Boy, I'm sure glad I live in the Florida Panhandle, perfect climate for outdoor bog garden. The Carnivorous plants can go through dormancy without all the extra work.
@@TheBonsaiJungle Fact is, you're not sure of anything. Terrarium are not good for carnivorous plants, they get moldy in the and die. Outdoors is best, plenty of fresh air, so the stay healthier and you don't have to water them down with chemicals to keep the mold off. Carnivorous plants lose all their red colors indoors and don't look as good. I'd never put a healthy plant in a terrarium and kill it slowly.
Parrot Bill let me get this straight...so you want me to put all these heliamphora outside? Are you nuts? Do you grow any heliamphora??? You are the one talking like someone who doesn’t know how to grow plants. Heliamphora NEED high humidity and cooler temperatures. If you try growing them outdoors in Florida or in the snow up north they are all going to die. This set up in my video is an essential REQUIREMENT not just something I came up with on a whim. I agree terrariums for Venus flytraps and sarracenia are a stupid idea but we are talking about heliamphora here. Way different requirements.
@@heroinrock you have no idea what you're talking about dummy! We have 6 species of Sarracinia Pitcher Plants, and 5 species of Sundews, all native to Florida, from the Okeechobee north through the Panhandle. So when I say that Florida is a great climate for carnivorous plants, I know what I am talking about! You should at least Google what you're about to say before you make yourself look as stupid as a slug.
M C you can just use some Yescom 225 red and blue or Yescom 225 white panels. That is the easiest option in my opinion, cheap yet good light output. With hardware store LED strip lights I was aiming for at least 3000 lumens, but that isn’t the best measure of light for plants, just a good number if you are comparing lumens of one light to another. A better number is PAR, which some growlights have listed.
If you can pull off 55*F night and even mid-70’s day you’re golden. I dont even get mine that cold anymore though, peltier cooler broke 2 years ago and I’m just waiting to buy a mini fridge.
unrealhit88 it just plugs into a timer and runs every half hour when the fogger is on. I still have not attached the cooling fan to this terrarium yet so there isn’t much I can make an update video on.
hell yeah this is what ive been wanting to see! looks awesome,, please make more heliamphora videos/updates.

Parrot Bill this video has nothing to do with dormancy. Not sure why you commented this on a heliamphora video.

@@TheBonsaiJungle thank you very much !
What sundews can grow with sun pitchers/heliamphora?
@@rageoftheredphoenix Hamiltonii, adelae, prolifera, and graomogolensis just to name a few commonly available ones. Capensis would do fine as well.
Good seeing ya!
What are those white things your plants are siting on?
Light diffuser rack. It’s a component you put under fluorescent light fixtures. Larger hardware stores should have it.
What are your temperature levels please? day and night
Sorry, I don’t know.
