- The Bridge Fire has exploded to 10x in size on Tuesday September 10th after starting on Sept 8th 2024 at 2:12PM. This is a timelapse of that day (Sept 10th) at 600x speed in an 4k 60fps format. There are also a variety of replays zoomed in for viewing convience. As I mentioned in the video, the 8k and HDR did not appear to process correctly, so it is stuck at 4k standard definition.
#BridgeFire
It’s crazy how you can’t see the flames until the night rolls in. That contrast between the city lights vs the raging flames in the hills is amazing. I’m out below Baldy, and saw some of that.
Saw this whole event that day even the fire all the way from LAX
-
@@rkevic I’ve seen fires before, but these ones are something else. So many spread out. If it’s that one guy that started more than one, he’s pure evil.
Wow! Amazing! It's so rare to even see what L.A. looks like from the south to the north! People have no idea how close L.A. is to the San Gabriel Mtns. 2 hours drive from beach to snow skiing. This is fantastic video, thank you for sharing it. Amazing. I lived in LA many years, and, in Wrightwood, where this fire reached on Tuesday... Incredible. I'm going to check out your other stuff; I hope to see more shots of the beauty of LA against the San Gabriel Mtns background... I miss it.
Looks like a gigantic version of Albuquerque from that view.
@@jul1440Taos better skiing than Big Bear 😁
@@dpelpal Yeah, that's a pretty high bar to beat.
Aint that like 20 miles away? How is this view even possible
Go to Clutters Park in El Segundo on Imperial Drive it gives a view of the entire airport and LA. It's right in front of the South Runway so you're looking North at LA!
Definitely do more! Had no idea the affects went that high..😨
If the hot air reaches that cold layer up there you get that massive white head on top of the pyrocumulus cloud. These clouds can reach altitudes of 20,000 to 40,000 feet .
That's terrifying. I can't imagine how scary nighttime is when wildfires are raging.
This is gonna sound pretty bad but it's actually kinda beautiful. I lived in copperopolis Ca up north in the hills and some guy set a fire with a road flare. So naturally all of us where watering our yards and buildings but one night we sat on the porch just watching the whole thing go and it was bright yellow and orange and almost like a light show. The wind changed direction and it started to burn back on itself so they got it put down but we watched the planes during the day dropping fire stuff and water on it and that was a sight of its own. Thankfully no ine was killed and no one lost their houses. It took 3 days to put it out.
Amazing video. I’m a student pilot out of Santa Monica Airport. My instructor and I took a Cessna 172 up to about 4,000 ft above ground level and got an amazing view. Still, I feel like this video captured an even better view. Love the timelapse. I live in Culver City. I might drive up the hill tonight w my binoculars.
Literal definition of the “this is fine” meme
Yes, I would like the full timelapse with data. Thanks for the video.
It was kinda wild, I drove into LA from Riverside at 9 am and it was just Smokey then when I was leaving the smoke cloud was massive and I could see the mountains on fire for most of my drive back on the 60. The speed at which the fire grew was insane
Crazy! Great angle to capture it! I filmed the Airport Fire in OC with my drone, and could see the Bridge Fire all the way down in Irvine.
Do you have any time lapse or footage of the bridge fire from your drone?
@@milkmandan I have 15 seconds or so of it filmed with the drone but from Irvine. It looked pretty massive
Great Timelapse! I saw this fire after school Tuesday and was generally shocked how it had spread so fast in such little time, yet knowing the nature of wildfires that can happen! Again, great catch of this insane event happening!
As terrifying as these fires are to live through, they look incredible from far away. Cool to see it with the cityscape in front. Very end of days looking.
As I mentioned in the video, the 8k and HDR did not appear to process correctly, so I believe it is stuck at 4k non HDR.
@@joey_wittmann It took me a while to get it right on my videos. It also takes RUclips forever to process the HDR versions for some reason. I ended up making a bunch of 10 second clips and uploading them unlisted to see which one worked better. It still took RUclips about a day to process and make the HDR one.
How did you get this view if the fire and mountains that the fire is on are not visible from downtown LA, I think its photoshoped.
@@AxePlays-hc5djhe’s not in downtown LA
I don’t think you’re an idiot, I KNOW you’re an idiot
This is incredible! Holy WOW!! Excellent. Yes, please post more.
Yes please post more I'm in Ohio we don't have this it's very scary prayers for all involved 😮
we got very lucky that we didn't also have Santa Ana Winds otherwise that smoke would have blanketed the entire coast. With normal winds the smoke heads East. Very fortunate.
