TM Krishna: Vande Meenakshi Twam (Nottu Swara)

- A second encore from TM Krishna came in the form of the popular and charming nottuswara by Muthuswami Dikshitar called Vande Meenakshi Twam.
Krishna was accompanied by Akkarai Subhalakshmi on violin, Arunprakash Krishnan on mridangam and Chandrasekara Sharma on ghatam. Tanpura support was provided by Krishna's student Vignesh Krishnamurthy and Ritwik Pal.
The concert, the finalé to Experimenter Gallery's 10th Anniversary celebrations, finally came to a close on this joyous note.
The concert was scheduled to end at 9.30PM at Kalamandir, Kolkata. TMK said at 9.15 that he could sing only one more song, but went on to sing three more before the organizers came to the stage to deliver their vote of thanks. After multiple rounds of applause, half the audience got up and left. TMK, however, did not bulge. Neither did his co-performers. He sang song after song, keeping the enchanted audience trapped in his magic.
Those who stayed back know how lucky we were that night!

Giving me goose bumps, hair standing on end, the pause in his breath, the anticipation in mine, the unpredictability despite the familiarity, the perfect embellishment, the concurrence yet the harmony, the synchrony yet the standing out, what halts you is not the perfection- but the grandeur in simplicity, the finesse in the mastery, the softness in the regality, the tease, the submission, the playfulness yet the reverence... this is magic... not music!
Let us breath it, see it, caress it, romance it, want it ... let us live it!!

It touched a chord in me where there was nothing but just bliss……I have heard it about a couple of dozen times and cannot stop listening….TMK - in this song you merged yourself, the music and the listener into one (not to forget the accompanying artistes). JUST MERMERIZED………
