re: your comment about UL time mgmt at the end of the game, not sure they had a choice. WF used all 3 of their timeouts to save time. Short of getting 1 more 1sr down, there was nothing we could have done to bleed the clock in that situation.
If this a a repeated comment, my apologies. The Cajuns/Wooldridge bootleg was absolutely trying to get another 1st Down so they could kick it with time winding down. Have no issues running it, just spread everyone out to do it. No reason to have a bunch formation and telegraph what you are going to do.
I think the standard is for home team to use their conference officials. This may not be the case when a P4 plays at a Sun Belt school, they may require bringing their own officials in that situation.

Of the three. UL's win was the most impressive. First time the school has beaten an ACC opponent. Was a nice win following a painful loss at home to Tulane where the defense was completely absent.
I'm not sure I agree with that. ODU's offense hadn't done anything all season and Bowling Green keeping it close vs Top 25 teams. Has to be ULM's biggest win in a handful of years. Certainly, the win over Wake is impressive, but I wouldn't down play the other two at all. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I’m not so sure. Of course taking down an ACC team, even one as bad as Wake Forest, is impressive. But ULM beating Troy on road is HUGE. Meanwhile, ODU was a 10 pt underdog on the road and facing an 0-4 start.
ULM wasn't down to their 3rd QB (#3 Herring comes in for short yardage stuff). Troy's #3 came in for a play when #2's helmet came off and after #2 rolled his ankle the Troy offense never saw the field again. Heck of a game but for a while you wondered if either team wanted to win. Texas State loss was a complete surprise and I thought USA-LSU would be a little closer.
The Texas State loss was a disaster. Really no good explanation going for it on 4th down inside your own 30 yd line.
Just because the 3rd QB didn’t play, doesn’t mean he wasn’t the only one left or next one up.
