The manga version of this arc depicted the kindness and perfection of Asuka. Hell, she trusted Haruto even after hearing that he went to a love hotel with another girl. She was the perfect girl. The anime left out those details and concentrated on making Yuzuki look like the good girl.
I watched this over a decade ago when I was a kid and completely forgot about it. I recently started reading the manga and when I reached this arc I was like “Why do I feel like I’ve seen this before?” Then I saw there was anime and then I remembered lol

Haruto’s journey of finding true love was very endearing. You don’t see too many series that show the after story of characters in a relationship

After i saw the anime serie i watched all episodes in 1 night and other day started its manga. Its really awesome it is just so epic that drama and all the other things makes this serie a great "A Slife of Lİfe" serie.
I have read many reviews on the the manga from MAL and I must say that this series receives a lot of uncalled for hatred. I have read the manga almost to end and I actually like it quite a bit.
I really don't know why some people say this anime isn't that good, i think it was as good as the opening was, and....the opening is really good if you ask me. I watched a few slice of life/Romance anime and i can tell that this one was a really good one!

I'm pretty sure you're basing your emotions only on the anime adaption, which I can't argue on. However, if you tried to read the manga without a bias, you would see that each character has its own faults and no one did anything particularly scumbag-like except for Rin (although her motives were pure, but her actions and respect for others not so much). Also, if you really read the manga as is, you would know that the person who was hurt the most was Yuzuki. No one would travel to a completely different part of the world (countryside), finally get together with a person she has loved and admired for so long, and throw it all away for whatever reasons you might think were bad. She had a lot on her plate, and she was used to Haruto always finishing it for her, but she obviously wanted to stop hurting Haruto, Kanzaki, and everyone else. However, doing so, it hurt her the most. Also, whatever Haruto said to Asuka, he meant it. He really did love her at the time since as everyone says, she's the perfect girlfriend, but it's obvious Haruto wanted to be with Yuzuki not because she was perfect, but simply circumstances, timing, and everything that led up to his obssession over her. It's funny how people say Haruto has no spine when he left his hometown and made the resolve that he would chase after Eba no matter what, even if it meant losing his friends. Thats a big resolve, especially against your own childhood friends, but it just shows how much she loves Yuzuki, definitely not because she was the perfect girlfriend, but because it was simply just Yuzuki.
I think haruto and yuzuki are people who lack communication in making decisions. I finished reading this manga 3 times until finally writing this comment

Ya boi read "anime announced" when I got to chapter 217 in the manga and was like holy shit an anime but then saw it had only 12 chapters and by the looks of things it starts like 50 chapters in. I haven't seen the anime yet but I guess I will out of curiosity

The anime is not what I was expecting. The manga is much better since the anime has left out way to much, and placing a few flashbacks is not enough as an turnover. If you truly want to enjoy Kimi No Iru Machi, then I suggest go read the manga since it is way better and the first arc is not left out which is the main reason why I continued reading, unlike how the anime had skipped it and just placed a few flash backs.

Reasons why lot of people hate the anime - This main carather guy dumped a girl whose been giving him attention 24/7, just to get the girl who always ignored him.
I read this manga and i dropped it when he left asuka after that i went ahead and started reading other manga because his choice was the worst one he could have made. I loved it but i ended up hating it because of the choice he made.
But i think the anime made it sound like a romantic thing.... i don't know. When i was reading the manga, this part was quite sad and disturbing, but the anime tried to make it looks "cute" and that was absolutely terrible in my opinion;

Hahaha he is the reason why yuzuki and haruto broke up because kazama begged yuzuki to be her boyfriend, he used his illness to tell yuzuki that to be her girlfriend😡😡 poor haruto/yuzuki their relationship (for me i think yuzuki never serious of kazama she forced herself to be with him and yuzuki felt guilty of breaking up wwith haruto after she confessed haruto she tells him that she regretted it )they suffered so much especially yuzuki in her choices without needed the help of haruto😢😢

but good thing haruto is in love with asuka, yuzuki and Haruto didn't deserve their fourth time being in relationship because of what she did to haruto saying that we won't see each other again but guess what haruto worked in part time job and yuzuki always talk to him after the mixer party events and that was the first time they see each other for two years and she is the want at fault for stealing haruto from asuka good thing kiyomi called her shameless, because in her own selfishness that she doesnt want to see haruto again after she visited hiroshima telling him that she was in love with and she desperately throw the necessary that haruto gave her but for some reason haruto was madly in love with yuzuki and she dump asuka in a worst way I feel bad asuka for trusting haruto he ended their relation for 2 years and asuka didn't do anything to make haruto jealous but Haruto after he feel guilty about lying with asuka she forgive him easily

Ya boi read "anime announced" when I got to chapter 217 in the manga and was like holy shit an anime but then saw it had only 12 chapters and by the looks of things it starts like 50 chapters in. I haven't seen the anime yet but I guess I will out of curiosity

Does anyone understand why they have literally the only substantial fanservice in the anime in the theme song? Not to mention why the hell the yellow haired childhood friend is there who only got 2 seconds of screen time.
The anime is not what I was expecting. The manga is much better since the anime has left out way to much, and placing a few flashbacks is not enough as an turnover. If you truly want to enjoy Kimi No Iru Machi, then I suggest go read the manga since it is way better and the first arc is not left out which is the main reason why I continued reading, unlike how the anime had skipped it and just placed a few flash backs.
I still dislike the anime of Kimi no Iru MAchi and i felt like the mangaka choices for Haruto's actions were wrong, but still this oppening is good!
Screw you mate, read the manga and see what they've been through then decide whether the mangaka's choice was correct

I read this manga and i dropped it when he left asuka after that i went ahead and started reading other manga because his choice was the worst one he could have made. I loved it but i ended up hating it because of the choice he made.
But i think the anime made it sound like a romantic thing.... i don't know. When i was reading the manga, this part was quite sad and disturbing, but the anime tried to make it looks "cute" and that was absolutely terrible in my opinion;

You dropped it right when it got good. I'm surprised you thought his choice was bad considering you read the manga (the anime made most of the characters seem completely unlikeable). His choice was for the best; unless you'd rather them all live in misery and regret for the rest of their lives, possibly alone.
