Thank you Father! When my husband started regularly fasting on bread and water, the healing in our family begun, the hearts of our teenage sons softened and they are on the path to Christ! Praise God for that! 🙏
I fast 24 hours once a week and the rest of the week, I fast 16 to 18 hours a day. My energy levels are fantastic. I’ve lost 20 pounds in 3 months. We all should be doing it.
Thank you Father Mike. About a year ago I returned to the church after over 25 years. I have fasted every Friday since then, and will continue to do this until I hopefully go back home to His Kingdom. I still struggle with other appetites, but fasting has primed me to be more aware of Jesus' presence in everything and has softened my heart. He sacrificed Himself for me, a speck of dust, so fasting once a week is worth it, as I appreciate His sacrifice and want to honor My Lord and Savior. God bless you
Thank you Fr. Mike, fasting is amazing!!! The best way is to stay single for Jesus ✝️🙏🏽No one married on Earth will be married in heaven as we will be married to our bridegroom Jesus ✝️🙏🏽
Been training for fasting but I have an AI disease so I have been fasting by having one small meal a day. It’s not true fasting but I’m not sure if someone who has had an AI disease since they were 7 can do true fasting but I feel my hunger for God when I fast.
it is true fasting, do not minimize your fast. the fast that is acceptable to God is the one of the heart, fasting is much more than just not eating food.
I do believe in the power of fasting, but my problem is when I fast, I tend to focus on how well I'm doing the fasting/if I'm doing the fasting correctly and rightly more than if it's leading me more to God. In other words, I tend to focus more on the fasting itself than on God. In a way, it also makes me think of the things I'm fasting from too. I would appreciate any tips on how I can overcome this!
It’s okay to have these thoughts-fasting is a process, not about perfection. As you continue fasting, whether it’s 16 hours, 24 hours, or longer, give yourself the grace to grow and learn. What has helped me when I struggled was turning to prayer. While God doesn’t always respond immediately during moments of fasting, fear, or doubt, I’ve often experienced a deep sense of peace shortly after praying. During my fasts, I’ve also taken steps to focus on meaningful activities, like working, working out, spending time with my wife, reflecting on the past, and planning for the future. I’ve even set aside distractions like social media and TV, which helped me stay grounded and more connected to God. You’re not alone in this journey-give yourself space to focus on Him in your own way.
I've had the same problem as you, obsessing about the way to do it instead of why you do it. I've come to realise that the most important is that you are doing it, because by doing it you are developing your inner strength, the control of your obsessive thoughts, of cravings... That's what's important, not if you're doing 16 hours, 18 hours, 24... Or if you're just drinking water or also tea, or if you have communion or not while fasting (in my obsession about doing it right, I've researched that a sacramental host hast just 1'5 calories, so even if it technically breaks the fast, it does me good and is a negligible amount of calories; so if I go to mass while fasting, I'll have communion). I hope my experience helps you😊
Please bring back an option to use a book. It is counterproductive to be forced to us the app when you want to minimize phone use. Also, please bring back the option to purchase app subscription just for the duration of the 90 days challenge, not the whole year. Not everyone wants to make this an "exodus man" lifestyle indefinitely. I can't help the impression that capitalism is now starting to ruin the original 90 days challenge now that it got popular, as there is not that much money to be made simpy from 90 days of prayer, asceticism and fraternity. And yes, those who do great work deserve to get their livelihood from it, but the issue is that not everyone is interested in year-long content or frequent livestreams etc., and just want the simple 90 days challenge, and don't want to be forced to pay for more than that.
Donald that is exactly what the devil wants you to think. He preys on our own weakness. But God is always there waiting to have a relationship with you so just keep your eyes on God and keep your journey with God going. God wants our heart not our perfection. The devil is an evil one and unfortunately we give him too many tools to sabotage our relationship with God. God Bless you brother and keep your faith going. You'll see God in heaven.
My husband completed a 3-day water fast with me because I asked him to support me. He's amazing!
I am on day 2 of a 3 day fast now. Feeling so calm.
Awesome!
We start Exodus 90 on January 20th - www.exodus90.com
