoying the game everyday, still. Stay safe vault hunters. Thanks Joltz for learning me a thing or two about my favorite character from this game!
As an axton main i can give a tip, if you don't have maglock and you have longbow you can throw the turret very high so that it will take a very long time to deploy. You can use this to get the second wind trick very consistently by throwing it out early and taking the down before it reaches the ground, it will still count.
I already love playing as Axton just cuz the intricacies of turret placements along with his snappiness, but that clip of just casually waltzing through the Beatdown was just hilarious
@@trythis2006 while true, the _build_ is broken, not the character. Krieg can do all kinds of nonsense with basically random gear, Salvador is Salvador, but Axton needs a few specific items with a specific build to be insane.
I think the main thing with Axton is people assume that he's terrible because his raid boss ttk is lower than most of the other vault hunters... and that's kind of true. Outside of the ones where you can tediore chuck, (which krieg even does better than Axton, it's just much harder to set up with Krieg) Axton really struggles to kill other raid bosses, and is only really comparable to Maya in that aspect, which people will argue Maya is still better because she can play the support/nurse role and is really good at mobbing. (which to many's surprise, Axton is arguably better than Maya at) With all that in mind, I can agree with the people that argue that Axton, all around, is arguably the worst Vault Hunter. That doesn't mean Axton doesn't excel at anything or do some things better than other Vault Hunters, and it doesn't mean Axton is bad, by any means... it just means that Axton is just barely the least broken character in a game where every character is broken.
I knew that, but it made my Roland playthrough of BL1 miserable because I’m too hard wired to throw my turret before I died instead of using the turret as an actual combatant.
For anyone that doesn't know, if you are playing in a co-op game as the off host (aka someone else is hosting the game) you can get infinite speed with expertise. Just aim down sight and use your drop key to drop the gun while ADS and you will permanently get the speed increase of ADS. To my knowledge there's no cap on it and you can use it to zoom across any map.
For anyone trying this, you need to aim down your sights at a weapon that's already on the ground, then hold your interact key to pick the weapon up directly into your hand. Having a drop weapon key on PC will greatly speed up this process as this stacks near infinitely.
A good trick for Axton is if you have a Fastball and a Grog Nozzle (or any slag moxxi gun), spec into Do or Die. When down, hold out the Grog, slag an enemy (on higher difficulties) and when you kill an enemy with the Fastball, you'll get out of Fight for your Life with full hp.
funny story about the turret aggro- you can use your turrets to aggro Pyro pete and Maya can actually heal the turrets. So as long as your turret is tossed right in front of pete and the siren is healing the turret Pete doesnt even focus on the vault hunters (to the point where he even stops his DoT attacks because he is constantly meleeing the turret) and you can really cheese the fight from there
Besides Anarchy stacking for Shamfleeting mobs and speed of movement for farming, I struggle with her on OP10. I've Shamfleeted with 600 stacks and still couldn't kill OP10 Terramorphus from ten feet away. She couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo at 600 stacks - not even with close enough. There must be some tricks to utilize for her at OP10 that I'm not aware of.
The best Tip I have for her is try using guns that doesn't have a normal bullet pattern, or that naturally bounces so it doesn't get reduction from close enough skill, your best choices are: Ricochet Fibber, Twister(this is a pain to get but the best shotgun for her), Blockhead(amazing but only fire), Norfleet(it's more for mobbing than bossing although is overkill, or for second winds). Other popular options are: Topnea(easier to get than the Norfleet and more ammo efecient),Hive(it homes), Slagga, Pimpernel(point blank), Interfacer, Conference Call(best indoors), and then some guns that goes under the radar: Octo(although after 150~Anarchy it gets kinda meh), Omen, Dahlminator(uses a lot of ammo and only corrosive), Rail, Leadstorm, you can even use Madhouse indoors with her, but still not as good as the other options...
@@Cuestrupaster I find Krieg more engaging late game than Axton, Tediore chucks are nutty but not engaging. Leveling 1-80 Krieg is wildly easier even the early OP levels Axton struggles.
Flame of the Fire Hawk, Fastball, All Moxxi's weapons, Rough Rider(actually more than the Flame unless mobbing). Blood Twitch and Bath always, Fuel the Blood buffs Buzz Axe Bombardier, when doing Silence the Voices, swing camly and try to do 3 swings and than change to throw, you can reset your cooldown with teslas(under level preferably so they don't down you), since you need Flame to fully recharge and Krieg makes the delay longer, a good way to recharge Flame is swap to a shield with faster delay and tankier, than you go back to Flame and it will be full, good option is Blockade. There's nothing much more I can remember, it's pretty much "play as best as you can" try taking advantage of his kill skills, by having a ton of swap speed, reload speed, and gun damage as long you do a splash kill...
Yes, everyone please. I've enjoyed your ultimate series for those stats as well and having them compiled will be really helpful once I can get back to playing
Axton is may favorite BL2 VH. I just like his combat. He feels balanced and fair to me. Not too strong, not too weak. If you know how to take advantage, and have specific gear, Axton has some of the fasted raid boss kills ever. People say he sucks......you just have to learn how to be Axton.
i dont play borderlands 2 anymore as much as i used to but i always love watching your videos. and i love learning new things ive never known from my time playing the game😆
1:23 you're picking up the *first** turret The Laser Sight doesn't give the turret(or you) any accuracy, pretty much broken skill, only cosmetic, you can still use it for the Tip... 5:23 Just for clarification, you get the moviment speed bonus regardless the gun, it's just that those guns doesn't slow you down while ads, so it results in you having 70%(with class mod) more movment speed than the normal walking speed, I belive it's 20% faster than running... you can also combine this with the first tip... I wouldn't say Axton is the "worst" character in Borderlands 2, but definitely the weakest, but that doesn't mean he's a bad character, or that he can't kill bosses, it just means that from all 6 characters he's the one who deals less damage, but still with the right gear Axton can do lots of damage... I like to say that Axton is a high reward for skill, because he's so easy to play there's a lot of tricks, as shown in this video, that makes a skilled player actually do a lot better with him than someone who doesn't go for it... specially considering Expertise and Ready skills, you ALWAYS spec into them, Foberance is also a good one that took me a while to get how powerful it's, Axton is in my opinion the esiest chracter to "survive" because how fast you can react with him. ~Please don't take this as corrections, it's more of a clarification so people doesn't misinterpret things...

