The 'Proud of Your Boy' Demo by Alan Menken is legitimately my favorite song of all time, so I was disappointed when I saw this was released on April 1st, assuming it was a prank.
Then I heard the incredible vocals and realized it was legitimate, and now I'm SO HAPPY.
Thank you for your work, Mr. Pitera! Love it so much!

It was a pacing issue. Its perfectly fine on Broadway where its all about stopping for a song every few minutes and the shows run over two hours, but in a 90 minute movie it just wrecks the pacing.
Same reason they cut "If I Never Knew You" from Pocahontas, and that was probably the strongest song in the film. They even had it fully pencil animated before it was cut!
I love this song! As the mother of 3 grown boys it ALWAYS makes me cry. Thank you Nick for bring the beauty of music and your voice to the world!

This is the song I thought of when I learned the full backstory of Deuce Spade, first year and former delinquent in Heartslabyul, Night Raven College, TWISTED WONDERLAND. He wants to become a man that his mom can be proud of, that HE can be proud of. Just the right amount of boyish charm and shyness in the interpretation, Nick; you would make the Night Raven kids stand in awe of your talent.

He is an animator for Pixar I believe and has sung in a couple movies 🙂
He does, you can see him in the credits of many Pixar movies. He also has had Disney sponsor for some of his videos. (Or at least it seemed that way)

I normally love your covers but this one I didn't enjoy as much. You were jumping back and forward from soft whisper and clean positioning and it was a little off. I like both of those voices you make, I think it would've been better to separate them a little depending on the phrase so the strong lines sounded strong and the sad/emotional sounded soft. This only stood out in 0:48 and 1:58. The rest was beautiful :)

Im a huge fan! I'll be honest though, theres something about the recent uploads.. an excess of some sort of auto tune or something? It hides your voice and sounds heavy. Your older videos are easier to listen to because they dont have it.
I really don't like his sound here. His chest voice sounds really whiny and squeezed, every note sounds really tense and throaty. Really not an appropriate style at all for this Broadway song.
And every phrase he ends with a really unpleasant, whiny vocal fry
