I think your opinion about Jakarta's building is too much. I agree that the building in Jakarta have become more aesthetics, especially in recent years there are more additional attractive connecting bridges across main roads. But compared with other cities in SEA, like KL, Bangkok, even Manila, Jakarta's building still looks fairly standard
Visit bogor, abt 1 hr by train from Jakarta.there’s safari park with wild animal. And bogor botanical garden is famous too. Many can be explored in bogor
Just for yo info, Jakarta has ovr 150 skyscrapers,,, skyscrapers means 150m tall building,, Jakartas size is around 500km,,, it's the top 15 of most skyscrapers city on earth,,,, while Singapore has 97 skyscrapers, and 700km,,,,,, Manila probably only has around 70-90 skyscrapers if im not mistaken,,, While Kuala Lumpur has over 200 skyscrapers and only 300km,,, Kuala Lumpur is the top 7 or 8 of most skyscrapers city and number 1 in Southeastasia

Jakarta's Business District is not quite centralized in one area , another 'head-to-head rival' is the Mega Kuningan Business District that not so faraway only around 4 kilometers distance . However besides 'business district' there are also 'business avenues' , such as + Jalan Sudrman-Thamrin (Sudirman-Thamrin Street) which is the main street of Sudirman connected all the way to Thamrin with skyscraper offices all around both sides of the road + Jalan Sudirman-Gatot Subroto (Sudirman-Gatot Subroto Street) also the main street of Sudirman connected all the way to Gatot Subroto and again with skyscrapers offices all around both sides of the road. + Jalan Kuningan Rasuna Said- Gatot Soebroto (Kuningan Rasuna Said - Gatot Subroto Street) this also competes witih Sudirman Street where many skyscrapers with international companies inside. Besides business District there are also High-Rise Residential Districts , such as Rasuna Epicentrum District ( it's a combination of office buidings and apartments) , Central Park District ( also combination of office , apartements and shops ) at Westside of Jakarta. What would i suggest to foreign tourists on what to do in Jakarta ? first of all MALLS HOPPING , hopping from one mall to another because Jakarta is the city with literally hundreds of Mall and frankly speaking that is what mostly Jakartans do for amusement . Secondly sight seeing to Kota Tua the former Dutch colonial old town center at North West of Jakarta and third go to the PULAU SERIBU ( The Thousand Islands) , the so called many islands at the gulf of Jakarta where you can pick some villa to spend vacation in one of those islands with tropical beautiful beaches , clear seawater and beautiful corals (in case u like snorkling) . Fourth go to DUFAN ( pronounce it in english DO FUN ) the Jakarta's version of Disneyland . In addition for the fifth suggestion there's a newly developed area at UP NORTH or precisely on the sea side of Jakarta called PIK (Pantai Indah Kapuk) where it kind of combining Miami , modern Chinatown and bit of Amsterdam in one place , the main attraction actually is the foods ( u can easily find non-halal food aka pork here , usually chinese cuisines)

And there is also nice place to be visited, Universitas Indonesia (University of Indonesia) at Depok, south of Jakarta.

You also find similar rule at some areas in Singapore, Malaysia, and any other Asian countries. The park you are looking for could be GBK public park, which only open until the evening. That located across this SCBD. Which you can cross safely by MRT tunnel.

Aloha Beach is open Monday-Thursday: 10.00-22.00 WIB. Friday: 10.00-24.00 WIB. Saturday: 07.00-24.00 WIB. China Town is open 24 hours.
Better in the afternoon like after 3pm. The stores are still closed in the morning so you can find nothing
