how about advice for an absolute beginner, a teacher who wants to do an instructional video on youtube where they are writing by hand while explaining a subject, but without appearing on screen themselves! Maybe they have powerpoint slides, but they're writing on top of them with bright markers, but you don't see them or their hand, only the writing. How do they do this layer/what do they use/ what devices do you need / how is this done? If this makes any sense. Thanks for any info!!
You could try maybe using PowerPoint to create the slides. In presentation mode you can draw and write with the pen/marker tool. But then use an app such as QuickTime to screen record your computer screen.

For in between letters, I usually make vertex points in the dead spaces not touching any of the letters.
