Who am I? A BILLIONARE!? It was five more years before I became a vegan. Thanks to Lauren Toyota, Cheap Lazy Vegan, and you for having a more realistic style of vegan eating and for not being so dogmatic like Freelee (the reason I called myself plant based for the first year I was vegan because I didn't want to accociate with all that drama).

If you haven’t looked on there I recommend it! You can find a wide range of recipes
I literally remember CHUGGING smoothies to get them over with while daydreaming about fried rice and veggie burgers. I can’t even imagine forcing down food I don’t enjoy anymore omg this diet is so crazy looking back
What is wrong with a fruit smoothie? They are delicious. Just because you like rice and veggie burgers doesn’t mean you can’t also like a fruit smoothie. Acting like it is this painful is just bizarre.

It works but of course parents hate it because it can end up wasting so much food "i want that" but you don't like that "but i want it!!!" and then they do exactly what their body tells them to do, which is to have a single bite and then throw it away. It's exactly what dieticians do to help "fussy eaters" broaden their range of food. smell it! feel it! play with it! smoosh it! Just one bite? Great! come back next week!

My parents kitchen (for 5+people!) is the smallest room in the house, smaller than all 3 bathrooms! It's so frustrating and they don't even care (having doubled floorspace in the past decade but leaving the one room designated such in the 1750s kitchen)
The thing about those kinds of diets is that you stay the hole day ruminating food just like a cow. You basically eat 2 to 3 times more than you'd do in a day and its crazy to think of a normal person that works 9 to 5 having all this time to clean, chop and etc all of those foods. It is insanely high maintenance diet. Not long term sustainable if you have a job or kids and zero time to prep all this greens. Edit: plus you have to poop more due to the amount of fiber 😂😂 which mom can afford a single poop in solitude without anyone screaming "mooooommm" 100x through the door 😂😂

@@lena-aline I'm very familiar with eating disorders and I know what they entail. I was exaggerating a bit, but there is some truth to it. Also, people with eating disorders are more drawn to such very restrictive diets and restrictions are very common in eating disorders.

But there are raw vegans and fruitarians out there that don't have eating disorders, just as there are some that do - because a diet alone cannot be an eating disorder. It's in the mind.
I think that what people have failed to realize is, fruititarian, & strict raw vegan diets were intended for people with FATAL, & SERIOUS illnesses, not the average relatively healthy person.

This has been SO entertaining!!! My sister and me did that raw vegan thing for about 4 years!!! OH the joy of cooked vegan food, oil, grain and salt, coffee, and nut butter!!!
The worst is if you lost your taste due to covid and you feel like you’re wasting good food since you can’t taste it anyway. I drink my coffee and nothing. Chocolate is disgusting because it just tastes like a dry paste. Certain foods like tomatoes and strawberries just taste sour and I can sense something is salty, bitter or sweet - but can’t differentiate tastes. You still get cravings but they are never satisfied.
This was the saddest day of food ever, but also I loved hearing your kiddos in the background and your interactions with them. It's so adorable and so real
I went to Woodstock 2018 and all that kept me going was the daily coconuts. I also broke out and hitchhiked into Albany for some vegan Ben & Jerry’s at one point 😂

Those watery salads. I was fruitarian for a month but the salads were just too horrible. I tried Kristinas ‘lasagne’ and ‘tacos’ but they were still basically watery salad. Loved my datorade though. That stuff is lush. Also Nice Cream with berries. Still eat those on a regular basis. Put half your greens in the smoothies and ditch the salad. I think we can take the good from those days and add in more protein and fat.
I’m dealing with a flare up of Ulcerative Colitis rn and I have to get 90% of my calories from bananas for probably several months. The struggle is very real
all this in winter too, cause if it's super hot summer weather then okay, but in winter, I hardly even want any fresh veggies, rather have them steamed or sauteed (or let's face it, mainly carbs and fat)

Before your partner brings in the tree next year they can spray it down with some peppermint oil. It’ll smell nice and fresh but make the spiders clear out first, without hurting them.
To eat raw vegan you don't have to eat so much fruit. I use the book rawvitalize and it's not focused on so much fruit and not low fat. Its good. I like it.

I am from Europe and don't get why people like to measure stuff in cups - you have to do fractions, depending on humidity and temperature the volume is going to be different and just chucking stuff in a bowl and weighing it out is so much easier to me.
I can't believe someone would ever want to eat this way and essentially torture themselves. And feel terrible after doing this type of diet for a while. Thank goodness you have evolved past this!

I love all 3! I do watch HighCarbHannah occasionally, but, I can't stomach high carb diets unfortunately. I just love how realistic her diet is.

I am from Europe and don't get why people like to measure stuff in cups - you have to do fractions, depending on humidity and temperature the volume is going to be different and just chucking stuff in a bowl and weighing it out is so much easier to me.

I would love to hear about your weight lifting routine. I started lifting about 2 years ago at the YMCA, but have been doing it at home since Covid.
All that crossed my mind while watching this was: WHY? There are so many delicious, mouth watering vegan foods out there, so many spices to use and make even the blandest salad taste delicious, why would anyone (not just you, I'm speaking in general because I bet there are people that eat that way as their normal day to day diet) constrict themselves so much?
I guess I'm gonna make veggie chili just to counter the insanity.
