Reading VAG EDC17C46 on bench using Ktag

- How to open and read a EDC17C46, in this case it was from a AUDI A3 8PA 2000cc 16v TDi(CR) of 140hp.
There are several protocols for this ECU, some have Tprot some dont. Make sure you select the correct one. Ktag takes quite some time to ID the ECU but its normal so be patient!
Same procedure applies for KESS, just that you must read as BACKUP to get full info otherwise is just maps (like a OBD read).

Where's the power supply? In ktag when I read through 268 it says no power supply to the ECU.

hot air gun is set to 400 C , but i check with my hands to see how hot it is..

mpc only for maps area. they are 2 mb

edc16 u need to do bdm read of eeprom for immo off. they also sell some OBD plugs taht do immo off via obd directly for your ecu

Yes you must use just in case , a tiny thin line of sealant!

hey people is the connection also possible without soldering? is that what the bmd stations are for?
NO, the bdm pads on ecu replace the wires on main connector. for boot and CNF u can use test probes

you dont need heat gun, i never use heat gun. good scalpel and gasket scraper and take your time.

try same ecu but protocol without Tprot. if ecu has no tprot it will give micro error
@@Automotivesp i did now opposite choose with tprot and it worked, before i choose without tprot and got an error. Thanks Ominimicu

@@Automotivesp so I bought the K-tag without slightest knowledge of how to use it and I still have not returned my TDI to stock :( simply because i dont know how to use it
@@Automotivesp problem is dealership put lock on ECU and the only way to get data from it is to use KTAG
@@BlondynCh password can be obtain and bypassed, this ecu is even doable via OBD perfectly with new original tools. if u have problems u can ship ecu to me

@@Automotivesp mulțumesc. Atunci dau comandă de unul, cît mă va costa un remap la fîșier primul nivel și cu egr-ul și dpf-ul stins?
Am cumparat fisierul pe ebay, l-am incarcat pe ecu si mi-a aparut un puf cu semnul exclamarii pe bord. E dpf filtru, am inteles ca trebuie sa anulez masura de cenusa din el, asa mi-a spus vinzatorul. Am incercat cu delphi versiunea 2013 si nu se primeste. El se conecteaza iar cind dau anulare imi spune ca nu se poate conecta cu ecu. Cruizul nu-mi lucreaza, oare e normal? Poate fisierul mi l-au facut aiura. Masina merge foarte prost. Multumesc .
poate imi recomanzi pe cineva care face remapuri de calitate ca pe viitor sa am pe cine conta.
