Hi Penny and Del - great video! Very nice fab work on the headlight bracket. Functional, rigid, lighter (by a little anyways) and all your own. I think it's a fantastic job. And as I record and I edit my own occasional videos I'm always mindful of the hard work ad specialized equipment that goes into yours. Really well done! Take care, dear friends. Be well and ride safe.
Thank you so much for apprecitaing the effort and work that goes in to making productions, as you say, there's so much going on in the background... We appreciate all your kind support, and we hope you're having a great week there, take care and ride safe, D&Px
Nice to relax after a busy couple of weeks. Hope you’re both well.
All good buddy, keeping all the plates spinning as usual.. Hope you're all well too.
Del, if you know how to weld aluminum, and if you have equipment for welding aluminum, then obviously aluminum would weigh much less.
Also, if you had steel pipes integrated into your bracket it was stronger and weighed less too.
Aluminum 2024 or 6061 and there are other types, it is very suitable for your job.
You can even made it from wood. The main material that airplanes were made of until World War II was wood😂
Feel free to forward me a TIG welder any time you have a spare one!!
@@Moonfleet41
You don't have to weld. It is possible with rivets, or with screws and nuts. And I suggested working with pipes, pressing them at the ends, drilling holes at the ends, and that's how you can build trusses quite easily.
Just responding to you comment pal... "if you know how to weld aluminum, and if you have equipment for welding aluminum," !
Hi Del & Penny, hope you are both well. Excellent bit of fab work mate, looks like that will do the job nicely. Ride safe and take care, Cheers
Thanks mate👍, fit for purpose, doesn't need ot be any more than that. Hope you're looking forward to the weekend, chance to get out in the sunshine aye. !
Nice job guys, I think it suits the tough stance/look of the bike
Thank you mate.
Looking great ..really enjoying this project come along 😊
Thank you!
New title for Del...."The Steel Whisperer". 😁 Having your hands coax the steel to match the picture in your mind. Some serious skills there buddy. Seeing the original bracket vibrate took me back to working on the big trucks. Those big diesels at idle could shake anything to pieces. It took a lot of engineering to keep them in one piece. Many thanks, Del and Penny. Peace and good health. ❤👍👍
Sure thing Rick, I trained as a bus and truck fitter a lifetime ago, and as you know, if you want to know why everything on trucks is built so solid and heavy, just take a look in the direction of the 13 litre engine humping away in the middle lol Have a great week there, and thanks for your constant support, it's appreciated, D&Px
Adoro seus trabalhos são realmente espetaculares
Gracias!
Great work as always Del, is there going the a small fairing thingy at the front or are you able to raise the headlights slightly so the gap between them and the clocks isn’t so big? Just my two pennies worth 🙈😂
I'm leaving the gap for a small cowling to cover the back of the clocks!
nice jop only about some damage this point if found some body..
Solid job.
Cheers.
Looking good, Del! I got a little chuckle when you weighed the OEM mount, then showed your new mount being lighter. That should stop at least some of the nay-sayers who complain that the steel bracket will be too heavy... But my guess is, you will still get the odd troll who mentions the weight, thereby outing themselves as people who comment without watching... But hey, the ol' algorithm doesn't care if they have a clue or not... A view is a view, a comment is a comment, and a twit who complains without watching is still a twit. God loves stupid people too!
Wise words well said Tommy, i guess there will always be one ! Glad you're enjoying the content, and always good to hear from you buddy. ! take care.. D&Px
Lovely job done nice and neatly going to look great when painted Del
Thanks mate 👍, glad you enjoyed!
Very interesting piece of work! The mount is simple and, as you say, unobtrusive. Nice. The MG grinder is a work of art and genius, and your demonstration of its use is fascinating. I greatly appreciate that it's designed and manufactured in England, which beautifully compliments your work. Thank you.
Thanks mate, The grider is a game changer, it's an honour to have it ad a joy to use, makes dust out of metal in seconds, and far less expensive that constantly mincing discs. Thanks again for your kind support.
👌👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Looks fantastic!! I'm never good with angles, it's challenging and time-consuming. Even no CC for the deaf but the actions helps. Loved your press with screw adjustment.. I don't have that. Nice tricks of trade here!! Thanks Penny!! 😊
Thanks for your kind words as always, sadly the CC's not down to us, as you know, it's controlled by AI, but we're glad you still enjoyed!
@@Moonfleet41.. AI?? Hmm, I thought voice recognition program. Technology sure change.
Looks good Del, once it is painted you won't even know it's there.
Exactly that mate!
Well made, to the point, effective and good looking. As was the video. Ay looks grand mate 👌
Thanks so much mate, Glad you enjoyed it!