@@Plutogalaxy very true
We got all your smoke in SLC. It was so dense it turned a clear day into a dark overcast day. Even on the benches we couldn't see the mountains or the valley. It gave us the #5 spot for worst air quality in the world that day.
@@brianfox771 goddam.
Very cool video! Thanks for making and posting this. The cloud formations are insane. I'm a little bit surprised that you can actually see the fire from Baldwin hills. I think the fire is still uncontained and if that's the case I'm going to be taking a late night drive up to Baldwin hills myself to take a look. Thanks again!
I haven't been able to see it since the 10th. I think that day/night wind direction and weather were ideal for viewing, last few days there has been too much smoke/clouds and I can't even see the mountain. Just wanted to give you a heads up!
Wow I love the time lapse . Nice job with this video.
Thank you for uploading this.
Wow. Absolutely fantastic views. Thank you for this!
Great job on the 'holy grail' work, Joey!! This wins "interesting new timelapse of the year" award. You never get an idea of how massive this is watching television news. But as a filmer, I say KUDOS to the workmanship here, shooting timelapse with the right lighting changes is very tough! Great job.
You're very kind, thank you!
So that's explains why I see big clouds up from the sky. Fun fact, this is the third-largest wildfire of California's 2024 fire season
Amazing footage! Thank you for the video. Originally from Torrance and haven't been back for years.... maybe a good idea lol.
Im from the Philippines. Here, we have lots of calamities on an annual basis. Earthquakes, storms, eruptions, landslides, flooding. It's weird for me to see calamities happening in the US and it's a kind of calamity that have never happened here. I'm used to seeing all sorts of calamities but never seen something like this.
We have wildfires every year it’s a pretty common thing.
This is phenomenal. I would definitely be interested in those other videos you are considering!
I saw the little dipper scroll by in the night sky, that was fantastic sir.
this is truly amazing, you should watermark this, imo this has a good chance of going viral.
can we get a version with Koyaanisqatsi music overlaid on top?
I set the license CC-0 so people are welcome to rip it for whatever use they want, credit is appreciated for those who do tho! I didn't want to add any music in the background given that for many this event was devastating so I didn't think it was appropriate.
This Bridge fire could become a big task to contain as the fuel load is massive. The airport fire will be shut down fairly soon now that is blew into Cal Fire jurisdiction and they will not let in advance into lake Elsinore. The Line fire is being managed by Cal Fire, and the ROS has been slowed to zero, although full containment will take 4-8 days, IMHO. Big fire departments in brush country should be headed by someone with wildland experience.
Nicely done, fren. I'm glad to see that your camera wasn't stolen.
Cool to watch from outside the evacuated zone😂
Incredible pictures.
I'll bet it smelled great!
@steves7896 thanks, luckily I didn't find out as the wind kept East enough for the smoke to never come down to me
Amazing video and great to see from the LA side. Though it appears to be out from this view, the fire is still very much burning and many areas on the backside are still evacuated. Truly though it's an amazing video. Thx for sharing. Prayers to all effected by the Bridge, Line and Airport fire's, as well as all fire personnel and law enforcement working them 🙏🙏🙏
That smoky sunrise was insane It blacked out the whole town
Very Awesome work my friend 😎👍
Wow! That’s scary as hell! Literally. Good work capturing this on video!
Nicely done!
Wow! Please do the vid with stats! The growth in one day is terrifying!
great video
Wow…this is incredible footage!
those were the clouds i saw from my school 4 days ago or sm like that
love this footage. bring it all on.
awesome footage
Wow.. This is a great video, and a really good test for 8K! This looks great! Really explains the orange out my window.
This is really great footage bro, thanks for posting
impressive set up to film 4k 60fps for that long. i was wondering what interval the photos were until reading the description
@@philipcrow3806 one picture every 10 seconds, ~1TB of photos per 24hrs
@@joey_wittmannawesome, played back in 4k 60fps, makes sense. Great content, although not a great topic. If that makes sense😅
Amazing footage
At 1:27 time is that a UFO shooting up to the sky?
Stunning work!
Thank you

incredible, beautiful visualization
please put up a live stream !! This view is top tier !!!!!
Had one for a while but it destroys my internet upload speed :/ I will upload more of it at some point in a much longer form video tho!

