    There is definitely something magical about seeing an imaginary, yet completely believable world come to life through the medium of animation. Certain story concepts feel like they could only be told using the freedom allowed by animation.

    Listen. I love animation. I personally love animation much more than live action. But saying it's better than live action is a gross exaggeration. They are both great mediums each with their own pros and cons. Neither will be able to replace the other.

    Animation is far more maluable than live action. To play with the medium of animation is like a child playing with clay. He can warp the very fabric of the universe within his hands. To use live action is like a child trying to play with a stone. It has already been set in place with it's rules and boundaries. Unchangeable, hard, rigid and souless. So to is live action. Man is not meant to be able to warp reality no matter how many fancy gadgets he has. His efforts will always be in vain. Usually with less than stellar results. For he is not made to do such things but to be content with what he has been given control over.

    • @mittenvonscrufflears7233
      @mittenvonscrufflears7233 10 месяцев назад +1

      @miguelmunuera2601 Definitely, they need to take notes from Ufotable specifically. Idk if you know them, but they are the company that made Demon Slayer and the Fate series, seriously the best 2D(although they also incorporate 3D) animation I've ever seen. People credit the first Spiderman movie for the revolutionary combination of 2D and 3D animation, but Ufotable did it first. Even the stuff Ufotable made in 2011 looks way better than most anime today. On another note, there's an anime that really sticks out to me that wasn't made by Ufotable, and it's called Land of the Lustrous. They also use 2D and 3D and oh. My. God. It's so gorgeous, the art style is so unique, I could watch it a billion times for It's animation alone. The characters in it are made out of gems, and the way they animated their hair, eyes, and their insides when they shatter(dw they recover) is just stunning. Its so underrated, if you haven't watched it then I highly recommend it. Honestly I like the look of that anime much more than I do the recent trailer for Wish. Anyway, anime is just more creative than the western stuff recently too, so that's another reason I really enjoy it. I think it's because there's less competition(Well, also Covid and the strikes). I mean, Disney now owns Marvel AND Star Wars, there's pretty much nothing that can face them currently. When there's less competition, people take less risks, and therefore less creative. Anime is so creative because 99% of the time it's adapted from manga, and most manga is made by individuals or very small businesses, so there is a crap ton of competition. Also, I don't get why Disney has completely moved away from 2D animation. Like they think it's because 3D will sell better, but is that really true? Look at how much money the Demon Slayer movie made. Everyone I talk to wants 2D animation to come back, so how could 2D not sell well. Do they think it's outdated because 3D animation used more recent technology? Who cares? As of right now, you can do a lot more with 2D animation than you can with 3D, and 2D leaves more room for creativity. I really hope they do go back to 2D in the future, because if they think 3D is more profitable, they're wrong

Well, no matter how much I understand animation and the scientific principles behind how it's possible, I understand the principles of animation, I still have no idea how it's even possible! I mean of course I know how it's possible but like... DRAWINGS!?!?! LOOKING ALIVE!!?? or even puppets looking alive? I understand how it's possible, but nevertheless I am still in awe of its true magic. This is the one thing in the world that I would consider *real* magic. Not fake magic, REAL magic. First of all... Awesome video! Secondly I agree with everything you said in this video, and as a simple girl who pretty much grew up watching anything Animated, dragged her Mom to the movie theaters as a child, eventually got into Anime as a teenager and want to learn how to Animate my own OC cat characters as a young adult, I think I understand now as an adult why I've always loved warching Animation because of the magical, mystical and wonderful landscape of colors, shapes, stories, and characters that we can possibly relate with... (my favorite examples are Lilio and Jim Hawkins from Lilo and Stitch and Treasure Planet respectively) and I'll admit that I love movies like Harry Potter and Lord Of The Rings mainly because I love fantasy content too but the way Animation can take yiu to incredibly amazing new places that you can't see or do in real life or live action, and when it comes to Anime it's pretty much the same experience only with a LOT more heavier emotions throw into the mix... (my favorite Animes are Clannad, Pokemon and of course Studio Ghibli movies) and yes i know that we know all that we use Animation and Anime as way to escape from reality or use it as a coping mechanism to deal with death or loss and that's OK, we all have our own different and unique "characters" about ourselves too and that's what makes us all special and I think that's what makes bith these interesting genres of content complex, interesting and pleasant to watch as well. As for anything that Disney has done to almost ruin themselves by making live action remakes of their classic Disney movies?... I have one thing to say about that ... THEY NEED TO STOP IT! Because clearly it hasn't worked before and it's not going to keep working now! Because it's like you said... "There's many impossible things people can do in Animation than in Live Action" and honestly? I wholeheartedly agree, nothing can beat the classics and I'm honestly happy that Disney is FINALLY getting their traditional act back together and making something marvelous like the new movie "WISH" because I believe it shows us that they still have the magical touch by bringing us something wonderful by bringing in 2D and 3D Animation to create something truly spectacular and it's a shame that most Disney fans aren't really appreciating the fact that Disney is finally going back to their roots and bringing us a new, interesting, unique, complex, awesome and amazing while making us feel like we're on a real adventure again instead of trying to make another cash-grabbing, re-hashing, nostalgia induced movie and I'm happy we got the old Disney back, at least for a short time but I'm hoping truer fans like me will see the wonderful marvelous and gorgeous looking new Animation movie for the spectacular new movie it's tuly meant to be and that goes for the new Studio Ghibli movie too, it's clear they hadn't lost their magic and I hope Disney won't truly loose their magic thouch either.

When a character is sad, they look even more sorrowful than an actual human being, or when they're happy, they display intense exhilaration! It's easier for me to feel sympathy towards an animated character than a live action one personally. Sometimes characters displaying emotions feel more real than reality itself.

      @@miguelmunuera2601 no clue but that's what 3d is. More difficult but costs less. It's probably because you don't have to recreate assets in 3d like you do with handdrawn animation

    I do see your point, but you hardly talked about live action
    Live action can be impressive as well, especially when it's filmed on location/set or uses practical effects. From Star Wars to Alien to The Dark Crystal to Jurassic Park to Pirates of the Caribbean, not all movies are meant to animated

    This is 2d animation is so much better. Live action is dull and boring. If Disney wanted to bring in younger audience or old time fan, then they should bring back 2D animation just like they did with that short animated film for their 100th anniversary. Of cruise knowing Disney didn’t.
    Disney relies on too much A.I. and making live action film that won’t make money. Plus, poor casting choices. Their actor/actresses were very toxic and placing their self insert into these characters that doesn’t need to be. To me personally, Disney doesn’t care. Sure, they say they care about the fandom with their fake smile, they really don’t care at all. Disney lost the magic for - I don’t know how long. I believe they are too far gone at this point.