A beautiful bit of bracketry design and construction Del. Very neat and super sturdy - impressive indeed!
Many thanks mate, got it light and strong, and fit for purpose. Always appreciate your kind support.
Very well done, sir..Two thumbs up👍👍
Thank you kindly
'The Day the Lights Sat Still' - Y'know; there's room behind the V of that last bracket for an electric worm drive to lift 'Gort's visor/lamp guard up into that nice space just below the instrument deck.
('Dip beam' etc? - At the risk of your bike 'looking' a bit stoned, just drop the visor half-way! : )xx
Great idea! Perhaps some moveable eyebrows, like Johnny No 5 lol
...very well DONE, Del!
Thank you Cedric !
I am amazed with your fabrication skills to build the parts you need. Well done!
Thank you very much!
mmmm Looking gurd!!!
Ok, do you realise the amount of things you have taught people, like me... and others.
The 4 small holes for welding... i've done that of a few small bits, not to do with bikes but other stuff.
Plastic welding.
G clamp/ F claping stuff to the bench. Small thing but such a massive help.
Making cardboard mock ups... awesome!!! ding ding ding!!!
sod the trolls....
That process with the holes is called "Plug Welding", and it's a very common fabrication practice.. im glad you enjoyed it, and if i can pass a few things along, then thats all good aye.. !
@@Moonfleet41 honestly, I dont think you know how much your videos help people.
"plug welding" d'ohhh my words arnt working properly the last few days lol
i'm over tired.
Anyway.... what if any Events are you doing this year, I'm going to try and do a few rallies, shows and bike stuff lol
Got something for you hehehe
great work del and spot on penny
Thank you Allan!
Pleasure to watch as always. Cheers.
Thank you Shaun, much appreciated mate !
It going to look good pal.
Thank you!
Nice work Del
Thanks 👍

I have a 100 amp mig will that weld 6mm metal ie scaffold tube
Be careful welding scafold tube, grind all the galvanizing off properly first aye mate !!!
That bracket looks like the cockpit frame from an F-35 fighter jet - probably just as strong too. Great job!!
Thanks mate, great analogy.!
Excellent job on those braces Del, they look like a million dollars!
Thank you mate 👍
Good idea to brace the bracket. You don't want a flickering light, it'll confuse the deer as well ;-) Happy days, Günter/Nürnberg
Coming along Del. ✌️❤️👍
Another great video brother ! Very smart move bracing it that way !!!! You are killing it brother ! Keep up the great work cheers from New York 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hey Renzo, always good to hear from you!
nice job you made of that
Nice one Del 👍
Another job jobbed👍
Keep up the great work Del 'n' Pen 👍
Thanks mate 👍, glad you approve!
Love it. Realty enjoying this series ❤
Thanks mate, appreciate your support, hope you're well!
Absolute pleasure to behold
Thank you
Well that ain't movin!
Not any time soon mate!
Everyone has there idea, so....I would have gone with out the dash cuts outs (crap collectors), new dash pannel mount same as dash not edge extended. Lights mounted from the forks, but hay your work and design works great would not have thought of that approach. 👍👍👍
Good job Del 👍
Thanks mate 👍, appreciate you watching!
Lots of space for some lightening holes
Looks like you found a place to potentially hide the wires while you were at it :)
Great work Del.. like the Park tool scale I have one to for my road bikes 😊 Pete 🚴🏻👍
Thanks Pete, glad you enjoyed it, it's great to get creative!
Once its painted its going to look trick, good job😍👍
Thank you!
solid construction without going o.t.t. Del. Good job, not surprised you're pleased with it. I would be👍
Thanks mate👍
I really like the bracket, functional, weighs less, and kinda has an industrial/stealthy look to it like the rest of the bike. Smart thinking to weight the old bracket and the new, that way people can't complain about using steel :)
Sure thing buddy, steel is so much stronger than aluminium, which is why it can be smaller and less obtrusive... in the early days, Hayabusas had aluminium tail sub-frames that would often crack under weight so they were upgraded to steel, ali isn't always the answer to everything!
I'll have to say, your drafting skills are on par with your metal working skills. I like the one piece upper setup, I'm sure it made it a lot easier than two separate pieces and getting them to align up and welded.
Thank you for your kind words, just a keen amature and enjoying the learning process.. Glad you're enjoying the content !
Good job again 👍
Nice one Del ! Always love the attention to detail mate 👍
Thanks buddy 👍
Top work Del. 👏
Thanks 👍
Beautiful fabrication work. Love these videos. Fantastic.
Thank you very much Scott, i really appreciate the kind feedback.
Excellent outcome, I'd say! You know I love some good DIY!
Thank you mate, glad you enjoyed this project, appreciate you watching, have a great week!
Noice!
Excellent job
