  • Welcome back to Another Week in the Books, where authenticity meets accountability! In this crossover episode, hosts Spike Lou and Rich are joined by The Frequency host, Portia Renee, for a candid conversation on the start of 2025. From Cam Newton’s latest attempt at making headlines with gossip, to Portia's thought-provoking question about millennials and their role as the "new adults," this episode dives deep into how we’ve navigated the ever-changing landscape of modern life.
Did millennials mess up tradition, or have we simply adapted to a world that’s no longer bound by the same rules? How did we get here, and where are we headed next? We explore these questions and more, with plenty of room for debate and reflection.
There are more questions than answers this week, and we’d love to hear your thoughts! As always, thank you for tuning in-don’t forget to subscribe, like, comment, and share. Let’s keep growing and getting better this week.

I'm 24 but its really interesting to see how the you all talk about growing up and being adults. I definitely am starting to feel the different parts of adulthood especially having to pay all the bills. Speaking of suggesting episodes, I was relistening to old episodes and came across the one where spike was talking about if his partner cheated, that to him wouldn't be the worst offense. I think its time to have a relationship episode, I don't want to intrude into your personal lives too much but I'm very interested on if you all feel any relationships have had a big impact on your current lives and if you all are interested in marriage or a "forever" spouse. Great episode!!

y'all brought up some great points throughout the conversation.
the generation definitely had major setbacks to deal with. the 08 crash and covid definitely messed things up. in relation to community, sometimes the boundaries we set hinder the ability to foster those communities. hell of a double edged sword.

I don't think we was lied to by our parents but we were lied to by the school system for sure. I just think we misinterpreted there process of survival because we wasn't privy to the information. In Black households you don't always get to ask questions at least in the era we grew up. Great observations here.