the laser sight skill, at least i remember demonite saying so, does what it's supposed to but it may slow the turret's tracking down. the turret is plenty accurate on its own though so the 1 point strat is really all its good for.

Any sort of T&T videos you would do for that would be a massive help! Thanks & I appreciate all the hard work you've been doing for this franchise. Any chance you'd do a similar thing for TPS?
I'm loving my Krieg. And his grenades are so much fun. Run into melee throw grenades everywhere. Loot more grenades use your action skill if you are running low on health, repeat. But he's a bit dependant on good grenade drops to pull off the trick as if you don't kill a foe per grenade you run out of steam and have to kill your way slowly through the foes till you can afford to swap back to a Tourge gun to swipe some quick kills with explosives for more grenades drops. But 4 skill points for infinity grenade drops is hilarious fun. He really needs a lot of health Regen to sustain his playstyle though. So I usually run a lot of transfusion which deals damage so slowly. I should probably try find a better leveled fastball and practice some more.
I'm an Axton main and only knew 4 of these. Kreig or Maya are my next choices. Just started playing with Sal, not too sure I like him but need a vid on him. Gaige and Zero I definitely need one as those are outside my playstyles

glad to see you're making vids again. hope you're doing ok.
BL2 is over 10 years old now... it's so wild to think about
I'm loving my Krieg.
Great video. Saving it to my favourites!
If it wasn’t for Joltz, I would have never learned the skip dude.
I never thought i would here joltz say that he hasn't mastered something on bl2
I'm an Axton main and only knew 4 of these. Kreig or Maya are my next choices. Just started playing with Sal, not too sure I like him but need a vid on him. Gaige and Zero I definitely need one as those are outside my playstyles
yo thanks for the tips on axton really helped me
I'm always gonna have my eyes out for the Krieg one, and I hope there's stuff for raid bosses cause god I suck at raiding with him
yeah, i wanna see sal
Would love to see the ultimate build video for op 10 axton :)