Here in Phoenix we got a lot of smoke 2 days ago from this and other fires. It’s truly sad the loss of Anamal life and lumber. Of course the loss of structures and everything as well.
I could only see the top of the pyrocumulus clouds from Burbank since I was so close to the verdugo mountains but wow that's crazier than I thought it was
Crazy 😮
The Sky is in Flames!!
Great video 👏🏼
great footage, your channel is going to do well, more talking would be better; you have a great voice when you become famous remember me ;)
His voice is like if the trailblazer from hsr became a photographer. That probably doesn't make sense but it sure is entertaining and nice to listen to
Crazy.
That smoke represents the lives and dreams of a lota peeps.
that many live in the fire- and snow-prone san gabriel mtns?
All that smoke from that was in Vegas it was scary
Wild.
It's been confirmed arson.
this is the first 8k vid ive ever watched and my god
Cool video
Want interested, but you got me watching anyway. good work.
Toom Sky is On Fire to the whole new level honestly
Thank you for the explanation in the beginning. Ignore a few of the negative Karens who didn’t have anything nice to say.
@TrinaTat I can ignore their whining, it's not their fault they were named Karen after all so I don't blame them for it.
"I see your hair is burning
Hills are filled with fire
If they said I never loved you
You know they are a liar..."
Who the hell wants to live in a place with so much smog, the air quality must be horrendous, it's like London in the 50s!
Interesting. I am just north and west of downtown LA, north of Dodger Stadium so we're not getting any of that pollution. Perhaps a little. In fact I can't even see the fires, only the upper part of the pyroclastics from my view which is about 930 ft above sea level, overlooking the San Gabriel mountains. My estimation is that these fires are sometimes about 10 stories high. That's pretty effing big.
Great video! Is this filmed by Kenneth Hahn park? I visited there once, and this video has a similar view of downtown
@@timmullen7703 actually from my house in Baldwin Hills, although I do live close to there.
I was close! I live in La Verne. The fire is in the mountains right above the city.
Southern California, welcome to Northern California every summer.

B-b-but that’s where the Hollywoodland sign lives!
Between 2:14-2:20 you can see two lights shooting up.. Planes?
@SirNilooo those are stars actually!

I thought it was Jupiter as you can see a very small faint dot below and to the left of the big one, which would be one of its moons, (you have to zoom in).
Praying for rain 🌧 🙏 ✝️
Los Angeles...best looked at from a distance.
1:05 holy smokes
Interesting video. Funny thing is you caught another fire at 2:46. It is in the lower left corner.
Congratulations…..you made the New York Post
Wow! I didn't see that yet, that's awesome!
Cali just stays on fire
Bro you just got posted to New York Post! 😊
@@christaq3528 that's awesome!
If you know geohistory of California this is normal, California historically has drought weather one drought lasted 2,000 years within the last 10,000 years and had roughly 500 years of rain spread out in the 10,000 years. And one period was between 1900 to 2000 which had abnormal wet weather which we thought was typical California weather.
seeing the smoke from the Pendleton / Airport and bridge fire here was certainly something I didn't expect. Good footage though
What’s that white ball of light that shoots across the sky from the ground , minute 2:52 , you blink u will miss it ,
Stars
It looks like a volcanic eruption 😮
4k 60 FPS for that long? Do you have the hard drive the size of a building? Wow.
1 petabyte 😅
Looks like the video did well. 😊
Okay, again Y'all sure that's not lava.
That's a scary view and i live there
Great footage! A bit too much exposition in the beginning, but otherwise a good video.
When Dubai is dry they make it rain. When wildfires burn here they let them burn
Great video if you didn't talk through it. thats what the description is for.
That's what the mute button is for
@@joey_wittmann Yes I almost mentioned that I had to hit it right away and then the video was much better
2:16 2:20 a light from behind the mountain...
What did you shoot this on (equipment)?
Sony a7r4 with a 90mm lens
it's incredible to me that we can build nuclear submarines that carry intercontinental ballistic missiles and can stay submerged for months while traveling all over the world, but we cannot put out a fire within a few hours. it's almost like someone wants them to burn
lol there is all the work for lowering the emissions going out of the window :D
About what is the distance between your camera and the main fire?
@@maryonyszczak8771 20-30 miles depending on what part of the fire
The human creature is not long for this world.. .
What is the dot of light that crosses the screen at 2:55?
9/10
Any word on who started it? Seems like 95% of these fires are man made.
