Bro i came back to tell you I found out beehiiv took away clicks and now sponsors want $3 per 1000 opens. I don't have a big subscriber base yet. Even with 100k subscribes and a 50% open rate, that's $150. So what's the next plan of action from here? What's trending that's monetizable for newsletters?
making money with ads was always a poor strategy. a year ago i was telling people on twitter the ad market for newsletters is trending to 0 and got roasted for it. it's still true. making money with a newsletter is about selling real stuff. treat it like a social media platform. there's creators, service businesses and product businesses etc. on social media. you don't want to sell ads, you want to sell real stuff. tap into a lucrative market that you have expertise in and then sell to that audience. newsletter ads have been a bad business for the last 10 years. don't listen to people on twitter. sell real stuff.
