So glad to see this played solo. I have long wanted this game, but it's either over-priced or hard to find. In the mean time, I'll gratefully watch you solo so when I do get it, I'm ready! Thank you.
Hey, I appreciate that! I'm sorry this game is hard to get. It deserves more attention. I cannot believe how many great games are out of print. I'd trade a year of new games for these classics to be widely available again. Hope you can get your hands on a copy. Thanks so much for watching!
@@TotallyTabled Thanks. Yes, there are some really quality games out there that you just can't get anymore. I'm currently watching your solo of Lands of Galzyr right now. Another, "I can't afford it," game, but in the wish list! Cheers!
@@hiho8084 Yeah, I want people who are new to the hobby to be able to experience the great older games. But I guess there are so many great games to choose from, I shouldn't be too upset about a few being out of print. Still bugs me. Hope you enjoy the Lands of Galzyr playthrough!
@@TotallyTabled I love the idea of Galzyr, but still not sure it's for me. It is beautiful and well thought out. I invested in another open ended game, Mythwind, and it should be here soon, [I've waited a lonnnnng time for this one to come - Kickstarter]. So hopefully I'll get a sense of what this type of game feels like. I believe Mythwinds does not have any app, so it's all "manual." Really glad for your channel. Great content; very thoughtfully made videos. Thanks for all your hard work!
@@hiho8084 I missed Mythwind but it sure looked interesting. Please let me know what you think once it arrives. I'd be very curious. I think you have the right instincts when it comes to Galzyr. It is not for everyone. When I'm in the mood for this sort of thing, it is an easy one to turn to and I really like it for that reason. Thank you for all your kind words and I'm very glad you enjoy the channel. Happy gaming!
I played this game 30+ times and still think it is amazing, yeah 18 is really hard to reach. The flow of this game Solo is so good and one of my favourite to play solo. many will say that beat your own score games are not fun but this is just a giant puzzle that gives you a challenge every time, its hard as nails. What i also think is that handling those vegetables, with trading, buying and selling the whole game makes this so much fun to play well played !!
Absolutely. I've been negligent up until now and I really want to get more of his games on the channel, especially A Feast For Odin, Glass Road, Hallertau and Atiwa. Thanks so much for checking out the video!
I think I got lucky and found a new copy of this sitting at the back of a shelf in my local game shop so quickly grabbed it and then you uploaded this tutorial on the same day. I've played 5 games already, really fun solo game.
Wow, amazing. Time to buy a lottery ticket with that kind of luck! I'm glad you enjoyed the game. It has been one of my favorites for a decade. Rosenberg proving he can do more than just worker placement. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for this, Shaggy! I've wanted this game for some time now. Has this been reprinted? I hope so, for you have ignited my desire for this classic Uwe!!
Ah, I'm not sure how difficult it is to get this one. I would hope this would stay in print like Agricola, but sadly it is not widely recognized as a classic. It is easily his most unique design, absent of worker placement and polyominos. And it plays as fast as Glass Road. It doesn't scale well, so it is mostly a 1-2 player game, but if you can find it, I would highly recommend. Thanks so much for watching, Donna!
It is going to be reprinted by Trick or Treat games eventually. They recently reprinted a few other out-of-print Uwe games and this seems to be next in line. Zatu Games currently has it on back order with it being expected to arrive at the end of December.
@@gabthang8 Wow, that is fantastic news! So happy to hear this. I wasn't aware of Trick or Treat games, but I'll have to check them out now. Thanks so much for bringing this to everyone's attention!
Another terrific playthrough! Knowing that I don't particularly enjoy or gravitate towards farming themed games my wife asked me why I was bothering to watch this playthrough anyway and I told her that you make my favourite solo playthrough videos and I just enjoy watching them regardless of if I'm looking to add the game to my collection or not. Keep up the outstanding work, Shaggy!
That is an incredible compliment, Laurence. Thank you. I'm happy to hear you feel that way. I tend to focus on explaining the rules as carefully as I can, which I know sacrifices entertainment value. I am glad you still find my videos enjoyable even if you aren't totally interested in playing the game. Thanks so much for your support. And thanks for ignoring your wife and watching. 😁
@@TotallyTabled Hahaha funny enough she started watching along with me and was getting into it herself. She started pointing out possible moves or agreeing with decisions that you made. So, she gets it now, too. XD
@@laurencesingh3948 I take it back, you should listen to her more often! 😀 That is really cool. Not sure I could get my wife to watch a board gaming video (except for my own which she claims to watch but I have my doubts). Ha, thanks again!
Excellent playthrough as always! It's the first time I really grasp the whole game's mechanics with a RUclips video (and not for the lack of trying). I is really impressive how they achieved such a balance between game difficulty, turn fluidity and freedom of action for the player. The paths to victory seem endless
Thanks! I'm happy the video worked for you and you found the game understandable. I agree with you -- it is an impressive design. Not many games just give you a list of actions and say, go. La Granja has a little bit of that, but the feeling is pretty unique. Thanks for watching!
This is my second favourite Uwe Rosenberg game of all time - my god, it's such fantastic game for couples. No other game allows for such big, bombastic, free-form turns like this one does.
This is my second favorite as well, with A Feast for Odin #1, but this one hits the table more because it is so easy to set up and start playing. My wife didn't like it the first time, but I haven't given up yet. But I like the solo just as much if not more than the 2 player. Both are excellent. Thanks for watching!
I really try to mix up my videos so I'm covering the new games I'm excited to play and the old games I adore. The old stuff doesn't get the views most of the time, but I think it is important and I just love playing them. If I cared about views I would only post Top 10 lists, so it is what it is. I'm glad you enjoyed this one and really appreciate the support, Peter!
Fun looking game with so many great decisions to make along the way. Here's hoping for a new print run some day. This video also reminds me that I really need those sweet, sweet Iron Clay chips 😂
Thanks for such a great playthrough. I love Loyang, it’s my second favourite Uwe game for solo after Nusfjord. It can be a little swingy depending on what cards appear in the market right at the start, but you always feel like you have at least a chance of hitting the magic score of 17 (which to now denotes a win), and it’s always really enjoyable.
I'm with you, Jay. I try for an 18, but I consider 17 a win. 18 is tough for me. I'm really glad you enjoyed the playthrough. Thanks for checking it out!
So, it appears that a reprint is coming or at least is planned from Trick or Treat games. Hopefully this will happen and happen soon. Thanks for watching!
Another great game on your channel, Shaggy! This summer I played it a couple of times solo and I really enjoyed it. I think 20 pts is only doable when you get fields and customers in perfect order and if you manage to max out the strongest helpers as well. I reached 20 pts just once, but easily possible that I made some mistakes to my favor at that game. Anyway - it‘s fun!
This one is like comfort gaming. So quick to set up -- when it is organized like I have it. It has a minimalistic design. And the free flowing turns feel so unique. I love it. Thanks so much for checking out the video!
Thanks, Steve! Yeah, I find it very challenging. I feel fortunate to pull out a 18. Still a lot for me to explore with this one, even after a decade. Thanks so much for checking out the video!
I've never been good at this game. I think I hit 19 once, but I'm usually just trying to hit 18 and struggling to do so. This playthrough was pretty typical for me. But I enjoy games more when I'm bad at them. The last thing I want is to get good and lose all the tension and struggle. :) Thanks for watching!
